## What is Always Weather?

Open it, drag your thumb through the hours, and you know.

Always Weather puts the day on one calm screen. Slide along the hours and everything follows your thumb: the time, the temperature, what it feels like, the wind and the rain. Each hour settles into place with a light tap, so you can find 5 pm without looking twice.

See the rain coming
One plain sentence sums up the day, like "Rain from 13:00, clearing by 16:00." or "Dry all day." It answers the question you opened the app for.

Two ways to see it
The same forecast, shown the way you like. Pick one when you first open the app and switch any time in Settings.
• Sky: the whole screen takes the colour of the weather at the hour you choose.
• Paper: warm and typographic. Just the words and the numbers.

From the forecasters who know your sky
Where you are decides who makes your forecast: the Met Office in the UK and Ireland, Deutscher Wetterdienst in Germany, the US National Weather Service in the US, and MET Norway everywhere else. Prefer another? Choose it in Settings.

Official warnings, calmly put
When the national weather service issues a warning for where you are, one short line says so, and a tap shows it exactly as they wrote it. In the UK these are Met Office Weather Warnings; in Ireland, Germany, Norway and the US, the national service's own.

The next hour, in the UK and Ireland
A line from the Met Office's radar-based forecast tells you what the next hour holds, like "Rain likely within the hour." or "Dry until at least 17:00."

• How warm today is against yesterday
• Rain drawn hour by hour by how hard it falls
• Your current location and up to 10 saved places
• Home Screen widgets in three sizes, in the Look you chose and showing what to wear, and Lock Screen widgets

Private by design
• No ads, no account and no tracking
• Uses approximate location only, rounded to about a kilometre before it leaves your iPhone
• Your saved places and settings stay on your iPhone
• See for yourself: Settings → What left this iPhone lists every request the app made in the last 7 days, exactly as it was sent

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-12

New: What to wear in pictures, in the app and on the widgets. A jumper, an arrow, a jacket, an umbrella: what to put on, at a glance. It now also gives the best time to go out and notes for around the house (the washing, frost for the plants, gales, the grass), in more varied words with tips for a walk, a ride or a run.

New: forecasts from the forecasters who know your sky. The Met Office in the UK and Ireland, Deutscher Wetterdienst in Germany, the US National Weather Service in the US, and MET Norway everywhere else. You can choose another in Settings.

New: official weather warnings. When the national weather service issues one for where you are, a short line says so, and a tap shows it exactly as they wrote it. In the UK these are Met Office Weather Warnings; in Ireland, Germany, Norway and the US, the national service's own.

New in the UK and Ireland: the next hour, from the Met Office's radar-based forecast. "Rain likely within the hour." or "Dry until at least 17:00."

New: Lock Screen widgets. Today's temperature and what the rain is doing, at a glance.

Also: how today compares with yesterday, rain drawn by how hard it falls, a row of days in Paper, day rows that follow the day you pick, and a fix for a crash that could stop the widget updating.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-06

New: What to wear. Above sunrise and sunset, the day's clothing for a walk, a bike ride or a run, with notes for rain, wind, frost and sun, and the day's drying window. Worked out on your iPhone from the forecast; tell it how you feel the cold in Settings.

New: What left this iPhone. Settings → Privacy lists every request the app made in the last 7 days, exactly as it was sent. The list stays on your iPhone.

The app now sends a plain name and language with each request, rather than your iPhone's own, so even less about your iPhone leaves it.

Widgets can show any of your saved places, and their temperature is bolder. Turn location off for the app and it forgets where your iPhone was.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-09-30
