## What is Alto?

Budget around your paycheck, not the calendar month.

Alto is for people who already budget — but whose money doesn't show up on the 1st. Most apps ask for monthly income. If you're paid weekly or biweekly, that assumption breaks everything.

Alto answers the question that actually matters: will I have enough money between now and my next paycheck?

WHY ALTO

• Budget by paycheck
Plan every paycheck when it arrives — weekly, biweekly, twice a month, or monthly. Your budget follows payday, not the calendar.

• Look ahead across pay periods
See which bills land in this paycheck vs. the next ones. Heavy periods look heavy. Light ones look light — before they surprise you.

• Assign money to the future
Fund upcoming pay periods now. Reserve money today for a bill due two paychecks from now so you're covered when it hits (not scrambling).

• Know what's safe to spend
Ready to Assign shows money you have that still needs a job. Expected income stays separate — plan ahead without spending money you don't have yet.

• Envelope-style categories
Assigned, spent, and available in each category. Bills with due dates, flexible spending, savings goals, and credit cards/loans in one plan.

• Web + iPhone
One Alto account. Bank sync with Pro (Plaid), or stay manual / CSV on Free.

ALTO PRO
Unlock automatic bank syncing and unlimited transactions.
• Monthly: $4.99/month
• Yearly: $44.99/year

New accounts get 14 days of Pro at signup — no purchase required. This is an Alto account trial, not an App Store introductory offer.

Get started with a new welcome video that explains Alto’s budgeting system before setup.

Move money into or out of savings goals from a convenient drawer, with quick amounts and a preview of your new balance. This update also fixes a freeze when saving a savings deposit or withdrawal and adds Cancel beside Done above the savings keyboard.

### 1.17.3 — 2026-09-30

Budget cards now have consistent spacing, corners, and backgrounds. Income and Expenses expand and collapse smoothly, and the date selector compacts as you scroll. Future Assigned fades into view when calculated and returns when you scroll up.
