Man kann aber die Darstellung und Textgrößen so wählen, dass man nicht immer gleich eine Lesebrille benötigt, was ich ganz toll finde. Wichtig ist mir auch, dass keine Benutzerdaten erhoben werden. Zudem funktioniert die Benachrichtigung neu eingehender Mails gut. Vereinzelt wird mal eine Mail falsch dargestellt. Hier hilft dann der Support und es folgt in vertretbarer Zeit ein Update. Die App ist scheinbar in der Lage, sich individuell dem Nutzer anzupassen. Nur muss man sich einarbeiten. Die Hilfe durch den Support kann ich nur hervorheben und ausdrücklich loben: so schnell (innerhalb Stunden) gab es eine Antwort und Hilfe! Bzw. War das Problem gelöst, das ich bei der Einrichtung verschiedener e-Mail-Accounts hatte. Vorbildlich. Auch bin ich sehr positiv von der Preisgestaltung überrascht. Ist zwar ein Abo, was ich eigentlich nicht bevorzuge, aber 10€ für 1 Jahr…!, das ist ohne Beispiel. The latest couple of updates have made dealing with spam and even those routine messages you want to read but don't want to be notified of incredibly easy. I really can't understand why AltaMail isn't a LOT more mainstream. Very few of the popular review sites even know it exists, yet if email is a big part of your day (even if it's in the "necessary evil" category), AltaMail deserves a place in your dock. I will say that it not the easiest of email programs to learn to use, and getting it configured the way you want can take some effort, but settings sync between supported devices seamlessly, and it shaves hours off of my day vs the big names in the email client space. I've used them all, not just tried them, but used them for extended periods of time, especially the ones everybody raves about. They're all terrible compared to AltaMail, unless you just happen to love the way that app works. With AltaMail, you don't have to worry too much about that - just change it. AltaMail isn't cute. It doesn't try to be. To me, picking an email program based on it's looks is like picking a car based on color. Getting the car you want/need in a color you like is important, but it needs to suit its intended purpose first, then you can play with the fluff. AltaMail is that email client. Their support staff is also awesome. They make a real effort to understand your questions, and they one of the app developers I can count on one hand that's ever emailed me to ask if a request I made was cared for in a release just posted on the app store. As an fyi, my AltaMail client is managing more than a dozen email addresses. I'm a consultant and some of my clients need me to have an internal email address, so I get a lot of emails in a lot of different accounts. I also get a lot of spam and mail that may not technically be spam but isn't even something I need to look at. AltaMail's incoming notification and mail handling rules are the best in any email client I've ever seen on any platform, and I've been using email since the 80's (yeah, those 80's, the ones that start with a 19). ### 3/5 — Bien, mais des fonctions manquent *2026-03-22* Il est très complet (Parfois même complexe au début) mais limité sur certaines fonctions pourtant basiques : - les Panneaux divisés ne marchent que sur les boîtes principales de tous les favoris ... donc exit sur des filtres, ou sur les sous-dossiers - les tris ne fonctionnent que sur un seul critère ... I bought the lifetime membership. Today, it I’ll decided that I needed to log into another email address that is totally unrelated to the application. It’s not letting me use it at all. And I can’t even get onto request for help. Basically this is trash right now for me. Logged me out again. Basically this is trash right now for me. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-03-05, version 8.6.5* Forgot I tried this all years ago - interface is still the same. UI/UX is too convoluted and needs a complete redesign. The Gmail sign in process is a circular nightmare. The constant nagging to log into an account is one of the most annoying features on an app I've ever encountered. It constantly attempts to handshake and pops up a log in prompt every 5 seconds, which when using Gmail - does not work because Google blocks this app. It will continue nagging you as you try to create an app password for Gmail and try to get through the myriad of settings to shut off 2FA and try to manually enter the app password. Terrible design. ### 1/5 — Paid user, hate support *2024-06-05, version 8.3.2* I’ve paid for years for this app and each time I’ve needed support to report a bug that needs fixing I’m treated like I’m dumb or making it all up - forcing me to capture videos to prove it or get no support at all. I’m not sure why I bother paying for support when this is what I get. You can expect to get a form reply implying you are an idiot, or that no one else has reported this issue, how can it possibly be real etc. Sick of this app and I’m looking elsewhere. Suggest you consider doing the same if you want either a smooth experience, or at least responsive support. ### 1/5 — Only a trail version *2024-04-16* You have to pay after a set time. They also do not tell you this in the description. Not a proper way to do business. **Developer response:** This app is not a trial and is free to use and has no time limit. The description describes how you can upgrade to use advanced features if you choose to do so but you can also continue to use the app with its many powerful features for free. Please contact our help desk team for a quick reply with support and for any questions you may have https://esz.nz/c ### 1/5 — Emails have been deleted and hidden, and uploaded to cloud servers. *2024-03-18* I tried calling for help, for 2 years, but never received any help. Even after providing screen shots indicating uploads of data to my confidential information to cloud servers (not Apple), and use of a MAC computer which I don’t own. My device has been compromised, most of my emails are deleted by this app and another more helpful vender that worked with me for removal. I’ve tried for 2 years to get this removed, I’ve experienced fraud and identity theft, yet no help from this vender. They refuse to delete data and email accounts from Alta! This enables a compromised email account to be used for purchases and identity theft, then have the related emails deleted or hidden! If I delete the app, it reappears. I changed email accounts and Apple ID but they are added back. The law that respects the rights of people related to EU data is below. Today, I was told via mail they would not read any more emails or requests! There is a law in EU: “The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) governs how personal data must be collected, processed, and erased.” **Developer response:** This is all completely false as we have been telling you for months. You have never sent us any "proof" that any of your accusations are valid. We have no access to any customer data or accounts so we can not delete your information from your iPhone. The data is stored inside the app on your iPhone. It is never stored elsewhere, which is described in our privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes your data and your accounts. The "cloud server" you are referring to is simply a folder inside the app for sharing files with the Apple Files App. If you have issues with the App Store installing apps then surely this is something you should speak to Apple about. It is ridiculous to blame us for installing apps on your iPhone as it is impossible for 3rd party developers to install their own apps. ### 1/5 — Very Disappointed *2022-08-04* It did filter things, but it when it tried to talk to the Yahoo server it kept getting data errors when I deleted or sent mail. I have NO problem with the Yahoo account from apple mail on the iPad. The final straw was when we went to print out a receipt, (ironically for payment to them) We had never had occasion to print anything before that. When we tried to print, instead of using the standard iOS interface it substituted it’s own, which did not work. When it’s built in print que failed, it suggested that I should install the wetprint app. I googled “wetprint for apple iPad” and came up dry. No mention of it in the google database. I had just paid for it but the print failure on top of a day spent messing with it’s failure to actually delete the spam it found because it did not seem able to talk to Yahoo. It kept saying that the problem was yahoo couldn’t take the data. It kept posting error messages from the Yahoo server about data overload. It must be sending stuff in bad format because Apple mail worked fine. Don’t bother downloading, use something else. ### 1/5 — Gmail no go *2020-08-16* Can’t get my gmail account added. I checked the boxes in gmail to enable IMAP settings. Put in user ID in AltaMail and as soon as I hit enter it removed the password box? If gmail didn’t require a password I don’t think there would be anyone using it because anyone would be able to get into their gmail account. So why does an email app think that gmail doesn’t require a password. Especially one that requires you to donate 99 cents ever month to help with updates. The craziest thing about this is my cox email went right through with no problem and that’s crazy because cox doesn’t even want to do emails. They literally have stopped issuing emails to new customers who sign up for internet service. Because of that cox is the hardest IMAP email to set up and yet it went through no problem, but gmail don’t work. After waiting for too long to connect I went ahead and clicked the test button. What did that do? It open up a message that read no password on my gmail account. So I put it in and nothing. I don’t think that 99 cents per month is helping or your programmers are former cox employees. Because that is the only reason I can think why it was so fricken easy and that would explain why cox gave up on the email side of the business. **Developer response:** Hi, gmail is used my many 1000s of our customers every day and works great.
