You weren't doing anything wrong. Sign-in was failing a device verification check, and the app hid that behind a generic "something went wrong", so there was no way to tell your credentials were fine. That's on us twice: the failure, and the silence about it. We've identified the cause. The next update names the problem clearly instead of the generic message, and we're working on the check itself.
