It is a must for your iPhone and Apple watch. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for liking Altimeter and recommending it. ### 5/5 — Beautiful and functional *2024-03-01* Does exactly what you want it to. Looks beautiful too after the most recent update. Keep it up! **Developer response:** Hi, thank you very much for your feedback. I'm glad you like the new design. ### 5/5 — Très bonne application ! / Very nice app ! I've been using the same app for a few years now to get the altitude on the iPhone and Apple Watch and it's perfect: very simple and seems well integrated with iOS. ### 5/5 — Solid *2024-01-04* For the last several years, I have relied on this app to both determine as well as bookmark for future reference the altitude of the location, some visiting, I’m not a professional, or amateur hiker, camper, or an adventure. However, it is very interesting to find out how different the nature is a different altitudes. For example, when I was visiting different areas of Serengeti and Ngorongoro national parks. The epic solid, absolutely nonintrusive and performs flawlessly, doing exactly what it is expected to do. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Works on watch without requiring iphone *2022-10-09* Altitude is updated to current position as soon as you open the app. Many altitude apps don’t work without your iphone nearby, on, and communicating with your apple watch. This one works without the need for the iphone. the other app i found that works without the iphone doesn’t update to current position unless you open it twice. ### 5/5 — Simple *2022-04-18* Free, does what it is supposed to and even has a widget. Prima! ### 5/5 — Very good ans simple app *2020-09-20, version 2.3* But it doesn't work anymore since watchOS 7 on Watch 4. 😢 ### 5/5 — Simple app, just works! *2019-10-28, version 2.3* Simple app, always fast and accurate on my Watch. ### 5/5 — Parfait et suffisant *2019-05-27, version 2.2.0.0* Fonctionne sans l'iPhone ### 5/5 — Works great *2018-04-11* Works great but would like to see a complication for Apple Watch if that would be possible in the near future other than that everything works fine **Developer response:** Hi. Thx for your feedback and 5 star rating! Yes, a complication view I'd like, too. Unfortunately the current watchOS will update the complication each 30 minutes at most. Wouldn't this be confusing? But I'll keep an eye on it and will add as soon as possible. ### 5/5 — Best simple altimeter / altimètre *2018-01-23, version 2.1.0* If you look for what could have been Apple native simple-to-use iOS altimeter for iPhone and Apple Watch. Cheers ! @phb ### 5/5 — Wunderbar! ### 5/5 — Black theme *2015-12-25, version 1.0.0* Could you please add black theme to the phone? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 2/5 — No more Apple Watch 3 compatibility *2024-02-21, version 4.0* Due to automatic update on my « recent » iPhone, v4.0 needs WatchOs 10.0 for Watch. So, altimeter is uninstalled from my Apple Watch 3, where I usually use this very simple and sufficient Application. How to reinstall Altimeter v3.0 on IOS 17, in order to retrieve this App on my Watch ? Thanks for your help ### 5/5 — Yay! *2026-10-06* I was unhappy with my old altimeter because I had to switch back and forth between screens to see meters and feet. Then I found this app, used it and it was perfect. Then I used the extra features for supporters. For the yearly price it was a no brainer! Love its clean design and intuitive interface. Made in Switzerland so of course it’s fabulous! ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2026-08-21* It is a great app, very practical with meters and feet on display, elegant and efficient.
