It does, however, break far more often than other utilities. For instance, yesterday there was some kind of bug that set folks’ temperatures to read as 33 degrees, so the HEAT came on. In Atlanta. In early September. They fixed that pretty quickly but now light control has totally disappeared from the app. Come on y’all—get it together. Few people who use this app have a choice about using it; it comes with the rental. Unfortunately that may play into a lack of resources dedicated to fixing its bugs. ### 1/5 — APP IS JUNK - HORRIBLE!! *2026-06-13, version 1.102.0* Unfortunately my apartment complex installed these against our will and we have to use this terrible app. None of the features ever work and I get error messages almost every time I try to use it. It will tell me that my door is unlocked when it’s not, it will display the wrong temperature. You go to adjust the temperature and it says it’s adjusting and then it just randomly goes back to the original temperature. This app is absolute junk. I have zero clue why any apartment complex would read these reviews and still install this for their residents. Would rate it a zero if I could. This app has locked me out time and time again and has been completely unusable. It is a shame my apartment complex requires us to use them, as this is the worst smart home app experience I have had by far. I have tried communicating with their customer support but they were completely clueless albeit kind. What’s the point of having a doorbell camera if you can’t even activate it unless somebody rings it doesn’t record clips basically makes doorbell camera completely pointless ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No Google or Alexa integration *2026-09-07, version 1.109.0* The Ambient Home app is the only way to control the thermostat and Ring camera in my townhome, and it refuses to work with Alexa or Google Assistant. I’ve tried everything — the native Honeywell and Ring apps are completely locked out, so I’m stuck with this one clunky app. No voice control, no routines, no “Hey Google, set the temperature to 72,” nothing. In 2026 that’s just unacceptable for a “smart” apartment system. Please add proper Alexa and Google Home integration. I absolutely love that I can control my thermostat with just the app. I can turn my ac on and off. The only thing I wish it would do was allow me to see when somebody walks onto my front porch. When you ring the bell, it takes a video which is nice. But the last few times when package after they were delivered, it would’ve been nice to see who stepped up there and grabbed my stuff. With regards to customer/technical service I’ve experienced some of the best yet. Brian and today Sarahi were polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of my time while still making sure I was completely satisfied. Once i got on the phone with them, things moved along and i got an onsite tech visit. Dave from HelloTech was able to resolve all the issues with my devices and the hub. The devices are even more responsive now than they were previously too. My only suggestion for developers is for the app on iphone. I find if i leave the app and come back to it a while later, I need to force close and then reopen it to get it to function.
