## What is Analog?

Make space for the moments that matter most
Analog creates digital boundaries in the physical spaces where you want to be fully present. A Beacon in your dining room, bedroom, or living room automatically guides phones into a quieter mode.

How Analog works
Place a Beacon in any room. When you or family members enter that space, phones automatically adapt–-only the apps you choose are available, notifications quiet down, attention shifts back to the real world and the people in it.

Peace of mind for parents. Autonomy and structure for teens. A shared boundary that everyone opts into. Analog working quietly in the background.

Boundaries that work with your life
Analog isn't about banning technology. Phones are incredible tools and a part of modern life. This is about using phones on your terms, in the places where presence matters most.

Set boundaries to only allow specific apps at specific times and places: only the alarm clock after bedtime; only educational apps during homework time; only reading apps on the weekend. Essential functions like calls always remain available.

Create different boundaries for different people. Parents might need different apps than teens. Each family member participates in the shared intention while maintaining the access they need.

How boundaries work
Instead of blocking only specific apps, you choose which apps remain available in each space. By default, phones become quiet—just the essentials you select stay accessible.
This means less management. You don't chase new apps or worry about what you forgot to block. You simply define what belongs in each space.

Boundaries that adapt to your rhythm
Create Analog Zones that fit how your family actually lives:
 - Location Zones — Boundaries apply to everyone in a space (e.g., around the dinner table)
 - Scheduled Zones — Boundaries apply in a space at specific times (e.g., bedrooms after 9pm)
 - Manual Zones — Start a shared boundary on-demand, regardless of location (e.g., family outing)

Parents can override any boundary instantly when needed. Full control, zero friction.

Built for families
Analog emerged from a simple problem: constant attention to phones robbing us of attention to each other. Staring at phones instead of talking to each other. Fighting over phones at bedtime. Doom scrolling instead of sleeping. The intention was always there, but the structure was missing.

Analog helps provide that structure. When physical spaces carry out our intentions, behavior follows naturally. Presence – shared and synchronous – becomes the default rather than having to be constantly enforced.

Simple to set up
Place the Beacon in a room. Tap to set up from the Analog app. Others tap to join. Digital boundaries then activate automatically, for everyone.

Beacons do not require WiFi and run on an enclosed battery that will last years. They ship to you on and ready to use.

Key features
 - Place and time phone boundaries that activate automatically
 - Shared boundaries with customizable app access for each family member
 - Parents can decide app access for their children
 - Multiple Beacon support for different rooms
 - Multiple ways to set up boundaries: by location, by location and schedule, on-demand
 - Phone calls always available
 - Privacy-focused—your app selections are private to you, and usage data stays on your device

A physical solution for a physical problem
Analog is both an app and a Beacon. The Beacon marks territory in the real world, quietly asserting that here, in this place, the people present take precedence.
It's designed to be seen. To remind everyone what matters.

Requires Analog Beacon
This app works in combination with one or more Analog Beacons, available at goanalog.co. Beacons create Analog Zones, which are managed by an Admin. Analog Zone Admins control when, how, and to whom phone boundaries are applied.

## Key features

- Automatic phone quiet mode in designated spaces
- Customizable app access per zone
- Location, scheduled, and manual zones
- Parental override controls
- Shared family boundaries
- Beacon device for automatic activation

### 5/5 — Easy and Effective Digital Boundaries

*2026-04-04*

It’s been great to setup Analog zones in our home to help setup guardrails that we set and agree to for ourselves and our teens to balance access and mitigate overuse. Protecting family time and wind down routines have been two big benefits. Very happy with Analog and highly recommend!

### 5/5 — A needed intervention!

*2026-03-13*

A simple solution to a growing problem of too much fragmented attention. —with 4 teenagers/young adults and 2 more just dying to be teens — We have been looking for something to help us set times and places where screens don’t rule the roost. Analog has allowed us ALL (parents included) to be more present when it matters - at dinner, in the morning rush and during focused work times. — the app and beacon together have been heaven sent. It’s showed us how much we had fallen into mindless phone checkers/zone-outers. We needed better discipline recovering control of family time and squashing the nighttime temptation to scroll.
We even took the beacons on our family trip and it was amazing how much fun we had together when not pulled into individual entertainment.
