The app leaves a lot to be desired, constantly having to re-log in, and every time I open it - even after closing a minute earlier - it goes back to the home page making me have to re-find the recipe 🤷‍♂️ ### 4/5 — Great app and recipes but…. *2026-08-06* I only wish there were more vegetarian recipes and lower fat and/or salt recipes. There are many older adults who enjoy cooking and are on reduced fat and/or salt diets. So at the very least try to include some options for substitutions to decrease saturated fats and salt. The recipes are really easy to follow so I think many people don’t have the experience to be able to come up with their own substitutions. The great thing about this app is you don’t have to be an experienced chef to produce beautiful and tasty dishes!! I realize this isn’t possible for every dish but would be great when possible. I’m 14 trying to learn how to cook without stressing my parents about money, and so they aren’t constantly over my shoulders about how dangerous cooking is while I’m actively cooking. I wish some apps have free online programs for teens and kids who mature quicker than adults like to admit! Although this app showed helpful tips, the constant “Join free for 14 days!” Is an annoyance. Being my age is a struggle with my situation and preferences. Helpful, then again, not. Also, it’s surprising that you still can’t zoom in on recipes or articles. Until now. The texture and spicing in this cake is ethereal and the icing perfectly balances the cake and is just lightly sweet. I will continue to make this on repeat, no matter the season or fresh fruit and berries I have access to. This is an amazing dessert!!! ### 5/5 — Delicious bread *2026-07-09, version 6.15.1* Made exactly as written and bread is moist but not wet, and has perfect seasoning. I also made the other zucchini bread recipe with dried cherries. I like that one as well, but think this texture is better. Note that you scrape out the seeds from the Zucchini and then shred. I ordered the cookbook and became a member. I don’t usually do that but ATK had the most versatile recipes. Some were not for me but so many were. I have made numerous recipes from ATK and not one has been bad. I also love the reviews on tools and food items. I’ve even bought a few of them! Very clean, clear, and friendly. One bug that I’ve encountered is that I’m unable to use the save/bookmark feature in the app. I can do this online, so it must simply be a glitch. ### 5/5 — Great instructions delicious recipe *2026-07-04* I’ve had a membership to ATK for several years. The main reason I like it is the recipes are straightforward. Most ingredients are very reasonable and I don’t mind buying them, not too exotic and the instructions are very clear. I love the videos and especially appreciate the science that is behind these recipes. They really put a lot of thought into them rather than just tossing ingredients together that sound like they would taste good. I feel that the membership is well worth the cost. The other reason I really appreciate the membership is reading all the comments on every recipe that interests me. I like the fact that you can search in the comments by a specific word if you’re looking for something relatively specific ingredient. It was fast and easy. The recipe calls for pushing the zucchini into the hot pan to assure contact. I wasn’t as diligent as I should have been so there were areas that weren’t browned. The spicy honey really adds flavor to the zucchini.
