It works better on my Samsung phone but even there I come across with problems. The most annoying is when I want to open books and it keeps saying they are not available anymore. Why are they on display then?? So disappointing. I just came across with 3 in a row. Try and explain this to a 4 yo when she chose a book only to be told it’s not available. Games crash frequently, videos look awkward on the screen. I won’t be subscribing that’s for sure. Ripoff… ### 2/5 — Some features unreliable *2024-07-21* The time limits keep turning off without any notification. No one has the code but myself. It’s frustrating to rely on features that don’t perform. Also I tried to email through the app and that also resulted in an error message. ### 1/5 — Hard to navigate. Functions don’t function *2024-05-28* As above And searching for content is impossible. I can find an app I want in my phone but I cannot add it remotely using my account. There is an “add content “ menu, but it doesn’t work, there is no content in the menu and you can’t search from there. If I try to search the exact same name, four words all spelt correctly then I cannot find the same app. My phone is full of apps and books I wanted fir the kids but I can’t get them in the tablet, Music does not work unless Alexa is enabled, but I don’t want Alexa I cannot re-designate websites as “education “ so the kids homework website cannot be accessed if I have the “education goal” in place. I cannot preview books or apps, so “coding” or “times tables” apps turn out to be a platform game. Most of the books are too simple for my kids and I cannot access more appropriate bins for their reading ability. It cannot tell the difference between apps for education and watching videos, so you think you have 30 mins of education apps first as a setting, but apps fir games or watching CBBC or ITVX is included in the educational target instead of the watching videos filter. Great idea but urgently needs development ### 1/5 — So frustrating *2024-03-11* Cannot open the parent dashboard in the app on my phone. It’s so so slow to sync and sometimes doesn’t sync when updating the time limits etc. there should be a function to add specific amounts of time because the sliding scale function for the time is inaccurate and doesn’t sync reliably. I only get an error message trying to reach the parents dashboard. Which makes the app useless. Please fix it. I’ve tried again a few months later. App is incredibly still broken and there are lots of reviews saying they can’t get on to the parental control page. The app frequently has errors and will not load the parent dashboard on my phone. When the app does work, the changes made in the app often do not get transferred to the kids’ tablets, or there is a long delay before the changes are made. If we are outside of wifi range and I adjust the settings on a tablet, when the tablet returns to wifi service, the original settings replace the new ones. Ironically, when I was asked for a review today, I was trying for the umpteenth time to load the parent dashboard and just received yet another error message. 😣🙃 ### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect with tablets *2024-01-27* You get stats about what the kids have done, but it does NOT control anything. I can’t change the pin, turn off wifi, stop them from accessing videos, or anything else without accessing the settings menu on the tablet itself. Which means entering the PIN which the tablet says is wrong. And it WONT let me change it, help articles say it can be changed on the Lock Screen but THERE IS NO LOCK SCREEN! And as I said before I can update the pin on my phone with this app but IT DOES NOT TRANSFER TO THE TABLET!!! So I’m blocked from updating parental controls for pre schoolers. What logic is this? Most of the content is extremely questionable. It may seem “harmless” because it’s cutesy and meaningless, but that doesn’t make it harmless. There is definitely great stuff in there somewhere, but it’s impossible for parents to control what their kids have access to. I would love to choose, for example, 5 apps and 10 books that are age appropriate for my kids and have those accessible to them, and then next week swap some of them out for other books and games that I choose, but there is no practical way to do it. Sure I could load it with content I want and then disconnect it from the internet, but then the content that I want them to have access to doesn’t work because it needs Wi-Fi, and the the parental controls on education first and time limits don’t work, because that needs Wi-Fi. It’s frustrating. I would love to take advantage of the good that’s in there, but there’s no way to do it. I’m right now canceling my free subscription that came with the tablet my youngest got for Christmas. You either get 1million or 2 million apps, no ability to select preferred genre just by age filters and there is no sense of order. To boot, the parent app is not simple and the kids cant access the full content on iphone or ipad as the apps are blocked (only books videos etc are available so limited functionality. It seems every user has a separate download of each app. I can’t hide anything I don’t like directly from the app. Some things are classified as Apps so I can add educational apps I like and set timers against specific app usage. Overall, everytime I try to do anything to control content, I spend hours and hours and control nothing or block everything. The features is that you can read books in any devices just download your unlimited apps and signing. It is portable; whether you travel or lying down as long as your device with you. I can pause my Childrens tablet from anywhere as well as adjust the settings. I love how you can add content based on their age and videos etc are chosen from reliable websites like PBS kids etc. I also love how I have the option of enabling or disabling web searches as well as you tube. Which I love because web searches and you tube are a big no unless it’s for school related projects and I am searching with them. With the parent dash board you can see how much time your child is spending on apps, reading, websites etc. I have the education feature turned on so my children do not hav access to any games or videos until they have reached the allotted time I set for reading. For example they have to 30 for minutes first. Once they have reach 30 min. of reading then all the fun stuff gets unlocked! ### 5/5 — SEARCH BARS PLZ!!! *2018-09-15, version 1.0.3* I LOVE LOVE LOVE this app! It's awesome because of all the books and I'm like a book fanatic... But there's NO SEARCH BAR!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! This is kind of annoying because the app starts me on a series and then- because of NO SEARCH BAR, REMEMBER?- I can't read the rest of the series. The search bar would improve many things. For instance, I would get to read my fave books when I forget them at home. Many people would be able to read books that were on their level of reading, instead of being forced to read children's books, which are on here ALL THE TIME, by the way. So, search bar plz!
