## What is Analogue?

Analogue is a camera app built around Log capture, giving you cinematic colour, soft roll-offs, and natural contrast straight from the camera. No filters, tone mapping or over-sharpening, just real-time filmic results as you shoot.

Perfect for photographers who want cinematic photos, a softer look, and images that don’t need editing.

Features
· Two Capture Modes: Cine (Log) for softer, less processed photos, and Pro (Bayer RAW) for sharper, more detailed ones. The same Analogue look in both.
· Photo and Video Capture in LOG: cinematic dynamic range and subtle colour.
· RAW Capture: save RAW (DNG), RAW + Processed, or Processed, and reprocess your DNGs any time.
· Real-Time Presets: see your look before you shoot, save custom styles.
· LUT Import & Adjustment: import your own LUTs, fine-tune live.
· 6 Handcrafted Base LUTs: Neutral, CineChrome, Lowen, FP100F, Classic Negative, Ultra.
· Analogue Studio: reprocess photos and videos with different looks, now with full RAW processing. Fine-tune exposure, white balance, tint, and more, or open photos directly from iOS Photos with Share → Analogue.
· Cine Preview: a higher-quality live preview for Pro capture.
· Manual & Auto Exposure: full control with locking, compensation, shutter priority, and a 180° shutter angle bias for video.
· Full Lens Access: use every iPhone Pro lens, from 13mm to 120mm.
· SDR, P3 & HLG Video: graded recording on every iPhone, with film presets and LUTs applied to all three.
· Crop Modes: 4:3, 3:2, 5:4, 1:1, 16:9, and 65:24 XPan.
· Super Resolution: capture at 12MP, 24MP, or 33MP for sharing or large prints.
· Flash: now available for Pro capture.
· Film Grain: luminance-aware texture for natural depth.
· White Balance & Kelvin Control: presets or manual fine-tuning.
· Histogram & Highlight Clipping: exposure tools that show exactly what will clip before you shoot.
· Save Graded + Original Photos: keep both versions for flexibility.
· Startup Mode & Min. Shutter Speed: set how the camera opens and how it exposes.
· Fast, Minimal Interface: distraction-free shooting for photographers.

Analogue runs on all iPhones with iOS 18 or later. Cine capture and Apple Log video require an iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max, 16 Pro / Pro Max, or 17 Pro / Pro Max; on other iPhones you shoot Pro (RAW) photos and SDR, P3, or HLG video.

All features are available with a subscription (monthly or yearly) or a one-time purchase.

### 5/5 — Obsessed.

*2026-05-06*

This is my new favorite camera app, as a Fuji shooter, this is the perfect extension when I don’t have my camera on me. Love this app so much.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-02-14*

Love this app! Amazing and so fun. Thanks you!

### 5/5 — Awesome app, very cleaver

*2025-12-11*

Creating an app that uses the video pipeline to capture stills is amazing and the best feature I like from Panasonic cameras. Now one can shoot while previewing LUTs in real time and bake it + save RAW in case one wants to edit. Brilliant!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the review. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. It means a lot and helps support the app going forward.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-11-23*

Excellent at what it’s intended for, natural softer cinematic photos. Best camera app so far.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback. Appreciate the support!

### 5/5 — Wonderful captures with no over-processing!

*2025-10-30, version 1.0.7*

It’s genius to use Log for stills, as this completely eliminates the over-processed “smartphone look”. Plus, the ability to use real-time LUTs is superb for achieving exactly the look I want, straight out of camera, no edits required. I’ve loaded up some third-party Apple Log to Fujifilm film sim LUTs and loving the results.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-10-23*

Excellent at what it’s intended for, natural softer film photos.

### 3/5 — Generates low res images with a nice feel

*2025-10-01*

Analogue is a different and interesting approach to a camera app. From what I can tell, the app is in essence a frame capture utility. At this time, it captures an 8 MP image from an iPhone's video feed at a 16:9 aspect ratio, applies a LUT to it, and then upscales it to a 33 MP HEIC file. If you want a different aspect ratio, it crops the original 16:9 capture even further and then upscales to about 24 MP. It seems possible that the open gate capability of the 17 Pro models will improve the available resolution somewhat, but not anywhere close to the 48 MP of detail one can achieve with a camera app shooting in ProRAW.

Aside from the low resolution of the images it generates, the quality of the output is pleasing. The app comes with five built-in LUTs. The black and white Ultra LUT is a favorite. Shooting with Analogue feels a little like shooting with a FUJIFILM camera.

Analogue does offer manual controls for shutter speed and ISO that are adjustable in 1-stop increments, but compared to an app like ProCamera, it offers minimal options for configuration. It only generates HEIC files. No RAW. No JPG. Its lack of options makes the app pretty simple to use.

The real reason to use Analogue though is the feel of its images. Because every image starts as a low contrast, low resolution LOG image, its output does have a different feel. It’s a unique approach to the challenge of capturing images that look “less digital”.

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed review. You’re absolutely right about the trade-offs Analogue makes, it’s a very deliberate approach focused on feel and simplicity rather than maximum resolution or flexibility.

The goal isn’t to compete with ProRAW or more configurable apps, but to offer a different shooting experience and a look that feels less digital straight out of camera.

Appreciate the honest feedback, it genuinely helps shape where Analogue goes next.

### 5/5 — As good as Fuji

*2025-09-19*

I’ve been using Fuji cameras for years because the output from my phone has always disappointed me. This is the only app that rivals the shots I get on my X-T30. I bet if I put the same shot side by side, most wouldn’t be able to tell which came from my Phone and which came from my camera. Why travel with a camera/sd card/battery and endure the hassle of file transfer when I can get the same shots on my 16 pro max? I bought a lifetime license and enjoy using it every day.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words and support. As a Fujifilm shooter myself, I’m glad this resonates with you. Analogue was built to bring a similar shooting experience and look to the iPhone, without all the extra gear. Great to hear it’s become part of your everyday shooting.

### 5/5 — My new default camera for photography

*2025-09-14*

I love the simplicity, shooting options, and included LUT settings on this. A great app for anyone looking for more a natural look and less of the computational photography look that the iPhone typically produces. This has been an excellent companion to my Ricoh GR3 camera keeping my shots consistent between my camera and phone.

I’m locked in for the long haul and looking forward to future updates!

### 5/5 — Simplicity. Great results

*2025-09-09, version 1.0.2*

Great addition to the tools I use. It’s easy to use and offers full control where needed. The result you achieve is very natural and pleasing to the eye.
