I thought they were helpful. The case studies are hard and overly specific. My biggest complaint are the rationales, they could be one of the best tools for learning but they are basically useless on this app. They just tell you the answer is right or wrong without telling you why. boosterprep has amazing rationales, even though the questions aren’t bad harder. ### 2/5 — Good material; Horrible UI *2026-01-01, version 6.1* Good practice questions and flashcards… If only they were easy to access. Too many bugs and crashes. This shouldn’t be happening when the app is nearly $20 imo ### 2/5 — Many incorrect questions *2024-12-27, version 6.0* This board review has many questions that directly contradict what is stated in the AndyRDH review book. Giving it two stars because it at least motivates me to find and know the correct answer. ### 2/5 — Could be better *2024-05-01, version 6.0* If it worked all the time it could be useful but it often glitches out and freezes, you have to constantly delete it and redownload. ### 4/5 — Needs updates but worth it *2023-07-19, version 6.0* It has all the subjects and in general the app is working. It’s a great tool to use when you’re on the go and you still want to study! The issue is the app needs some updating and maintenance. Few questions/info are outdated, there is a few typos, and one time I had to delete the app because it glitches and doesn’t display the questions or doesn’t let you finish a section. I still recommend this app despite these things. But it’s better than the competitors atm and until then I’d get this one to study. ### 4/5 — Good but needs work *2022-12-30, version 6.0* I love this app for the content, but it’s a little buggy. Every time I login, my graduation timer resets, the x-rays are very hard to see, and I wish all of the rationales actually gave the definitions instead of “this is not correct.” ### 2/5 — Questions need updating *2020-06-23, version 5.5* Needs updated questions got a question wrong bc it says you need premed for artificial joint which is FALSE. You used to but you don’t have to now . This is also specified on the ADA website ### 1/5 — Too many app issues *2020-06-04, version 5.5* Content was ok but definitely outdated. Used the app for a few hours and had no issues initially. Now the app won’t show any content and gives me a “something wrong try again” message or tells me my login information is incorrect. Do not buy this app!! Waste of money!! ### 2/5 — Something went wrong *2020-06-04, version 5.5* Loved it until it stopped working for me. I read other reviews of this happening but decided to buy it anyways. It worked for a while but the now. When I need it most. It just keeps telling me something went wrong and nothing loads. Somethings could have been better like the rationales for some questions and I noticed 1 or 2 that didn’t match up with my notes. But those little things were easy to look passed while it was working. So so sad now. ### 1/5 — AWFUL *2020-06-04, version 5.5* This app is awful!! DO NOT BUY IT! The rationales are terrible, it will just say “that’s not the answer or this is the answer” many of the questions are wrong. The app hasn’t been updated in about 3 years so the questions are old. I contacted Andy to tel him and he said they try to update it but clearly they don’t based on how many answers are wrong. 10 days before my exam and the app crashed so DONT get it ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASE *2026-01-08, version 6.1* I live in Canada and just paid 56$ for this app to prepare for my board exam. I can’t even sign up for the app because it is only available in the US. Don’t do it. I’ve never downloaded an app that glitches this horribly. Andy needs to completely redo it because the last thing stressed hygiene students need while preparing for boards is an unreliable app service! Beyond disappointed I didn’t heed the other reviews and gave it a shot. Seriously, do not drive yourself crazy trying to get this app to work like I did! Response to theirs: No one ever said anything to me about internet connectivity so I don’t know why they responded with that. What a horrible way to respond to frustrated and stressed customers when your product doesn’t work for them. ### 1/5 — Scam *2022-01-19, version 5.8* Downloaded the app in hopes of studying. I was never able to gain access to the material. It won’t even let me log in. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2021-04-01, version 5.7* This app is not what I expected to actually have to pay for something that barely works...I should be able to go to every subject and every mock board but it only lets me do a few subjects and only 1 mock board. The app was definitely not worth paying for! I’ll stick to Student RDH where I’m getting my money’s worth! ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2020-09-02, version 5.5* Straight up doesn’t work on iPad or iPhone. Been trying for days but I just keep getting an error message. When I try to contact the App support, it just leads to nothing. I made 3 accounts with 3 different emails. Never got the verification so I can not access any account. Wasted $15. Do not purchase this app. ### 1/5 — Just okay *2020-07-19, version 5.5* I was expecting more from this app. There are NO rationales for why a question is wrong. Some of the questions seem outdated. My progress was erased each time I closed the app and then after a week of use my username/password isn’t even recognized. Like when you do mock up exam, you choose answer and you cannot go back to see the question especially when there is an image in the question. It would be useful to go back and see the xray again after you know the correct answer. ### 5/5 — Absolutely love it! *2024-10-24* I used this in conjunction with other studying methods and would recommend to others. The practice tests helped me understand topics that I should go over more for the board. Thank you Andy ! *2024-02-28, version 6.0* I used this app along side the textbook and they complimented each other greatly ! ( the online access of the modules for the textbook via computer is GREAT!!! I Felt like it broke down the material in a crash course ) The questions give you a great baseline for how questions on the boards are worded. However , lots of people ask if these questions show up on their exam and in my experience no. But some of my classmates who used the app said they had a handful. The case studies on this app are hard ! But it’s a great way to prepare you for the boards. The boards are straightforward you just have to read EVERYTHING and think. These cases studies in the app are not the best quality of pictures but it’s good because it makes the boards feel easier to comprehend. If you’re looking at purchasing this app as your ONLY source of studying I wouldn’t recommend. ### 5/5 — passed my boards 1st try! *2024-02-28, version 6.0* i used andys book (which i bought from a previous graduate) and this app to study for my national board exam. Lots of questions to help jog your memory. Perfect to use especially if you didn’t buy the Andy book and online use! I highly recommend this along with another study source. I would use it whenever I was on the go, and while I was on a study break at the gym. The radiology landmarks were especially helpful.
