It connected fine to my iPhone. It’s helping tremendously with my pups adjusting to insulin. The report options can be shared with your vet who can then give you feedback ect. The one thing that could be added is a place for daily notes. We are in the middle of a heatwave and I had to change up his schedule but I had no where to make notes. About 3 weeks ago it logged me out and won’t let me log back in. I reset password and it still won’t let me login. I tried to make a new account and it says it already exists. ### 4/5 — Very handy, couple of improvements required *2026-02-18, version 1.4.1* The app is great and almost provides as your one central digital repository. I have had a couple of activities disappear though. Also, there seems to be a limit to display activities for a day which results in data not being seen. Digital repository for health must be trusted. Once these items are sorted, 5 stars. For the record, Apple. iOS 23.6. iPhone 16 Pro Max. ### 2/5 — Buggy app and updates *2025-08-23, version 1.4.1* Prior update removed almost a year of accumulated data. How can I trust the next one? Not totally deleted, but inaccessible for reporting. All the data is in device history. But no longer connected with my pet. Can't create a profile either. Because a profile requires an email address, but the app won't ACCEPT one. Can't enter anything in the email field. Finally, it's outrageous that there is no way to export my data whatever. I could do all the reporting they provide easily enough in a spreadsheet. But I can't lay hands on MY data! (No, saved BG reports don't help. They can't have more than 24 entries each. ) ### 1/5 — Loses data! *2025-08-15, version 1.4.0* App is terrible loses data stops syncing. Looking into alternatives for my cat through my vet. ### 1/5 — Don’t Bother *2025-08-09, version 1.4.0* The AlphaTRAK 3 device is incredibly frustrating to use, and this app only adds to that experience. After tracking readings for two cats, the app stopped working. Stuck at a message indicating that it needed to sync with the server. Why is my data being copied to their server. It’s not a backup. To get app to work again, had to delete it, which deletes all of the associated data on your phone. When attempting to log back into account, would not accept credentials and had to delete old account before allowed to create new one. Finally, was able to sync app to device, but device only holds readings and dates. All activity info painstakingly entered into the app is gone. Furthermore, readings for both cats are now mixed together. Totally useless. Don’t bother using the app. Create a spreadsheet. And they can’t spy on you. ### 2/5 — What did you do!? *2025-08-06, version 1.4.0* I've been using this for almost a year. It wasnt bad, would like a little more but that's for another time. He was stable, reducing my checks to once or twice a week. I go to connect again with BT and all our data has been erased. I can't add my profile info because it won't let me put an email in. I can't login to my account because it doesn't find me and won't let me create a new account unless I work for a clinic. I ask again - what did you do? Would love some help on this by the way. I can't even reach out through the app support because it won't let me put in my information. ### 1/5 — Update deleted all saved information *2025-08-04, version 1.4.0* The update completely deleted all the saved information on the app. Months of testing just gone. Absolutely terrible. ### 1/5 — Worthless to have downloaded *2025-08-03, version 1.4.0* Thank you for deleting all of the data I accumulated for 6 months, specifically my 11 year old diabetic cat’s profile and his curves, without any notification or warning! It definitely helps that the device barely works and doesn’t sync with the app but at least it turns on and does a measurement. Surely removing that data will help him live a long and healthy life! Seriously, pay your developers more, this is garbage. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-08-01, version 1.4.0* Used the app for over 6 months, tracked all our progress and then the app update and all records just got deleted! Like that in 1 go 6 months of medical history is gone..so disappointing when it’s your beloved animal health on the line ### 2/5 — Please fix the app *2025-07-30, version 1.4.0* When I first got this over a year ago, it worked flawlessly. Then it suddenly stopped letting you upload the glucose reports. You would just get a spinning wheel that would never stop. Today I was attempting to send the latest numbers to my veterinarian and it would not even let me in to upload the data. It asked if I wanted to add a pet and then I got a spinning wheel that never ended. I canceled several times. I went to the App Store to see if there was an update which there was not. I restarted the app several times and then I finally just went into the report section where it told me it found absolutely no data for my pet. I wound up downloading The app onto my iPad instead, and it took several tries before it actually gave me the pairing code on the meter in order to pair it with the iPad. However, once I did that it did find all of the data from the past and it allowed me to get the latest results although it did not get the last one that was done. And it let me create the glucose curve and when I hit the upload button, it actually seemed to work. However, after typing out an extensive email to my veterinarian explaining what was going on, I realized the glucose curve it had uploaded had no data in it. So yet again, I wound up having to take a screenshot of the glucose curve report and send that. I was a software developer for 40 years and actually at the end of my career I managed software development. I would never have allowed an application with as many bugs as this has in it to be released. Someone there in development or Q/A is definitely letting the ball drop. And unfortunately, there are not many options out there for managing diabetes in our pets. So we are relying on your company and this app. It would be nice if we could actually not have to spend two hours to get a report to our vet. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Seriously??? *2026-07-02, version 1.4.2* I have to pay $80 for this device and have to resync the Bluetooth EVERYTIME I use it. This is a known issue with this meter. I’m considering going back to the human meter that is $20 with a way better app that WORKS and I can send directly to my vet. Absolutely insane the cost of this for the quality/ support you get. ### 1/5 — Device Sync? *2026-05-26, version 1.4.2* Awful experience with this app. I’m using an iPhone and can’t connect the device to the app. The problem is that when I go to the device tab I get what I would describe as a display issue where “view pairing guidelines” displays on top of the screen I need to “add a device” in the same way a pop window might obscure your browser. No matter what I do all I can click on is “view pairing guidelines” …and it brings me to a screen displaying the glucometer and freezes. I can’t click on anything nor back out of this screen. I have no choice but to restart the app. I’ve tried getting assistance from AI and nothing works. If your app is this bad you should have a little pride in what you do and maybe throw a little money into correcting the issue… or don’t promote the app as a feature at all. It shouldn’t be so difficult to accomplish such a simple task. ### 1/5 — Could you at least give us a warning before you shut down the servers for an entire day *2026-05-20, version 1.4.2* Multiple times since I’ve owned the device over the last few months the app has stopped working. Turns out it stops working completely when they do some type of sever maintenance or update. Maintenance is fine, but for something I need to save my cat’s life you could at least give us a warning ahead of time ### 1/5 — Can’t login *2026-05-19, version 1.4.1* Today, it wouldn’t input anything when I tried to save data. I logged out to see if that helped, and now it won’t let me login. It keeps telling me my username and password are invalid. I reset my password, still nothing. Deleted and redownloaded the app, nothing. All my pet’s data is just gone. ### 1/5 — App does not work *2026-04-21, version 1.4.1* App does not work properly. I was able to register my cats BG once after that it just keeps timing out whenever I tried to put next test results in. Uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, reset router and turned off phone. Still doesn’t work. Will find another app or just make a spreadsheet. ### 1/5 — For a device so expensive and medically important, I expect the app to not have so many issues *2026-04-21* The AlphaTrak3 device and test strips are 3x more expensive than the equivalent human monitor. It’s unacceptable that I’m having multiple connection and timeout errors with this app after just one week of use. Transferring the last result to the app? Timeout error. Adding a simple note that insulin was administered at 9am? Timeout error. The device needs a Bluetooth pairing button. Without pairing, the app is pointless. The 5 star reviews look fake. ### 1/5 — Update broke Bluetooth syncing *2025-09-10, version 1.4.1* The most recent update has seemingly broken the ability to sync readings after the monitor automatically powers off. Followed all package instructions and the Bluetooth symbol is flashing, but the app doesn’t recognize it ### 1/5 — WTH *2025-08-24, version 1.4.1* This app has wiped all of our data TWICE in the last two months. We have lost 10 months of data and records of our pups diabetes. Now the app doesn’t recognize our meter and isn’t pulling the data over. I have no intention of ever getting the AlphaTrak again when we have to update our current meter. At first, I didn’t think the alpha track was accurate, but after the freestyle Libre, I realized that it is very accurate. I would highly recommend getting this product if you have a dog with diabetes. The Bluetooth communication between the meter and the app on the phone is really great. My 17 year old cat is diabetic, and has had several low blood sugar scares. By having the meter at home I’ve been able to test his sugar during questionable low glucose times and confirm the emergency at hand. He used to have to go to the doctors office for an entire day for a glucose curve to be done, but now I can do it at home with the meter and app and generate a curve report and send to his doctor.
