Getting up out of bed early in the morning to go to the gym or practice yoga can be so hard, but Amaru helps me prioritize myself and get going. Their is also so many wonderful things to do. Like puzzles, journaling, and a burn journal which is something I’ve done in real life. Thankyou to the amazing creators for making such a wonderful, fulfilling, an helpful virtual self care pet. It’s understanble that these types of apps that are focused on self care, anxiety and depression ease are paid, as otherwise they would be selling our data, and twenty ads would be in our faces at all times. Besides, you can sign up to get donated the full game or just the golden key by other people if you have an account, if you’re struggling to find the money to pay. There’s a subtle story line if that’s more your style, but either way - Amaru is a wonderful pet in my experience. There are other cute mental health apps that value customers privacy. Update Response: to be able to recover users files, or to give them the ability to recover their own files doesn't requires you having access to all their personalized identifying sensitive information. If it was pro privacy, you would limit what you had access to, and/or have it be locally stored to users, and have them responsible for their own data. Instead of illuding that this is required to save them. That's not how individuals, having access to their own private information and no one else does works. It is NOT mutually exclusive. Another problem is that there is not a lot of things to do if you are playing with no ingame purchases. However, if you buy golden keys, I'd feel like it's a waste of money because you'll eventually get bored of everything. There is actually not much things you can do in the game. The journals have a limit of what you can write. Once you reach it, you can write no more. The most confusing thing is making an account. You do not really need one to play the game, since the chance of random data resetting is really low. Other than that, I feel like the game's pretty okay. The winged cat named Amaru is cute, and the company probably worked hard to make the game. The animations probably took an expert. Thanks for reading my review. However, after reaching the part where you have to travel to New Embros, I'm unable to travel there. I get stuck on the confirmation screen, unable to travel to the day scene, the night scene, or exit out. Refreshing the game takes me back to the part before I have to buy a Lori Cake, where even though my beads amount is back to how it was, the amount of Lori Cakes doesn't reset, meaning I could potentially get infinite Lori Cakes through this method. Why isn’t it loading? ### 1/5 — Was really great when it worked *2022-07-02, version 1.28* I absolutely loved this when I first came across Amaru, & my doctors & I would recommend this as a way to make building good habits for combating stress/anxiety & depression fun. The app is very reasonably priced & I loved that it included mindfulness games & meditations to help when I needed to reset after a panic attack. Sadly I haven’t been able to get back to any of my data after an update a few months back, & have to restart all of the work I had done with Amaru which is very discouraging when it was a big part of my mental health routine for such a long time prior to it wiping clean. The developers were quick to respond, but it still hasn’t been resolved & often I’m asked repeat questions most likely since it’s been so long & ongoing a problem trying to get my data back. Since using the gratitude journal was the most important part for me, being BPD with chronic depression/anxiety I needed that journal for checking back on bad days as part of my bounce back habit…it was one of the best gratitude journals in an app I had found initially & was affordable but I did have to move on to using an other app since waiting this long without a journal would have been silly & detrimental to my mental health. I do hope this issue is resolved eventually so others don’t encounter this error but for now I have to chalk it up to a good app that no longer works & burned up a few of my dollars. ### 1/5 — Instantly Crashes *2021-08-19, version 1.05* This is my second time downloading this app to try it out cause I heard about it a long time ago and thought it was cute. The first time I had this exact same issue and figured it was because it was too early in development so I shrugged it off and uninstalled the app and waited a few months. Well it popped up online again and I decided to try to download it and play again. This time the app has 4 starts and positive reviews, so idk what wrong with mine specifically. When I open the app it takes me to the “Put in your age” screen, then before I can do anything the whole game crashes and I get kicked to my phones home screen. This is all like a 3 second action. I’ve tried closing and reopening the app and it didn’t work, and I’ve deleted and reinstalled the game as well. Still no luck. Please help, this seems like a really cute app and could be really helpful to me and I’ve been looking forward to trying it.
