Providing an interface (e.g. via API, CLI, or MCP) for agents that already live on your desktop and can already touch most of your tools would totally solve this huge gap in usefulness, but so far Amplenote's devs have shown no interest or commitment in supporting this pivotal advancement! Highly **counterproductive**. ### 2/5 — App sux *2026-03-16, version 3.160* I tried adding a task to a my calendar, it didn’t work, it kept adding it to “jots” whatever that is. Too fiddly to use, the iPad interface sucks, it does everything except the thing I want it to do. Why does adding something to my calendar add it to everything except my calendar? ### 2/5 — Accessibility fail *2026-02-08, version 3.154* I really like this tool — the underlying functionality is way better for my task management style than anything else I’ve found. The learning curve is on the steep side compared to most other options (and this is coming from someone who loves OmniFocus), but the big fail for me is that the main user interface isn’t compatible with many of iOS accessibility options. For example, if you use the iOS accessibility options to increase text size beyond the typical range, the main menu becomes unreadable — in my case, showing me only a horizontal slice of the top 20% of each word. There are enough things like this that it’s clear that accessibility hasn’t been a priority in UX work for them, which is super unfortunate — after all, most disabilities come with a LOT of extra info and tasks to keep track of, often while sapping the executive function, energy, and/or available time to do so. ### 2/5 — Not working *2025-11-25, version 3.150* App has been great up to now. If you’re trying to actually get stuff done, Amplenote is the app to use. From the big things like Exchange Online integration and backlinks to the small things like efficiently nesting endless combinations of bullet points and task items, Amplenote stands apart and ahead of it’s competitors in a market that is saturated with contenders. ### 4/5 — Amazing app *2025-10-14* After using a number of to do app , I can say Amplenote has a little steep learning curve but once you get used to it . I have had the occasional thought that I should switch to another application but I just can’t find one that fits my needs as consistently and well as this application. I like that it is cross platform and so far syncing has been great. I love that it seems to still be continually developed and improved. Kudos to the Amplenote team for such a fantastic product. ### 5/5 — I’d Be Lost Without Amplenote! *2025-08-09, version 3.143* After years of looking for a replacement for Evernote, I stumbled across Amplenote 3 years ago. I love that they are a small company committed to productivity, innovation, and the fact that you are in control of your data! The way they structured notetaking, jots, and tasks with a calendar integration is excellent. I use the “Building a Second Brain” methodology for organizing my digital life and Amplenote fits right in. By by sticky notes! It doesn’t try to do too much which was my struggle with Notion or OneNote. It’s intuitive, powerful and great on desktop or mobile! I love the price point and the values they stand behind as a company. In a world of big tech and bad tech - they standout as a company doing it well! Tasks are cut off in the list when selecting a tag. Sometimes they reappear when switching tags, or when switching to and from the completed view. Even when sometimes showing, expanding the task leaves it hidden behind an invisible panel. Tasks view being the reason I wanted to use it, it’s not currently usable. ### 1/5 — Unable to delete *2026-01-11, version 3.153* I would like to remove this app as it is too expensive. I’m not able to do that. However, once I tried to input simple tasks to the calendar I was faced with barrier after barrier. I had to input calendar tags in order to see my tasks on the calendar. Then I had to figure out how to get my daily jot notes tag included under the work or personal tags before they would show up in the calendar tasks. Then I had to click around trying to find how to schedule the tasks into the calendar and found out you can’t simply add a time, you have to choose morning/afternoon/etc and then choose a set time from their list. And THEN you can’t simply drag tasks around on your calendar with touch like on any normal calendar app. Very unintuitive and a huge waste of time. ### 1/5 — Free forever is bait and switch *2022-05-13, version 3.33* Don’t believe the developers when the offer a free forever plan. The note filter for the widget stopped working a few updates ago. Also, it would really help if the widget could show multiple notes instead of only 1 note that has tasks only. Notes quickly become Tasks, Scheduling, and Calendar *2025-12-04, version 3.151* Amplenote has been incredible so far. I work in medical device sales and I’m also a startup founder, so I’m constantly wearing a lot of hats. Having a reliable system for capturing notes has always been a challenge—most scheduling tools are terrible for note-taking, and most note-taking apps don’t integrate well with time-blocking, task management, or calendar planning. Amplenote finally brings all of that together. Being able to start every idea in Jots, then seamlessly turn those thoughts into tasks, events, or follow-ups, has been a game-changer. Over the past month I’ve had a genuine shift in my productivity, and Amplenote has played a big part in that. Highly recommend. ### 5/5 — Awesome *2025-11-30* One Productivity app for all. I had reminders for different subjects in (don’t judge me) 3 different apps as well. My calendar was in Google calendar, having no desktop app bugged me to no end, and I was looking for an alternative for my PKM. Amplenote has replaced all of it. I won’t lie and say there’s no learning curve, but it follows the general flow of most tried and true productivity models (BASB, GTD, etc.) especially if you tweak your tag setup a bit. I know where the info I need is. I’m pushed to make more tasks and less useless note piles. It’s using literally HALF the memory on my laptop that Notion would take, not to mention no longer needing to run a separate task list at all, and the phone widget is awesome to boot. Community plugins are well made, responses to feedback and community voting boards help prioritize new features. The developers genuinely seem to care. It takes some learning up front, but not as much as you think. Nothing else is as thoughtfully designed or as capable. The free tier has a lot of features and the whole product just respects my time. Would heavily recommend giving it a try! ### 5/5 — Great for managing different sets of tasks *2025-11-01, version 3.145* I’ve only been using Amplenote a week, but it’s already been really helpful for me! I got it for the task/calendar integration. What I actually really like is being able to see a comprehensive list of tasks based off of different notes. So I can see, for example, my kitchen tasks alongside my plant care tasks. The task priority system helps me figure out what to do and not get so overwhelmed with everything.
