Especially brown noise, which I use to block my tinnitus. But all this dude’s apps are lacking one essential thing. A timer! I cannot use this app or ANY of his apps at night because I don’t want to have to wake up to switch the thing off. What I want to do. Which is what MANY people do. Is set the thing going as you go to bed and have it switch off after 30 minutes or an hour! But I can’t do that so I don’t use this app! I enjoy falling asleep to the pebble beach noises but I find that it actually keeps me from falling into that deep sleep when it doesn't turn off after an hour. It became irritating rather than soothing. And what's with all the different versions(they overlap for the most part) under different names? I was really annoyed to discover this. My only complaint would be that there is no volume control so you have to use the iPod/etc. main volume control which is either too load or too soft. Wish a new version would come available with this feature. Cannot access the sounds advertised. Nothing in the description hints at only the thunderstorm sound being available. Four of which are not even a free purchase. He is just trying to get as many people to use his junk app by using keyword saturation so he can make money off the ads (which don't go away when you dim the screen) and in-app purchases of additional sounds (99 cents each). The app itself is a template and has non-intuitive sound selection buttons. As stated, the dim doesn't dim because of the ads, and it is not multitasking, so it will not run in the background when device is put into sleep mode or you return home. It is clear that the developer will not be making any updates to these apps. They are solely for the purpose of using unknowing App Store searchers to increase his ad views and to sucker some users into spending money accidentally with his in-app purchases disguised as simple one-click sound expansions without mentioning that they cost money. Do not download! Run away! Be careful not to buy the identical apps that he is selling, either! ### 1/5 — No multi-tasking not can't turn off display *2010-09-04* Seriously, for a beautiful app to lack the two features is inexcusable. It's not like the developer doesn't know usability -- he does.
