Keep an eye on your Bambu Lab 3D printer without being tied to it. AmbientCast puts your printer's live camera feed and real-time status right on your iPhone or iPad. Sign in with your Bambu account and pick your printer, and the dashboard comes right up -- no browser, no separate login. LIVE CAMERA, LIVE STATUS See exactly what your printer sees, plus everything you'd want to know at a glance: print progress, current layer, estimated time remaining, nozzle and bed temperatures, and which filament is loaded in each AMS slot. Tap the filament row for material and how much is left on each spool. TURN IT SIDEWAYS Landscape has a layout of its own: the video fills the height, with progress, temperatures and filament in a rail beside it. Pinch to zoom in on the nozzle -- the camera has more detail than a phone-sized picture shows -- and drag to look around. The dashboard provides a live camera feed, print progress, estimated time remaining, nozzle and bed temperatures, and details about the filament loaded in each AMS slot. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 1.4 — 2026-09-20 • Picture in Picture is dramatically faster and closer to live — the button's ready the moment you open the app, and the video plays with far less delay. • Zoom in on the video on Apple TV for a close-up of your print. • Your Apple TV now stays awake while broadcasting to YouTube, so long streams don't drop. • If your printer's IP changes, AmbientCast finds it again automatically. • Adding a printer by hand now needs only its address and access code. • A cleaner broadcast overlay and a fresh printer icon. ### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-15 Printer setup now points at the right switch. You need "LAN Only Liveview" turned on — not LAN Only Mode, which disconnects Bambu Handy and was never required. A tidier printer view: the print-status badge is sized like a status badge rather than a headline, and the "Home Network" line is gone. Every connection is a home-network one now, so it had nothing left to tell you. ### 1.3 — 2026-09-11 No Bambu Lab account. AmbientCast now finds your printer on your own network and talks to it directly — enter the access code from the printer's screen once and you're done. No email, no password, and nothing goes through Bambu's servers. Bambu Handy keeps working exactly as it does now. You do not need to turn on the printer's LAN Only Mode. Status is better for it. The printer's own broker sends a complete report every couple of seconds where the cloud sent partial updates, so filament, temperatures and AMS details are more reliable than before. Also in this release: - Setup is illustrated, and shows you exactly which row on the printer holds the access code - Access codes typed by voice now work — capitals and spaces are handled - Fixes for printers losing their address when syncing between devices ### 1.2.3 — 2026-09-11 Settings and the setup screens open properly again on Apple TV. On the newest tvOS they could appear as a thin sliver over the screen, which left Settings, the printer switcher, and setting up a printer without a Bambu Lab account effectively unusable. Everything opens full screen again. The filament swatches on the video overlay now get a row of their own, matching the dashboard. They had been sharing a line with the print status, so spools were quietly left out whenever there wasn't room for all of them. ### 1.2.2 — 2026-09-09 Picture in Picture and other video apps now get along. AmbientCast used to interrupt whatever else was playing, which could leave a video in another app stalled until AmbientCast was closed. It doesn't any more, and the printer window keeps running alongside. Switching between printers while watching in Picture in Picture is fixed. The window used to freeze within a minute or two of changing cameras; now it keeps going. Picture in Picture also comes back faster after you switch. Where the button could sit unavailable for a couple of minutes, it's usually ready in seconds. Times are easier to read. A print with 349 minutes left now says "5h 49m" — on the dashboard, in the video overlay, on the Apple TV home screen, and everywhere else it appears.
