### 1/5 — Don't waste your time and money

*2024-06-16*

To even "approve the charging session" you need to give tons of personal information and verify both email and phone number.. why not just swipe my credit card like I do in the gas station? Then you need to preload the account with money by setting up autoreload.. what the heck? Then you sqan the QR code on thw charging station only to keep getting Timeout errors.. I tried 4 stations. Terrible and I hate EVs because I have to deal with such scum who take all this PII and precharge me with autoreload just to buy their product.

### 1/5 — Find a different charging network

*2024-04-01, version 2.14.2*

1. Poor App design. Unintuitive mess.
2. Takes way too much data from the user. Says it’s for security but it’s just to take as much data from you as possible. You see it time and time again.
3. Doesn’t even read charge data from charger. It’s only good for starting a charger if it works.

Just find a ChargePoint charger anywhere else. This is such a mess. It almost feels like I shouldn’t even plug my car using these devices.

### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD- App locks up funds

*2024-02-18, version 2.14.2*

After deleting the account this company continues to charge the credit card. You can’t use the funds on the platform.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2024-02-03, version 2.14.2*

It crashes when I try to open the app. I have in-app balance of about 30-35$ but I cannot use it as app will not open.

### 1/5 — Worst charging app ever

*2024-01-18*

Extremely expensive, annoying difficult to set up, constantly crashes, 1/5 charging experience

### 1/5 — Data harvesting

*2023-10-15, version 1.4*

This app requires your name, email address and phone number. None of which are required to charge a vehicle. As long as I load money onto the account there is no need to know anything else about me.
You can give a fake name but they send a verification code to the email address and another to the cell phone number.
All of this before I even know how much the charges cost and have decided to use them.

### 1/5 — *****EXPENSIVE******

*2023-08-19, version 1.3*

They charge over 3$ an hour for 45km/hour charging speed.

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2023-08-14, version 1.3*

This entire eco-system is garbage. Creating an account sucks (you have to give so much data). 2fa for email AND text is also dumb. Obviously just a contact harvesting device. Adding cards is terrible, and they have no knowledge of when a charger is down/unresponsive.

### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used by far

*2023-08-04*

It crashed repeatedly, had a horrible UI (including critical text in light gray on a white background), an unnecessarily complex signup process with multiple security codes, and would not let me enter my address to add a credit card. I was only able to charge by adding funds via logging into their website and adding a card, then switching back to the app to start charging. I can only assume this app was created by an oil company to sabotage the electric car experience.

### 1/5 — If I could give 0 stars I would

*2023-07-19*

It takes 10 minutes to set up charging, uses white on light gray font to start a charging session

### 1/5 — Poor first app experience

*2023-07-18, version 1.2*

This app is poorly designed. The download process and steps to set up your profile, including adding a payment method is very poor. I wonder who tested this app.

The charging experience is a little uneven. Seems like you may have to try a couple times to get it to engage.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Corporate greed

*2026-07-21*

There is no reason besides greed that a modern charging app needs to auto reload my card when the balance is less than $5. Just bill me what I use. Greedy MBAs designing a sub par system so they can get a bigger year end bonus. Go jump in a lake

### 1/5 — No good

*2026-06-10, version 2.24*

Impossible to create account!

### 1/5 — Takes 30+ min and 3 verifications to start.

*2026-05-31, version 2.24*

Awful. Takes forever to set up. Have to create account. Have to verify account repeatedly. Have to sign in, repeatedly. Minimum charge payment. 5c/ MINUTE. 20amp. Do not use.

### 1/5 — Worst charging app ever

*2026-05-03*

Comically bad and infuriating for the first charge when you need the juice on a road trip

### 1/5 — Garbage app

*2026-01-19, version 2.23*

Stay away from this app. Like others has said. Requests for so many personal information just to charge. You also need to add funds when your credit card is already in place. Minimum $20 deposit as well. Not even sure if you can get a refund after as well. Stay away from these chargers.

App doesn’t even work half the time as well. No charging stats either.

### 1/5 — Not allowed to add fund.

*2025-08-09, version 2.19*

No good

### 1/5 — Credit card transaction doesn’t work

*2025-07-04*

CC payment won’t work on the app…sucks!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-04-09*

I usually don’t leave reviews but this one deserves. App useless and without it you can not use the charging station. It’s impossible to add funds to the account.
Don’t even try.
If they have this station nearby don’t count on it. It will not work!

### 1/5 — Ridiculous

*2025-02-26, version 2.18*

Must add $20 to your wallet just to charge. I only need to use $7 as I’m travelling, and they require SO much info to create an account.

### 1/5 — Worst Charging App & Stations

*2024-10-19, version 2.17*

This is the worst experience I have had with a charging app in my life. This app is so basic and not functional like most charging apps. It wants to automatically take money from your account to retain a balance in the app. Why not take the money from the card on file for the charging amount rather than a keep your money in an app that has very little charging stations across the map.

## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated)

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2024-07-16, version 2.16.1*

App demand too many info, does not work very good. But do the job when in need.

### 2/5 — Bad experience

*2025-12-13, version 2.22*

Trying to connect for the 1st time: my phone number is rejected. I call for help: they are closed. I enter my credit card: it is refused (Amex).
