## What is Anchor?

Your phone is designed to win. Anchor changes the odds by giving you a partner.

Every focus app eventually loses to the same thing: a weak moment and an off switch. That isn't a you problem. Your phone was built by thousands of people engineering that exact moment, and nobody outlasts it alone. Anchor pairs you with someone you trust, so you don't have to.

Anchor lets two people become accountability partners. You block the apps that pull you in, like social media, games, and endless browsers, and everything else stays open. When you genuinely need a blocked app, you don't just flip a switch. You send a request to your partner, and they answer. No secret overrides. No "just this once" at midnight. Real accountability, built into your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
• Pair with your partner by exchanging a simple code. Both of you install Anchor and opt in, and no
one is ever added secretly.
• Choose the apps that stay open. Everything else is blocked behind a shield, including apps you
install later.
• Need a blocked app? Send a quick request. Your partner gets a notification and can say yes
right from their phone, for as long as you both agree.
• Both partners see the same thing. There's no hidden "watcher." It's mutual by design.

PRIVACY AND CONSENT FIRST
Anchor is not a monitoring or "spy" app. Pairing requires both people to opt in by exchanging a code. Either person can unpair at any time, and the other is always notified. Both partners see identical information; there is no one-way surveillance. Everything Anchor does is disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

• Need a blocked app? Ask. Your partner can say yes in seconds, for exactly as long as you both agree.
• Done with a partnership? Unpair any time. The other person is simply notified.
• Done with Anchor? Delete it. Every block lifts immediately, and no one can stop you.
The lock only works because you could walk away, and choose not to.

Setting up is clearer now. The app picker shows you how to pick just the apps you want to keep open, with a short video right in the flow, and it warns you if a whole category gets selected by accident. iPhone allows at most 50 apps on your open list, so a small handful works best.

New: emergency passes. Each month you get up to 3 self-serve unlocks that open a blocked app for 15 minutes when your partner can't answer. Your partner is always told when one is used, and raising your monthly number needs their OK.

While you wait for your partner to join, you can keep setting up, and there is a button to send them the download link with your code.

Fixes and additions in this update:
- A request sent to more than one partner now reaches every partner, not just the first.
- Choose the sound your partner's requests arrive with, in Settings under Advanced.
- Tapping a request notification opens your partner's requests directly, instead of wherever you last left the app.
- You can turn off anonymous usage data in Settings under Advanced.
- The request count no longer sits on a stale number when the app cannot reach the network.
- Tidier settings layout and clearer guidance when choosing which apps stay open.
