Only tracks one person and if others are home Amana Home still goes to Away mode. It would be awesome if system usage time was visible in the app and from the thermostat like other apps (e.g. Sensi app) have. It also looses connectivity too easily and too often. Mostly though I cannot stand the fact that it has a range that you set the thermostat to. I would prefer one set temperature, not a range. Another feature that would make it better would be having the ability to set the fan on to more than just once an hour I had a Nest Thermostat and had to replace it with the Amana one as Nest was not compatible with the Amana A/C unit. The thermostat is required for Amana systems. But it gives you very little information. Am I on heat pump or gas? Go outside and look, cuz the app wont tell you. Want to see any run statistics? Many other thermostats and apps like ecobee include sensors that can’t be put in rooms to average in temps across the range of the furnace/AC ### 2/5 — meets expectations *2025-02-22, version 1.4* but doesn't exceed them With all the available data that an app could track (proven by Nest and Ecobee), Amana's version is a disappointment. Does it control the temperature in my home? Yes. Does it allow me to create a climate schedule? Yes. Does it provide useful air quality data? Yes. In these ways, the app meets my expectations for what I can do with the most basic of programmable thermostats. Does it estimate the power usage of my heat pump? Yes. Is this estimate even remotely accurate? No. What is the point of a graph that is off by over 50%? Does it track the system's runtime and provide timely reports of this information? Does it breakdown this usage into gas/heat-pump? Nope. Even my cheap Honeywell could track the runtime of my old furnace. Does the app allow me to run heat-pump or gas based on time of day? Nope. I can set the heat-pump to run over a certain temperature, but i would also like to restrict its use to daylight hours during which we produce solar power. This would be a simple addition to the settings, but Amana doesn't feel it's important. I was sold on the thermostat and this app based on its ability to allow full functionality of my hybrid system. I have found the app to be sadly lacking and Amana disinterested in making improvements. ### 1/5 — Cumbersome without sensors *2025-01-27, version 1.3* The unit we bought included a new thermostat and requires this app. The unit is great but the software has no sensors and I find the app very cumbersome. ### 2/5 — Missing feature *2025-01-08, version 1.3* I can’t find where I see the runtime of the system. But it would be nice if it had the amount of hours it was in use on a daily basis!!! Coming being a Sensi user for years that was a great feature. Please add that in the near future on an update! It not only is better and SMARTER than the original, it's smarter than me. Cooling/dehumidifying is stone cold and quiet as a church mouse. We have increased the temperature setting from 69 degrees to 72 and it's as cool now as it was with the original unit. And the outside unit can't even be heard unless you're right next to it and even then it's barely audible. And it has a setting for night time to cut the noise even further. All kinds of energy saving features. It's absolutely amazing. Better in many ways than the Nest I had previously. The amana just follows the set schedule no questions. One feature I miss though is the ability to say "circulate air starting now, and for the next X hours". I do have the circulate on a schedule, but sometimes I want to run the blower fan for a while to clear out a smell, like when the windows were open and a neighbor started up their smoker. ### 5/5 — Amana HVAC *2025-03-30, version 1.4* Love our new Amana HVAC system. I cannot believe the difference it has made in cost efficiency. Easy Wi-Fi access if we’re freezing it’s hot in five minutes. If we’re hot or cold in five minutes.
