It is full of thoughtful journaling prompts, rich insight, and a community of people who truly want to reflect and connect. I think it is very likely worth the price for anyone who has a few extra dollars to spend every month. That being said, I was disappointed to find that the entire app is paywalled after a few days of use. I was under the impression that the subscription model would open up additional features, but soon came to realize that I would not even be allowed to read through my own previous entries without at least starting a free trial to the premium subscription. Currently, every time I open the platform, I am immediately locked into a banner advertising the premium subscription with no option to close the ad or view anything else. There is no longer anything to click on besides the button to subscribe, and there is no option for me to actually access the app in any meaningful way without paying to do so. I wish that this setup was made more clear to users when they first create an account. Again, I do feel like the price of this app is justifiable given its many excellent features— but when it’s listed as a free app, and you are able to access premium features as a new user before ever starting a subscription trial, it becomes a huge bummer to feel like your journal entries have disappeared into the ether without warning until you can scrape enough money together to read through them again. The whole thing just feels like a completely avoidable problem. Aside from that though, this really is a great app and I thoroughly enjoyed using it while I could. I think anyone who has the extra money to spend would probably benefit a lot from getting involved in such a lovely community. I can understand why it is paywalled, I just really wish that there was more clarity for new users about what that paywall entails and when it will be enacted. ### 2/5 — Has potential but nuked by paywall *2026-02-15* First I wanna say that I love the concept and how it gives you prompts and different sections to talk about (ex weed,exercise,etc). I think that this app has the potential to be helpful for many people including me!! Here’s the thing tho, it’s the paywall. After two-three entries I can’t pick write anything else until I subscribe to their membership not to mention that I can’t even access the community (which this app boasts about) without the subscription. I get it, income is a big thing but considering my pockets and that apps similar to this are free or need a one time payment I’d rather go for those options. I feel like I’m on a journey of self discovery with the AI insights and analysis of my writing. I love the tight-knit community and the old-school internet feel. I am proud to be a premium member and it is definitely worth it! ### 5/5 — Powerful app! *2025-12-14* I just want to say that I experience synchronicities on a regular day to day basis, in several different ways, but I honestly don’t think, I’ve ever experienced such a clear connection within an app. After I finished my first short journal prompt, I was fascinated to learn that 18% of others had written about distinctly similar topics such as myself. What really sold me though…the app gives you a “theme song” to fit with your current state of mind…the song the app randomly chose was “hello darkness my old friend” by disturbed…when I saw this, I instantly got chills, and told my fiancé…I’ve had this song stuck in my head for the last 3-4 days…randomly singing it out loud throughout the day….and they say synchronicity doesn’t exist! I say just come spend a day with me! I took a little break from it and got a new phone. When I downloaded it on the new phone, it forces me to go through a new user setup. The “onboarding” is stuck in a continuous loop with no means to actually get back into the app. Every time I finish my “first” journal entry, it forces me back to the beginning of the onboarding which are just mandatory advertising. You don’t need to advertise to me. I already have an account. I’ve already paid for a subscription. Despite this, I can’t use the app at all. There’s no contact information either. No way to contact anyone for help. **Developer response:** Hello - We're very sorry to hear about this. We're working on a fix for this bug but in the meantime reach out to hello@alterd.me and we'll get this sorted :) ### 1/5 — great, but extremely disappointing. *2026-05-14* i enjoyed this app while using the free trial of premium, i thought “sure why not.” the features are phenomenal and the insight it brings is truly more that any other app i’ve experienced. i love the social aspect as well as the privacy. now here comes the not-so-great part. after my trial ended, i lost access to everything in the app. i can’t even view my profile if i intended to delete my data. there’s a constant UNCLOSEABLE popup that tells me to buy premium, no matter what i click on. this isn’t just an experience for me either, my friend also wanted to try the app, but he was met with the same wall. intentional or not, i sent multiple emails to the support team, to no avail. maybe you should be more honest before you say something is “free with premium features.” this app is definitely not free if im unable to even use it or delete my account without premium. until you’re more straightforward about the free vs paid aspect of your app, you will get one star. i will also make sure other users know about this extreme flaw in marketing so they don’t waste their money on it. truly disappointed. **Developer response:** Hello - We're very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you pointing this out. What I got was a half-baked app that feels like it’s still in beta… and not a good beta. The UI is clunky, basic features are weirdly locked, and the app loves to push payment before it proves it’s worth anything. Performance is inconsistent at best—lags, glitches, and features that just don’t work the way they’re supposed to. When they do work, the results are underwhelming. More cheap filter than anything impressive. Customer service? Basically nonexistent. No real responses, no help, no accountability. That alone is a huge red flag. And the pricing is boldly overpriced for an app this frustrating. Charging premium prices for a broken experience is wild. This app has potential, but potential doesn’t excuse wasting time or money. I’ll be reporting this app, and until it’s stable, honest, and actually supported, I strongly recommend skipping it. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write this.
