Letters to the editor are non existent so local expression is unheard. ### 1/5 — Ten Steps Backward *2016-10-11, version 3.0.1* Besides the delivery being hours later in the morning, this app is TERRIBLE! Too sensitive on page advance, no tap to enlarge or get a color picture. The new one is WORTHLESS1! ### 1/5 — Unusable *2016-10-02, version 3.0.1* These folks took an elegantly simple app that provided a pleasant way to read a print replica of a newspaper and rendered it unusable. Have to sign in each time you want to read the paper, click on individual articles & features. What a waste of time. Repeated attempts are always necessary to simply open an edition to read. Then, the feature to tap into an article to read it frequently don’t work. When it does work, no pictures are shown and the text frequently runs together. To top it off, zooming to read the image of page usually results in blurring to the point that the text is totally unreadable. Trying to view an image results in a super small image that cannot be enlarged or zoomed except sometimes within a small box occupied by the original image. Very poor app! ### 1/5 — It’s a piece of junk. *2021-12-23, version 3.5.08* I’ve tried for two weeks to get this mess straight. Many people have tried to fix it. I can sign in and it acknowledges my account but when I open the app it gives me the “Demo” page. I deleted and reloaded the app, tried to access from AGN website, always the error that "Olive control is not a function." I called the newspaper and after two weeks of waiting for a solution I got the suggestion to delete the cookies. Needless to say that plus deleting and reloading the app produced the same error message. It's time to break the tie to the newspaper and give it up. The error message will go away if you click "cancel," but this morning the paper will not load. It is in an unending loop saying "edition loading," but it never loads. I logged into my account online, clicked "e-edition" and the same thing happened. No paper. It is Saturday and Monday is a holiday, so I can't even call the AGN to complain until Tuesday. I am tired of this app! ### 1/5 — AGN App *2016-12-29, version 3.0.1* UPDATE: this app gets worse daily! Boo! What a POS! This app worked for the first few times and now it won't load at all. I've deleted and reinstalled and it still won't work! So much for my "paid" online subscription! ### 1/5 — An Error Has Occurred *2016-12-20, version 3.0.1* Each time after the initial launch of the app, a window pops up with the following message "An Error Has Occurred" with the options of cancel or ok. Uninstalling/ reinstalling doesn't help; and newspapers wonder why their readership is declining. 😔 ### 1/5 — Bad, even for Amarillo standards... *2016-11-30, version 3.0.1* Agree with previous reviews. Except that today the app wouldn't even load the paper. Got an "unhandled script error" asking to reload the application. Endless loop. The page advance is too sensitive, the app freezes or there is frequently no documents available. The old app worked so well, we had gone digital. THANK YOU FOR THAT! This also gives the entire screen to read on. Also the screen is less sensitive to my touch so in turning pages I don’t accidentally highlight an article & have to get out of it and back to where I was. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THESE! I read the paper each morning as I exercise on my treadmill. I also like the way to select pages better. This REALLY is an improvement!! Thank you for doing it. I am able to keep up with my home town. Amarillo Globe News did a great job! There are a number of extra features that makes this the best the best news app that I have ever used. I enjoy the fact that you can click on a picture and it will open a slide show (on most pics) and even videos.
