However, the English to Greek search has been broken for some time so that I am not able to select and use it. ### 3/5 — Needs an update *2021-06-04* Great app really, love the options and the functionality. Simple to use and useful. Unfortunately, I’m having some trouble across my devices using this app: the dictionary function won’t let me choose between normal, beta and reverse. I’m stuck with normal. ### 4/5 — Stopped updating? *2021-01-02* I love this app and have used it for years but now the Betw and Reverse sections of the dictionary don’t work? ### 3/5 — Not as good as its Latin counterpart *2020-12-29* SPQR has Latin-English and English-Latin dictionaries, and an excellent Latin parser that I found very useful when learning the language . In contrast this app only has Greek-English despite advertising English-Greek, at least on my iPad. (The English button is greyed out.) This app also lacks a primer. ### 4/5 — Great App *2019-03-16* It’s very similar to SPQR. Two suggestions though: on the home page it’s be cool to have the quotes in Greek as well. It’d also be really nice to have the Greek New Testament or some church fathers. ### 5/5 — Wonderful *2017-09-20* I love this app. It is the best Ancient Greek app available on the App Store. I am so excited that it was finally updated, and I sincerely thank the developer for putting the effort to make it a 64 bit app. ἰδού! Don’t be fooled by the version history saying “Updated to support iOS 11,” it’s not just that. It now supports split view (yes that’s right, SPQR doesn’t even support that) and it is now properly scaled for the iPad Pro. χαίρετε! ### 5/5 — Thanks for updating! *2017-09-20* While not everyone needs an Ancient Greek dictionary (which also contains the texts of pretty much all the Greek authors worth reading, with the exception of Thucydides), most anyone who's made the considerable to learn the language will be endlessly grateful that such a well-designed product exists. Currently 2/3 of the dictionary functions are not selectable on the interface. ### 1/5 — Abandoned? *2022-04-28, version 2.0* This was a great app, and could still be a great app, but it hasn’t been updated in four years. Reverse and beta code lookup no longer work. Will it survive the App Store removal of unupdated apps? It needs an update to remain functional for newer devices. ### 1/5 — Do not buy this app *2014-12-29* I'm currently studying Ancient Greek at university so thought it would be useful to have a quick and easy Ancient Greek dictionary, opposed to having to scan through a paper one, but this app is unable to identify even basic greek words such as ανδρός or άλλους. Absolutely useless. DO NOT BUY ### 2/5 — Okay *2020-08-24, version 2.0* Reverse search dictionary will not work. ### 2/5 — Good effort *2018-04-09, version 2.0* Similar to , but faster than online searches. Alas, unless I missed them, the app is missing the definitions of abbreviations/reference notes. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2016-08-04* I thought is was going to be like the Latin app. where you could click on the word and its definition would be visible. Instead it just shows a text and translation. This a real let down. I feel cheated by this. I want my money back. For those wanting help learning Greek this isn't the app. for you. Finally in response to the negative review about not being able to find simple words in the dictionary: you have to put the nominative form in the search not oblique cases. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Daily Use *2023-10-31* This app has been of such great value to the work and research I do in regards to Ancient Greek texts. The dictionary is the part I use the most, but all aspects are useful and easy to use. I hope that one day there will be an AI translator upgrade. ### 5/5 — Use it everyday! *2023-07-02* I use this app daily. It’s the full version of the big Liddell and Scott dictionary for a tenth of the cost if purchased through Logos Software. ### 5/5 — Great and handy app *2020-07-01, version 2.0* This and the Latin app are my go to dictionary apps while reading texts. The only issue I have is that the beta code and reverse search options seem to no longer work. Maybe this is an iOS update problem?? My only issue is that I can’t seem to search in reverse mode (it appears but is blocked when I try to choose it). The same is the case with the Beta-code mode. Those little boxes are no longer responsive. My device is iPhone Xs.
