It’s incredibly feature rich overall. The one main feature missing is a grocery list or the ability to make some form of list of ingredients. It helps consolidate recipes and makes trips to the store more manageable. Otherwise great app and intuitive UI. **Developer response:** We love hearing that Ambre is standing out among the apps you’ve tried, thank you for sharing your experience! So I felt a little disloyal when I started to look around for another app with a more modern feel. I quite like the look and feel of Ambre, but I’m not overly keen on the eternal subscription basis, and the deal breaker for me was not being able to compile a grocery list from my chosen recipes. The meal planning tool feels slightly pointless without that. It’s back to Paprika for me, with my tail between my legs! **Developer response:** Thank you or giving Ambre a go! We understand that subscriptions aren’t for everybody, but it is what enables us to keep improving Ambre with new features and polish the current ones. 

I can see how it would be helpful to compile a grocery list from the recipes scheduled to Meal Plans, and I’m happy to let you know we are looking into how to add that to Ambre. In the mean time, I personally like to tick things off in the scheduled recipes that I already have saved and then manually add the rest to the Reminders app side by side on iPad. I hope that helps!

It gives me a url and .ambre file that the phone can’t recognize or even open. **Developer response:** Hi, I'm sorry Share isn't working as expected. Share creates a unique URL that can be opened on any device to view the recipe. Export creates a file which can be shared and imported by other Ambre users. If you send the URL to friends and family they should all be able to view the recipe, and if anyone already have Ambre on their device the recipe will automatically open in the app when tapped. But I would love to add Siri on it, and that will be awesome! Unfortunately, I had just made 2 new recipes and it didn’t save on my Apple Watch. I don’t use my iPad that often! It would be a 5 star it you added Siri and made the recipes on phone, iPad, tv, whatever, save on my watch. Thank you! For your recipes to sync across your devices, make sure you are signed in to your iCloud and have iCloud Drive turned on for all your devices you want to sync across. If it also had inventory from the shopping list and ability to suggest recipes based on what is left over then it would be 5-star. **Developer response:** Thank you for leaving us a review with your thoughts! In the meantime: Using Ambre and Reminders simultaneously in Split View on iPad works great. That way you can update your shopping list as you go over the ingredients for your planned recipes. Only issue is that importing from a IRL does not work. Gives me a brief loading screen and then the slide up menu goes away and it kicks me back to the Home Screen. Makes it really hard to try and import all my saved recipes from Pinterest. Would be great if I didn’t have to enter it all by hand. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Du kannst die Kaufansicht schließen, indem du sie nach unten ziehst oder auf die Schließen-Schaltfläche in der oberen rechten Ecke tippst. Falls du eine kostenlose Testphase gestartet hast und die Kaufansicht immer noch angezeigt wird, handelt es sich wahrscheinlich um einen UI-Fehler. Du solltest die Kaufansicht dennoch manuell schließen können. If you ever come out with a lifetime purchase option, I would love to check it out! **Developer response:** Your data is yours, and saved recipes will always be accessible, no matter if you are subscribing or not. You can always manually compose a recipe, edit it or have it deleted without a subscription. I can assure you we will never lock you out of your own recipes :)

It doesn't. I'm using the most up-to-date versions of Ambre of iOS software an iPhone 14 Pro. **Developer response:** Hi, Sorry to hear the import isn't working as expected. Sorry for the inconvenience! /César ### 2/5 — Messy- Unorganized *2025-04-01* I just downloaded this but will be canceling before my 3 day trial ends. - There are no categories, only tags. Every cookbook ever has categories. Example: main dish, side, dessert, etc - Importing from Pinterest is sloppy. It pulled in some of the ingredients but not all. The ones it did pull in, they didn’t have quantities/amounts. It also added ingredients that weren’t even in the recipe. - Both recipes I added, one from Pinterest and one picture of a recipe card; neither filled in the servings or total cook time. Does not have separate prep/ total time. - There is a description box to put tags in but no notes. Need a place to put your own adjustments or substitutions separate from the directions. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We wanted to provide a fully flexible organizing system, which is why you can create your own tags based on your personal needs. Would you please be more specific? Otherwise I have looked on how I could export my data if something happens to your app: Yes I can export it -> into your own format - can't do anything with that. So I would be giving you all my data and hoping that this app will never die, or change the privicy policy, or the cost. Sorry, no deal! Two stars, for trying. **Developer response:** Hey! We track some features just to make sure your user experience is as smooth as possible. Every failed import is tracked for example, that way we can fix it as soon as possible. We can't see which imports are yours, all tracked events are anonymous. We don't share any data with any data brokers, so your data stays private and is not used for targeting ads or similar. Vor allem die Gestaltung ist im Vergleich zu anderen Apps sehr gelungen. Ich finde auch, dass das Importieren von Instagram und TikTok viel besser funktioniert als bei anderen Rezepte-Apps. Sogar Texte, die nur im Video vorkommen, also weder in den Kommentaren noch in der Caption, werden in das Rezept aufgenommen. Dafür auf jeden Fall ein großes Lob! Was mir allerdings noch fehlt sind Kalorienangaben beziehungsweise Nährwerte.
