Very intertaining and addictive. Several levels & you can redo a level at different degrees of difficulty to further increase your enjoyment.

### 4/5 — A Recommended Title

*2015-01-12*

Ancient Battle: Hannibal lets you engage into battle as a commander, conquer lands and stomp enemies, this game is amazing. Set off as Hannibal and control your army. This game is amazing and if you like the Total War franchise, your experience will be better.

### 4/5 — It's great

It's great just bring back unit numbers

### 5/5 — Super

Very good, go ahead!

### 5/5 — Keep up the good work

*2014-09-06*

Nice variety of scenario types. The series keeps getting better. Hope you keep making others.

### 4/5 — Quite a good little wargame

*2014-08-31*

A real, classic hex and counter style wargame, well implemented with a competent AI at the lower difficulty levels (haven't tried the higher yet). Too many app games masquerade as wargames but have minimal historical background, rather childish game play, simply seek to put a historical skin on yet another WOW-type build engine, or try to combine strategic and tactical, doing neither realistically. This gives a feel of the tactics of ancient warfare without too much complexity--GMT's Great Battles of History meets WRG's De Bellis Antiquitatis.

### 5/5 — Being Hannibal

*2014-08-27*

Great fun. Ability to blow map out a big gain. Troop variety excellent and accurate. Incredible value for money.

### 5/5 — Epic historical battles

### 1/5 — Indegno.

*2014-08-31, version 1.0*

Consigliato solo a chi vuole buttare i soldi.Davvero brutto.

### 2/5 — Discouraged

*2014-12-30*

In the game ITALIA game #5 UMBRIA playing in CASUAL I am the Romans. I have played this game six times and never won. I have offered eight different friends $20 to anybody that can win this game. Nobody has ever won and the worst part about it is you cannot advance to the next game until you've won this one. This pisses me off!

### 2/5 — Hannibal

*2014-08-26*

I love this company's Ancient Roman and Ancient Greek games, but this is not in the same ballpark. It is so glitchy it is amazing. You win and it tells you you lost. You check a unit's capabilities and the graphics disappear. The history is good, but this is very disappointing. Please release a fix for all the glitches. Wait a few months before purchase and maybe they'll fix it,

### 2/5 — Great idea, needs work

*2014-08-22*

This game gets very frustrating. You start off being able to move your units basically to the other side of the map, but later in each level it only lets you move each unit 1 or 2 spaces at a time. Seems like a pointless restriction to me. Was there a limit to how far units could move when these battles actually took place? The worst part might be that while you may only move a few spaces, the enemy is able to move seemingly wherever they want. Conclusion? Once your troops get to a certain point on the map they are doomed. I've obviously only had the game a day so I'm still figuring it out, but it's also frustrating when trying to destroy camps, you clear all enemies but every single time without fail more enemies spawn which is extremely annoying because normally you have to destroy the camps in a certain number of turns or restart the level. How do I get to the camps if endless enemies spawn in front?? O.o also, a more descriptive tutorial would help, i.e actually talking about other things than troop type like basic game mechanics? Maybe explain why each troop is only allowed to move a certain number of spaces, because honestly I'm clueless on that. It's not possible mathematically to destroy a camp 30 tiles away in under 14 turns while only being allowed to move 1 or 2 spaces and killing enemies at the same time.

### 3/5 — A Bit Anticlimatic

*2021-10-10*

Not really a bad game, but I do feel like some scenarios (particularly the ones in Africa) just aren’t as epic in execution as that in other games. Also, the first mission for the Romans in Africa seems bugged, and I just found it easier to destroy the enemy army rather than lure them into the trap.

Otherwise, not that bad of a game, but I believe Rome succeeds more in the ancient battle experience

### 3/5 — A few suggestions for improvement

*2014-09-02*

Perhaps the best example of a physical wargame I've come across on the iPad, there are still a couple of suggestions I have that would make it even better:

1) Rather than campaign driven, I would make it scenario drive (the current method means you can't choose to play a battle until you complete those before it
2) when you zoom out, I would put a colour coded base (per army) under the characters so you can see which is yours and which is the enemies - I find it currently difficult to tell who belongs to whom

### 4/5 — Some senarios impossible to win

*2023-05-21*

Gauls get non stop reinforcements in Rhoadannus

### 4/5 — Good basic game

*2015-11-22*

Graphics could be better. Good play with combining cavalry tactics and infantry assaults. Wish cavalry skirmishes could launch javelins and then move not just move and throw but throw and then move

### 4/5 — Great little strategy war game

*2015-11-09*

There used to be a PC game called Great Battles of Hannibal that I loved. This is that game reengineered on iPhone.

### 4/5 — Good time filler

*2015-05-17*

Good game that provides a potted history of the period. Annoying quirk is that light missile armed troops have an endless supply of ammo and can keep just running away.

### 5/5 — Best strategy format for iPhones

*2015-10-06*

Love this game and the similar variants. I think the hex war is the best way to play strategy games on iPhone, battles can be 5 mins or 30mins. Plenty of options means you really get your money's worth

### 5/5 — Gute Rundenstrategie

*2015-09-24*

Ich liebe diese Art von Spiel. Und die Karthagerversion der Ancient Battles-Serie macht genausoviel Spaß, wie die bisherigen Teile.
Es läuft leider etwas weniger stabil.

### 5/5 — Carthage

*2015-08-12*

A very good game. One side tons of light troops, the other, chunks of solid infantry.Tactics play a big part.eg;using units on 1 or 2 points to block skirmishers retreat,so they can't evade.
Field of Glory,it ain't,but it's damn close.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2015-07-19, version 1.3*

Very good

### 5/5 — Awesome game

*2015-03-31*

The game is awesome, I have extremely enjoyed it. Hope there is more to come in the ancient battle category.

*2014-10-24*

This game is the reason I have an iPad. Another excellent addition to this Ancient Battle series. The different units look great, the gameplay is very good. Can't wait for the Napoleonic series!

### 5/5 — Stu.r

*2014-10-19*

### 5/5 — Great ancients wargame
