## What is AMOR App?

AMOR is an application developed by CoopCulture as part of the homonymous project (AMOR - Advanced Multimedia and Observation services for the Rome cultural heritage) aimed at the safeguarding and fruition of Rome cultural heritage.

The APP allows the download and purchase of tour itineraries and multimedia audio guides with Mixed Reality contents (AR and VR), produced with the scientific supervision of the various reference institutions.
It is a versatile product, designed to accompany tourists in the discovery of the rich cultural heritage of the city of Rome through maps, image galleries and multimedia content.

DOWNLOAD the app for FREE and access the list of itineraries and audio guides available, some free of charge and others requiring payment. After selecting the product, a general information screen with a trial audio will appear. If it is to your liking, you can purchase it.

The AMOR- Advanced Multimedia and Observation services for the Rome cultural heritage project, which will end in October 2022, is experimentally centered on two exceptional poles of the Roman cultural offer: the suggestive archaeological complex of the Baths of Caracalla and a southern section of the mighty Aurelian Walls (from Porta San Sebastiano to Porta Latina).

### 1/5 — Caracalla Baths guide issues

The Caracalla Baths guide has a lot of development issues that need addressing to justify its cost.

Firstly, the 3D VR is set to portrait mode with no way to adjust to landscape mode, so is effectively useless; however, you can the VR in landscape mode in 2D. The graphics are pretty basic, but they do help paint a better picture of how the baths would have appeared while in use. 

There is audio available for each viewpoint of the tour in both VR mode and simple audio guide mode, but the audio for viewpoint number 2 simply repeats again and again in rooms 3-6 while in VR mode.

There is no map of the grounds available on the app, which would have been of great help as the grounds are vast and physical signage is very spread out.

The audio guide did not offer much more than rudimentary information that one would expect to find in a brochure. It would have been wonderful if the developers could add more richly detailed commentary by archaeologists and historians. As I mentioned before, the grounds are *vast* and it would have been nice to listen to some commentary by experts on lesser known facts while strolling between guide points. There wasn’t any information available about the library or taverna.

I think the app is a great idea, but it is far from fully developed.

I used it as a audio/VR guide to Terme di Caracalla. The  experience was too poor, brief, buggy and old style for 2024 expectations.

Wir haben eine Tour für die Caracalla-Thermen gebucht. Nach 45 Minuten war die App down. Die Tour konnten wir nicht mehr abschließen…Die App läuft auch am nächsten Tag nicht mehr.
Grundsätzlich ist es aber eine schöne App, die Spaß gemacht hat. Ich hoffe sie läuft beim nächsten Besuch in Rom wieder.

Leider haben wir dasselbe Problem. Die App hat sich verabschiedet und lädt beim Wiederöffnen nur ohne sich endlich zu öffnen! Schade, denn wir hätten die Besichtigung gerne ohne technische Probleme zu Ende gebracht. Dafür sind €8,99 zu teuer!
