It’s great. The app is not as user friendly. I’d love the option for individual chats and not just a group family chat. It would be easier and less confusing for the kiddo. Especially if they’re in a split family. The password / log in for the app is a pain. Everyone needs to be told the password must be 8-12 characters with at least one capital letter, and NO special characters. That is not outlined. It will let you change your password to whatever you want but when you go to log in with a password that doesn’t meet the requirements it just deletes your password and you can’t log in. I had to do email support to figure this out. ### 3/5 — Kinda works… *2021-09-18, version 2.1* Idk. Just got the watch recently, but I also feel like I didn’t get a brand new number for one of child’s watch. I get notifications that he’s receiving text from scams and also from an app I know of that is definitely not on the watch and my child does not even use. So either I got someone else’s number or someone else got the number we’re using. I’ll give it a few more days but after a week if it’s the same… I may return the watches. ### 2/5 — Lacking in features *2021-08-15, version 2.0* Wanted to be able to see my child’s Oxygen level with and without a mask since they are having to wear one all day and we have a health issue. I cannot see oxygen level on my app while my kid is in school. Because of the app I will not buy the watch it won’t let me login to see the app features. When you click away, anywhere, the password wipes away. I spent more than 8 hours with support to resolve the issue to no avail. I think this product needs more time in development to launch. It is too difficult to troubleshoot and too many errors that are time costly to attempt to fix. ### 2/5 — Notifications Don’t Work on iPhone *2021-06-08, version 1.0.1* I just activated the Angel Watch for my 8 year old - it’s working fine, but I’m not getting any notifications on my iPhone when my son sends a chat. I checked the settings on my phone and all notifications are enabled. Still nothing :( ### 1/5 — Login issues *2021-05-14, version 1.0.1* Just got this watch and had issues from the get go. Watch was reset do you login issues, created new account with my email, and had to reset the password several times 5x now and still can’t login in with new password email is correct because I am getting verification codes to reset it. Can’t even use the dang watch like it is meant to be used. So far app is horrible ### 1/5 — Wanted to like it *2021-05-14, version 1.0.1* I’ve had so much trouble with the Angel Watch. The few times it has worked properly, my kid was able to walk to a nearby playground without me and I could easily check in. But a lot of the time the watch has trouble connecting to 4G, so we can’t use it at all. Supposedly it should still be able to make phone calls, but I’ve never been able to get it to make a call successfully. The app is confusing, and it will seem like you’ve done something right (such as adding a contact to the phone book), but then the contact disappears. The GPS is slow and not very accurate. It sometimes would show my child as being two blocks from where she was. Customer service is very responsive, but they can’t always solve the problem. I’m on my second watch with this company and I’m about to give up. ### 1/5 — App crashes *2021-01-22, version 1.0.1* What sounded like a wonderful product pairs with a horrific app that continuously rejects my log in rendering the service essentially useless. The product is to help communicate and monitor children, but I’ve only been able to access the app a few times since subscribing. It has all the great features I want except geofencing but unfortunately seems very unreliable, which is arguably worse than nothing. ### 1/5 — SCAM: User support no longer provided *2025-09-19, version 2.5* Having bought AngelWatches previously and found them really useful, I upgraded to the new device for my kids but when I ran into trouble trying to set them up, Angelwatch have ghosted me. They won’t answer any emails or other forms of online communication. They’re selling watches but no tech support at all. The app setup was horrendous to start, and once you do get it setup it is missing half the features it claims to have. I see notifications that my child sent me a picture or message but when you open the app it’s not there. Support team will never get back to you on the issues are experiencing either. Listen to the comments, save yourself and do not buy this watch. ### 1/5 — It started out good but…. *2023-03-15, version 2.5* I have more complaints than I do praise. Great concept but the execution still needs work. When I really needed assist for our lost watch. I didn’t get any help to recover it. Thankfully, I was able to find it unassisted. Not because of the app but just a prayer and a blessing. Which brings me to now restore the device and pairing. I thought it would be a breeze but getting the watch back on track was a headache. After taking all day with customer service and just tinkering with the watch. And experience being locked out of my app for 24hour because I was using the app to much. Of course I was using the app I’m trying to fix my freaking watch. Any more annoyed but I do like the features when it does work in comparison to other kids watch’s. It has it bugs but I think these issues can be fixed . Hopefully soon. Update : At this point I do not recommend it’s 3/15 and now Angel watch brand will not respond to any call emails or contact of any sort. I have not been able to get my issue with my watch resolved. The fact that a company is avoiding a customer is mind blowing.I didn’t expect a company to have a tantrum when you the customer is trying to get your product fixed. Wow the level of avoidance is baffling. Very displeased. Do not recommend. ### 1/5 — Works half the time *2022-08-18, version 2.3* The app has enormous amount of bugs. Location accuracy is joke, even when the watch is outdoors with clear sky. Messages in the app are not sorted by date so you don’t really know which message is from when. Half the time you receive notification of a new message but when you go to the app, there isn’t any new messages. This is product is mostly useless for the purpose it advertises. The only thing that is working properly is the phone calls but I wouldn’t spend so much money for that feature only. Very disappointed. You can get an Apple Watch older generation for the same price which would be superior by significant margins. ### 1/5 — Please don’t waste your time and money *2022-07-20, version 2.3* I purchased the watch, downloaded the app and used the sim card they provided spent over 8 hours trying to set it up and it does not work. Unable to login because every time you enter the password and then click login, the password disappears from the field and nothing happens. Sure hope the watch isn’t as bad as this iOS app. Glad I’m in trusting my child’s life to this device ### 1/5 — Save yourself the headache *2021-10-20, version 2.1* The app is riddled with issues. The functionality is very spotty and defeats the purpose of purchasing the watch. Here is the laundry list :The app does not notify you when you have a message from your child, the only way to know is if you go into the app and see a red dot by the chat. The video calling doesn’t come through most of the time. When you add contacts to the app it’s takes several tries to sync to the watch even thought it says it was successful. The sound guardian call back feature doesn’t always work. The consistent issues is that the app does not connect well with the watch. It is not reliable. Highly recommended. *2020-08-28, version 1.0.1* I found this app very easy to use and intuitive. Registration was straightforward (just scan a QR code) and everything worked right away. We decided to go with their cell partner Red Pocket GSMA and it worked right away. We just activated the SIM card and everything worked perfectly. Things I love about this product/app: 1) Really easy to set up and works right away 2) It's reliable and works great. Haven't had any issues with any features. 3) Has far more features and capability than others in the market 4) Feels like a quality product with a clean app 5) It's free with no subscription 6) We can add all of our kids and their watches onto the same app and see them all there on the map 7) I can control everything on the watch from the app 8) Video calls are clear and easily audible Things I don't love: 1) Messages are shared between all family members. Guess you have to think of it more as a group chat than one-on-one messaging. I can live with it. 2) Can't change the watch's ringtone, but it's not bad and you can change the volume 3) Sometimes it takes a min for a message to arrive onto the watch when sent from the app. Messages from the watch to the app are fast though. Could be more of a service issue. Overall: This watch is a great product and well worth it. It’s not some Chinese junk and feels like a more sophisticated product with their own ecosystem. Or like the Gizmo that only works half of the time, is the same price and doesn’t even have video calling. I love that I can offer my kids a cell phone with all the most useful parts effectively that isn't a cell phone that has a bunch of social media apps, internet, etc. This product really is a 'digital tether' and we're really happy to have this. It has already become indispensable and allows my daughter to bike home now that the school buses are a total disaster story.
