App never links to cameras. If you want reliability this is not it. I have dvr hooked to high speed internet and I can never link to camera while away from home. Called customer service to reset password and deleted and redownloaded the app and logged in. It works again! I love being able to check my dogs and my home when we are away. I just wish the app supported motion playback. It also works on all of our iPads and iPhones, it even worked on my old Samsung j7. Should not have such low star ratings. I almost didn't buy because of the ratings. I saved money by getting good system @ low cost. Which was very important if you have to pay someone to install the cameras like I did. Lots of bad reviews here but I haven't had any problems. I had to go into network settings and change a couple things and check a box to enable remote viewing. Then download the Amcrest Link App not the Amcrest View app and voila! Watching my home from my iPhone right now!! Sup! ### 5/5 — Works great so far *2015-11-02, version 2.1.5.18* We use this for our horse farm to keep tabs on the horses and for barn security. I had it on my iPhone 5 and it worked fine. I recently got an iPhone 6s Plus and it wouldn't work. I just restored my old phone to the new and it works! Very pleased! Love this app! We haven't used it much for playback yet. That is a little cumbersome, but great to have at least. ### 5/5 — Works great with Amcrest *2015-04-21, version 2.0.5* Easy to use app for views of all four security cameras at my rental property. ### 4/5 — IP Address *2020-01-02, version 3.3.25* The app works fine for my purpose of simply viewing live images from the cameras. I noticed a lot of bad reviews talk about the app losing connection with the cameras. I am not sure about the solution, but in my case, the cause was changing IP addresses. The router changes IP address for the DVR from time to time, but the DVR doesn’t update with the new address. The solution was to change the IP address setting on the DVR to static mode.
