It is useless and you are forced to pay extra ATM fees. I spent over two hours looking through the online FAQ and my issue is not addressed. I then tried phone customer support and physically went to my bank and nothing was resolved. No one has given me any solution. This month I cannot even pay off my card due to ATM limits. Horrible service and horrible support. I cannot warn people enough, do not use American Express. ### 1/5 — A global brand with zero global mindset - No English interface! *2026-06-05* It is absolutely baffling that a massive, international financial institution like American Express does not offer an English interface for its Japan app. Do they honestly think foreigners don’t live, work, and hold credit cards in Japan? Even Rakuten—a strictly Japanese corporation—manages to provide an English interface for their apps and services. Yet Amex, a global brand built on international travel and premium service, forces its non-Japanese cardholders to rely on screenshots and translation apps ! The customer service on the phone might speak English, but the digital experience is stuck in the past. ### 1/5 — Decepcionará *2026-04-10* Esse mês descontaram a fatura do meu cartão no banco , mas o american express não liberou para uso , dizendo ser por falta de enviou do detta do banco para o american express , porque não fomos notificadas , porque não enviaram nenhum email , eu paguei a fartura desse mês mas não está liberado , disseram que só irão liberar dia 2026/4/16 é muita falta de respeito com os cliente ### 1/5 — 利用上限のせいで目標達成が不可能 *2026-04-06* I’m struggling to understand the logic behind my experience with AMEX. I was approved for their credit card and encouraged to meet relatively high spending targets, yet my assigned credit limit is extremely low—around five times lower than my other (no-fee) credit card. As a result, the card is practically unusable for its intended purpose. Setting ambitious spending expectations while providing such limited credit feels misleading and poorly aligned. Overall, this has been a very disappointing customer experience, and not what I would expect from a premium brand like AMEX. ### 5/5 — アプリによる連携サービスが秀逸。 *2025-08-19* 7、8年前振りの利用となります。前回は家族カードであったため履歴と確定時の請求閲覧しか出来ませんでしたが、現在は利用に対してほぼリアルタイム通知が有り、制限はあるものの利用状況、利用可能額の確認が出来るため、状況確認が容易となり非常に嬉しい。 アプリの表示がwebサイトと同様な表示をアプリのまま表示しており、レスポンスの良さが際立っている。サービス内容の閲覧、誘導もスムーズです。 スマホのウォレット支払い時のエラー時をきっかけにコールセンター(アプリから誘導有り)への問い合わせを行うと、待ち時間がほぼ無く、答え難いデリケートな部分も適切なレベルでは説明を受け、久しぶりに応対に感銘を覚えました。上位のコンシェルジュと勘違いするレベルです。 アプリからwebサイトへの誘導だけに終わらず素晴らしいの一言です。 ぜひ他社と使い比べて欲しい。 ### 2/5 — 見づらい *2025-07-30* 楽天カードのアプリに慣れすぎて、AMEXは見づらさを改善してほしい。 どなたかのレビューにもあったように、二重請求されてる錯覚にもなるし、締め日から確定までが早すぎて、締め日付近の利用は翌月利用に持ち越されて、結局は同じことなんだけど、「まだ今月1回もカード使ってないのに、もう5万円明細に載ってる」状態になって、心理的に嫌。 明細スクロールしても、どこが区切り(締め日)なのか、わからない。 ### 5/5 — I got shot *2024-11-07* A couple of months ago, I got sho and was in an induced coma for almost a month while on a safari trip in Africa. I had moved about 5 years ago. After 7 months of hospitalization, I returned home and found that my bill was overdue and the first thing I did was call AMEX to tell them I was arranging to send the money. But as luck had it, I sent the money and a week later the local bank tells me that there was a technical error and my transfer had not been sent. Ten days later it left Africa and wasn’t going to get to AMEX on time. Panic!!! But the AMEX staff assisted and with some help we managed to get everything settled. Thank you AMEX. You have always been my life line! ### 5/5 — ゴールドカード *2024-10-03* 不正利用に対する安心感があります。万一の事態でも、人が目で判断して不正利用かどうかを判断してくれると信じています。他のクレジットカードはコスト優先でセキュリティを軽視してきたツケを払わされる事態が発生して、一気に解約に発展することになると見ています。スーパーなどのカードは、信用を失って金融機関としては存続の危機を迎えています。セキュリティ第一の企業が業界で残っていけると思います。 ### 3/5 — 以前より掲載が早くなって使いやすくなった。 *2024-08-20* 利用金額が未確定となっていても利用後速やかに反映されるようになって使いやすさは増したと思う。 ポイント還元の操作エラーも前よりは改善している。 ただ、アメックスとしてのブランド価値をこのアプリで見出そうとしても見出せないのが残念。 せっかくプラチナ使っていても年会費以上の魅力がなかなか感じられなくなってしまったかなぁ。 コロナ禍あけても旅費高くなって海外行きにくいし、保険の中身もイマイチジャストじゃないし。 ### 1/5 — アプリの改善をお願いします *2024-07-10* 非常に使い勝手が悪い。アプリでログインしても、サービスを利用しようとするとAmexのWebページに飛ばされて、そこから外部リンクのサービスプロバイダーのページに行くとメール認証と再度ログイン。やっと繋がっても利用している最中に何故か途中でアプリのログインページに戻る現象が続きます。サービスの内容も探しにくいし、オファーについては自分で見つけて登録しないと行けないものがほとんど。なんでいちいち自分で登録しないと利用できないのですか？全てのカード保有者に自動で付与すれば良いのではないですか？使い勝手の悪いアプリで探したりするのは苦痛です。それから利用明細書。一体いくらがいつ引き落とされるのか、非常にわかりにくいです。早い改善を希望します ## Frequently asked questions about Amex Japan ### What can I do with Amex Japan?
