## What is Anchor?

Anchor is a private journal that never leaves your device. No accounts, no servers, no data collection. Your entries are encrypted on your phone and stay there.

Some days you do not want to type. Record a 60-second voice note instead. Recordings are encrypted on your device, exactly like your writing, and they travel inside your encrypted backup. Sixty seconds is the whole format: long enough for a day, short enough that you actually do it.

MEET KAI, YOUR JOURNAL COMPANION
Kai is an AI companion that reflects on your entries, looks at your dreams with you, or offers a prompt when the page stays blank. You bring your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic or DeepSeek) and you choose exactly which kinds of entries Kai may see. Nothing is shared by default, and conversations are stored only on your device.
