Sometimes the sounds cuts out and it seems to coincide with my phone location to the device. But it works well enough so that I can listen to someone. It also is great if I want to lecture. I love how many different choices there are for the countries when choosing Spanish. It makes it a whole lot easier for me. Like this so far and if it keeps getting updated and more sophisticated it will be a truly amazing experience. ### 4/5 — Overall works well but… *2022-08-25* Translation works pretty well overall. At times if you’re not extremely clear the words won’t be exact but the gist is there. Also, it’s fairly slow so you can’t really have a quick conversation or a natural conversation. Will take a lot of practice to get use to the lag need for the translation. When to click and when not to. I need the Adjustment time. And the time delay takes some getting use to. I am taking a trip to Germany and Switzerland this summer and I want to put this to good use. The ear piece is a little tight on my ear but I am going to try to get it to loosen up. If I could make any suggestions on improvements it might be to increase the reception distance. With Covid it’s hard to get 2 meters way. That’s kinda close. There were two thing that were a problem. First it said Brazilian Portuguese but my wife who is Brazilian said it’s still Portugal Portuguese. The second was unable to move to the conversation mode to continues mode. Nothing in the upper right corner in the app when in full conversation with two people. It doesn’t pair at all this the worst piece of electronics I ever bought ### 1/5 — DON’T BUY *2023-11-16* Purchased these think how amazing!! My daughter’s learning Spanish, I can help her practice. The ear pieces won’t connect and after weeks of trying to work with customer support, who by the way always had great passive aggressive responses, to no avail. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. FYI- they don’t pay for you to ship it back, so you pay to ship it twice. I will never purchase anything from them this was a waste of time for me. I wish I was giving one of these amazing reviews because I really wanted this to work but maybe I should have looked at the reviews before I made this purchase. I hope I can help someone else no make the same mistake. ### 1/5 — Too Many Glitches *2021-05-31* As an investor with Waverly, I expected a product that would blow my mind off. Alas, the end product is very inferior. When you think of technology like this, I always compare it to Apple. Apples products integrate seamlessly. Setup is a breeze. However, this product fails miserably and I don’t think there will be mass adoption of this product - professional or personal. Here are sone if the issues - 1. Pairing - it takes a few attempts of turning the earpiece on and off to get the App to connect to the device. Even if it’s connected before. It’s a real pain. 2. I had a firmware upgrade and now one of the earpieces is stuck in a blue light and there is no way to turn it off or reset. It’s just frozen and unusable. 3. Can’t find any “support” documentation on fixing this issue or even “how to reset” the device. 4. When you hit support on the App, it goes to an email page, but, can’t hit “send” even after typing sufficient characters. It’s just grayed out. 5. The translation is meh. Granted there are differences in dialect, but it still struggles mightily. Unless you are speaking one phrase at a time, having an everyday conversation is extremely difficult because the device can’t keep up. I give 1 star for the concept. Inferior product. Don’t see their shares go anywhere if they ever IPO. You win some lose some. I have no way of contacting the company fir support. So here I am. **Developer response:** Hi Jak_sak, 1. We're working on improving this by bringing an auto-reconnect feature via firmware update, so stick around! 2. After the firmware is loaded, you should see a popup asking you to wait for the device to turn off before restarting it. The blue light indicates that the Ambassador is installing the firmware. 3. If anything goes wrong on the firmware update, it should automatically reset. If not, you can contact us to return/exchange your Ambassador. 4. Make sure you selected a subject and that your email is valid. 5. Thanks for your feedback, we do have a lot of improvements coming up in that area too in the next few months. El producto no funciona bien, por ponerle le pondría 0 estrellas. No escucha, se escucha entre sí y se pone a hablar solo y además traduce MAL. Escribes pidiendo respuesta y te obligan a pagar un envío a Nueva YORK. Es una estafa, no lo compréis, 200 euros que se han ido a ningún sitio. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Some of those are already available and we hope they will improve your experience. ### 1/5 — Hard to pair and the ambassador barely understands any words *2020-10-07, version 1.0.3* It picks up maybe 1 word out of 30 that are said. Definitely the worst purchase I have ever made. In total it cost me about $300 with customs/duties I was not aware of. Save your money and don’t bother with this at all. ### 2/5 — The translator app doesn’t work on 26.2 iPhone *2025-12-29* I haven’t us it for over a year. Now trying to get the app to work. It connects shows a Internet error but my internet is great over 600mb. When talking the app show no text or any sound in the ear pieces. Deleted the app twice then restart. Still doesn’t work both ear pieces fully charged. ?????help ### 2/5 — Great potential, but not ready for prime time *2023-08-11* I tried to use this in China with very limited success. It took for ever and the many tries to get it to connect with Bluetooth. It only worked with people who had a lot of patience. After using it for a few minutes, it would often become stupid and quit working. On the plus side, when it worked it was a great addition. But I’m not sure it was much better than using Google translator and certainly much more complicated to use. I hope there will be upgrades, and that it will become more functional. ### 2/5 — Translation speed……….booting *2022-06-23, version 2.1.1* The ear piece is really comfortable. The issue is the translation speed. I feel like my Apple iiE is booting up. Pretty disappointing. ### 3/5 — Ups and downs *2020-10-21* As an investor for Waverly Labs I’ve had high hopes for this product for the last few years. Based on my industry and the vast number of folks I speak with who speak other languages I was excited to be able to get rid of the standard “language lines” and cut the middle man out. Unfortunately the Ambassador is not there yet. When conversing with another person while each are using an earpiece translation is a “B” as long as each person speaks clearly, slowly, and louder than the standard conversational tone of voice. When in “listen” mode however, the translation is abysmally poor. Listening to a conversation where others are speaking another language has resulted in some of the most comical sentences I have ever heard. We’ve all had a good laugh around the office as we have played with then”listen” setting. I know Waverly was anxious to get this to market and Covid certainly has not helped, but as an investor I would have much preferred another 6 months of R&D and improvements before this hit the shelves. With any hope some future software updates will cure the ailments of the Ambassador and it will not be a hardware issue. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. We already have many refinements on our roadmap which will further improve your future experience of Ambassador, and those software updates will be released soon. ### 4/5 — Good interpretation for brief interactions *2023-06-27* I enjoyed using this app to have brief interactions at a very slow pace with speakers of another language. It becomes unwieldy when there are longer conversations with faster pace of speech.
