Randomly it’s gone now. It says it’s only on Paramount. I chat with AI and it says it’s definitely supposed to be on there. They’ve always put out solid content, but there are so many commercials that it’s hard to even get into anything you’re watching. Easily one of the worst streaming experiences on the market. EVERY single time I did that, I would get an ad. So if I had to reconnect every 2 minutes, I would get a 45+ second or even a 90 second ad each time! This is ridiculous. If I just went through an ad why do I have to watch it again. Never using this app again. App freezes near the end, you restart the show and it goes all the way back to the beginning. But wait! Try to fast forward to the almost the end of the episode and we will make you watch at least 4 commercials. Try to cheat by going back and then restart? PENALTY! Now you will watch 6 commercials. Research shows problem dating back to over a year now. Hire real mobile developers and not React Native web developers. I had Chromecast development and integration working flawless back in 2012. Freezes all the time. Have to close and restart episodes and then watch all the commercials all over again. And for this aggravation, I’m paying several hundred a month for a cable “package” that I have no control of its content. Hope you realize why you will be chapter 11 when more and more decide you just ain’t worth it. ### 1/5 — AMC mobile app *2025-10-19, version 10.41.0 (2613)* I downloaded the app and it asks for a passcode to sign in and when I put in an and it says user not found. It doesn’t give up an option to set up an account. I just gave up. ### 1/5 — Yet Again FORGETS MY PROVIDER *2025-10-17, version 10.41.0 (2613)* You pay a fortune for cable, you link your provider with your iOS device, and the AMC app coders can’t be bothered retaining your credentials from one app update to the next. UNACCEPTABLE !!! Other apps have a clue. Why not you? ### 1/5 — Does not link anymore *2025-10-09, version 10.40.0 (2598)* Used to be able to watch the AMC app via spectrum without issue. We changed to Altafiber and the app will not allow sign in, though the channel is part of our package. I’ve tried contacting support who sends me to AMC+, been a constant run around over a week now. They gave me a phone number to call, and when I did that, the lady was very rude and kept talking over me to keep telling me she is just a receptionist and cannot help me. Very aggravating, I enjoyed this app when it worked with Spectrum, not sure why it wont work now, and no one can tell me why… ### 1/5 — Not sure if there’s a worse streaming app *2025-10-08, version 10.40.0 (2598)* This thing is just hot garbage. Don’t even think about pausing or moving forward or backwards. It will most likely just freeze requiring you to exit and come back. Even the ads are buggy. The entire ad break just repeats the same ad back to back up to 10 times in a row. After The Walking Dead season came back in air,I tried to access my Premium content again and tho I had resubscribed to it since March 8th, I’m unable to access my Premium content. I’m prompted to purchased it when I have already done so. I uninstalled and re-installed, logged out and back in ... still no success! I emailed tech support. Hopefully this will fix the issue. Update: Emailed tech support and they got it going for me. Charmaine with customer care was great and handled my issue. ### 5/5 — Review *2017-11-06, version 2.0.14* Asked to write a review immediately after opening I clicked on a show and then got asked to rate it. Well for the 5 sec I used the app it was amazing but hey stop asking me and everyone else to write reviews all the stinkin time if I enjoy something I will tell someone about this is just abusive and it's not just AMC every app does it. What I love most is starting an app to use it but being bombarded with writing reviews instead this is so much fun and the whole reason I downloaded it was so I could review after using it for 5 seconds. ### 4/5 — Good app! *2018-12-09, version 3.8.94* I guess after some updates, the app is much better. I logged in with my provider and I can watch all the shows. I tested some of the complaints in previous reviews and I didn’t have any problems. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because there are ads within the shows. Normally, I would say, “well they have to make money”, but since I am logged in with my tv provider, which I already pay for and get amc, I don’t think I should have to pay anymore. Other than that, I have no complaints. So I will only use the app if the show I want to watch can’t be watched on demand or some I haven’t recorded. Like they showed Moneyball a while back.. the film itself is 2 hours 13 mins. The time slot they gave it was over 3 hours long. That’s more than 45 minutes worth of commercials. Well the app is no different. Every 4-7 minutes, you get another 2.5-3 minutes worth of commercials. AND THEY WILL SHOW THE SAME EXACT COMMERCIAL 3 OR 4 TIMES IN A ROW. While watching the second episode of Gangs of London, the first 5 commercial breaks played this mind-numbingly stupid AT&T commercial 4 times in a row each break. It was the one with their spokeswoman “Lily” using a whiteboard that’s set up to look like she’s drawing out a play in basketball to explain their deals to two customers... Oh, and if you try to use the button that rewinds 15 seconds in case you missed something, it sends you directly into another full commercial break. So I’d pay CLOSE attention to what you’re watching unless you want another 3 minutes of McDonald’s and AT&T ads... those are their two biggest sponsors at the moment. And by the way, do the writers of that commercial really believe that by alluding to basketball and having a few basketballs in the shot that they’re “appealing” to fans of the sport? The writers must be just as dumb as the so-called “humor” they stick into every last commercial. ### 3/5 — Shows are good, but the app is temperamental *2021-03-01, version 3.26.150* The app will log you out of your provider after a couple of days without use then when doing the auto login thing it does it will get stuck on the login page. When this happens, closing the app and reopening it just makes it get stuck on the splash screen. Sometimes rebooting the device fixes the problem and sometimes it makes matters worse and you get a can’t contact the server error message. Considering I only subscribe on cable to access a couple shows while I’m on the road I’m wandering if the hassle is even worth it anymore. ### 3/5 — Gets the job done *2019-02-21, version 3.8.95* App delivers if core purpose for accessing media content. Little attention to user interface interface has been made though. Bugs keep popping up. For example The cast icon in landscape is next to the airplay and not clickable. The resolution of the content is obviously reduced for bandwidth savings. The typeface size and spacing makes it difficult to read in some areas and overpowering in others. The size of the thumbnails is standard but does little to help identify which episode I’m looking at. I always find myself looking more at the season and episode making the thumbnail little more than aesthetic. The abrupt show and hide of objects without ease animated effects feels amateur. And the initial home screen takes a moment to find your way around feeling more like a store or dashboard when it should be more intuitive and personalized. The initial load time is very heavy as well. Suggesting far too much content is being loaded on start or pulled from remote. Perhaps not fully native. The amount of ads is a travesty. Every 10 minutes there’s 4-6 ads to watch. They must make $50 off of one person watching 1 season of a show. If there was another way to watch these shows I would use that platform.
