This app worked great in 2023, but now there’s a new card and as usual the app is not updated. It’s not useful unless you still want to play with the 2023 card card.

**Developer response:** 2024 is here :)  We work nonstop to update, test, release, and bug fix all of our apps when the new cards come out, including the free ones. It’s major crunch time!

The app isn’t very useful when the jokers are not included as one of the tiles we can select.  The 2024 version was much better.

**Developer response:** Jokers are back and better then ever  :)

They don’t just show up in the counts but also in the hands to show singles and pairs rules for new players. The old algorithms were confusing for some players.

My friendly low-key group wanted to try this out together while we were playing a game. Even though we sometimes questioned the recommended hand, if we played that hand we usually won the game😁 
This is a great resource for learning the card at a deeper level and opening your eyes up to solid hand choices that you might’ve otherwise not considered.

This app will be very helpful in teaching (and playing) American Mahjong.  I hope it will soon be updated to the 2022 card.
