## What is Anchor?

Anchor is a calm day planner designed around how ADHD brains actually work — built to get you through today, not to organise your entire life.

ROUTINES THAT WAIT FOR YOU
Steps never move on until you say so. Run long and the timer simply turns amber — "past your guess, no rush". Split a step, skip it, or keep going. Checklists live inside routine steps, so "Breakfast" can remember the meds.

REMINDERS THAT DON'T GIVE UP
One quiet buzz is easy to miss. Pick a style per task: Gentle (one nudge), Persistent (keeps trying), or Nuclear (breaks through). Every reminder offers a real next time — 10 minutes, an hour, tonight, tomorrow — never a bare dismiss.

CATCH A THOUGHT IN 2 SECONDS
Hold to talk, release, done — transcribed on your device with the audio kept. Capture from the Lock Screen widget, the Action Button, Siri, or your wrist. The keyboard is never required.

A DAY THAT BENDS, NOT BREAKS
One suggested Now — not a wall of everything. A timeline your tasks drift along when life happens. Nothing here turns red, nothing says overdue, and there are no streaks to break. Been away a while? "Welcome back. Nothing lost, nothing owed. How much day would you like?"

FULL APPLE WATCH APP
Your next step, Done and Skip, reminders you can act on, and dictation capture — right on your wrist.

YOURS, PRIVATELY
Pay once. Own it forever. No subscription, no trial that expires, nothing extra to unlock. No account, no sign-up, no analytics. Your data lives on your devices and syncs through your own iCloud — and you can export all of it as JSON any time.

Anchor is an organisation tool designed around published ADHD research. It is not a medical device and doesn't provide medical advice.

### 5/5 — Great Planner

*2026-08-11*

Even if you don’t have ADHD this is a great app for just dumping a todo list and organising a day. I especially appreciate the custom notification settings.

**Developer response:** Thanks Jas — glad it works for you that way. The notification settings took the longest to get right: the aim was reminders you can tune until they actually help, instead of shouting at you. Really pleased it's earning its place in your day.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2026-08-08*

I've downloaded so many planners that start strong and then just pile on more pressure - overdue badges, broken streaks, endless lists that scream at me. This one doesn't. It feels calm. It feels like it's on my side.
I open it and I'm not
immediately overwhelmed.
When I drift or disappear for a bit, it doesn't punish me. It just... waits. And that alone has made a bigger difference than any fancy system I've tried before.
It's the first app in a long time that actually feels designed for how my brain works instead of how productivity gurus think it should work. Quietly helpful. No guilt. Just gets me through the day a little easier.

Really glad I found it!

**Developer response:** Thank you — that's exactly what Anchor was built to avoid. Routines that wait for you, no pressure and no guilt when the day doesn't go to plan. Really glad it's landed well.

## Frequently asked questions about Anchor

### What is Anchor's primary purpose?

Anchor is a calm day planner specifically designed for how ADHD brains work. It focuses on helping you get through your current day with flexible routines and adaptive reminders, rather than organizing your entire life.

### How does Anchor handle tasks and routines?

Steps in routines only move forward when you confirm them, preventing tasks from automatically progressing. If a step takes longer than expected, the timer simply indicates it's past your guess without pressure. You can also split, skip, or continue steps as needed.

### What makes Anchor's reminders unique for ADHD users?

Anchor offers customizable reminder styles, including Gentle, Persistent, and Nuclear options, to suit different task needs. Each reminder provides clear options for rescheduling, such as '10 minutes,' 'an hour,' or 'tomorrow,' ensuring you can always set a realistic next time.

### How can I quickly capture thoughts with Anchor?

You can capture thoughts in about 2 seconds by holding to talk and releasing. The audio is transcribed on your device, and the audio is saved. This feature is accessible from the Lock Screen widget, Action Button, Siri, or your Apple Watch, eliminating the need for a keyboard.

### Does Anchor have a strict schedule or overdue system?

No, Anchor is designed to be forgiving. It presents a single suggested 'Now' task rather than a long list. Your timeline gently drifts if life happens, and there are no red indicators, overdue statuses, or streaks to break. It welcomes you back without any sense of obligation.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-11

Reminders now have a default style, so new tasks start the way you want — set it in Settings.

Giving a task a time is clearer. The timeline shows you where you're placing it, and you can choose a time from a picker instead of tapping if you'd rather. Task details can now put something on the timeline directly.

Nothing is one-way any more. Send a task back to the Inbox whenever you change your mind, and un-tick anything marked done by mistake — it keeps its time.

Fixed a crash at launch for anyone running Anchor on a Mac.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-07
