## What is Am I Secure? Forensic Scan?

Am I Secure? performs forensic analysis of your iPhone or iPad to find signs of compromise. If you are a journalist, activist, executive, lawyer, government official or anyone with reason to think you may be of interest to a sophisticated adversary, this app is built for you. The same applies if you hold digital assets in self-custody. The device holding your keys is the target, and that device is what Am I Secure? examines.

WHAT A COMPROMISED DEVICE MEANS
Your whole life is on your phone. Private messages, email, photos, contacts, financial information. If you can read it, so can someone who has compromised the device. Encryption protects your messages in transit; it does not protect anything once the device itself is under someone else's control. An attacker in that position can read your messages before they are encrypted and after they are decrypted, see your location, take your stored credentials, and reach any account you are signed in to. They can listen through the microphone to conversations in the room, record through the camera, and follow your movements. There is generally no way to tell from using the device.

WHY THIS REQUIRES A DIFFERENT APPROACH
iOS is among the most secure consumer platforms available. iOS does not let any app, including security apps, look outside its own container or "sandbox". No security app on your device can inspect the processes, the filesystem, or the behavior of the rest of the system. That is a deliberate security property of the platform, and it is why an app running on your phone can only report on your settings, not on what is actually running.

Am I Secure? works differently. You generate a system diagnostic "sysdiagnose" file using the tool built into iOS. That file is produced by the operating system itself, not by us, and it contains a detailed record of processes, logs, and system state. You share that file with the app, which uploads it to our servers. We analyze it and report what we find.

The diagnostic file is end-to-end encrypted on your device before it is uploaded and stays encrypted until it reaches hardware we own and operate in our own facilities in Canada and the European Union (EU). It is not decrypted or accessible by any third party, including intermediary data center and network operators. Once analysis is complete the file is deleted.

A HUMAN REVIEWS ANYTHING UNUSUAL
Where our automated analysis flags something, our team examines the results by hand before anything is reported to you. The same automated analysis pipeline is used by our government clients via our on-premises Private Protection suite.

WE LOOK FOR ANOMALIES, NOT JUST KNOWN INDICATORS
Most detection tools match against published indicators of compromise. The moment those indicators become public, the operators behind commercial surveillance tools change their software to avoid them, and signature matching stops working against the new version. We compare your device against a baseline of expected iOS behavior instead. That can surface anomalies that do not match public indicators.

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2026-08-29*

I wish I could add more about the app’s functionality and security but… Seems more of a “bait and switch” app.

After downloading it says you are allowed one security scan before subscribing which is a wonderful idea. If the 1st scan nets results, for sure I will be a subscribers for years. But…

After getting the ONE required file to enact the scan (one file should equal one scan right?) the app now says you have to subscribe for that feature.

I was hopeful but unfortunately I’ll save my money and move on with life.

Thanks for the response and I really do wish it was that simple. I double checked the “sign in with apple” setting to make sure.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for the update. One scan is included with the download and yours is still available.

We just updated the app, please see if it resolves the issue.

If that's not it, please email support@numbersstation.app. We can't tell from a review which account is yours, but from an email we can find it and make sure your free scan runs.

Thanks,
John

### 4/5 — Great security

*2026-04-13*

Love it

### 5/5 — Most in depth

*2026-04-01*

This is very comprehensive scanner that goes to the deepest level of the operating system. It pays to do the first free scan to actually see how thorough it is.
Don't bother with the typical commercial AV programs.

### 5/5 — peace of mind

easy to use and took no time to check for sophisticated spyware with my free trial.

### 4/5 — Blocking Spam emails

*2026-02-04, version 1.9.2*

Does your app help to block spam & junk emails especially from Microsoft Outlook

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2026-01-13*

I like this app for multiple reasons but the main ones it’s very thorough and there’s no fluff. Unlike other well-known spyware apps, this one does what is supposed to do and that is it, you know right away if there’s any issues. you don’t have to have it continuously running like some apps. Another great thing is there is no hidden cost you pay for it and you use it, that’s it.

### 5/5 — Easy and Cheap

*2025-11-18*

After searching for a free app to use for malware scanning I fell upon this one. It allows you to do 1 free scan at first and I needed it since I accidentally clicked a scam link. It’s easy to use and does in depth scanning. I can’t believe it’s not more popular. I definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Saw reviews decided to try

*2025-10-13*

All good :) definitely will continue to use

**Developer response:** Thank you for the positive feedback!
