But the speedometer is missing. That is the main thing I use on the app. It is one of the few apps that I use that will link with satellites and let me know the speed I’m actually driving. The best part about using the speedometer, is that I didn’t have to set a destination in order to see what my speed is, such as using Google Maps. I just open the app, select the speedometer link, and that’s it. But now it’s gone. Put it back and you get 5 stars. ### 2/5 — Update ruined a good app *2026-05-21, version 2.8* This used to be a reliable, simple altitude app that has now been made useless by updating it with features and layout no one asked for. The settings do not allow this change. The speed option no longer exists which made it more complete and useful. Unfortunately I got a new phone and didn’t realise that the app had updated automatically. New version doesn’t have a speedometer as far as I can tell. So I’ve deleted it. ### 1/5 — Terrible after redesign *2026-05-08, version 2.7* I’ve used this app everyday for almost a decade and thought it was best in class. But then the update came… I have now lost the ability to change my ”daily goal” which has been capped at 8,000 for some reason. (I had it set to 10,000 before the update.) I have lost access to my historical data. (Looking at the bar graph of hitting my goal for years kept me motivated, but now there’s no visual incentive to keep the streak.) Prior to the update the step count would turn green only after hitting the goal, now it is green by default. Again another visual cue is removed. The app now shows the step count live and gives you monthly summary and weekly breakdown for the last 7 days — things you find in other apps including the free fitness app by Apple. I don’t mind if you want to add generic features like every other app, but I mind when you take away what made this app unique and great. Unfortunately, I’m already a pro member.
