But beyond that, I love hearing pieces of Catholic history, and each day my respect grows and deepens. Father Dan’s voice is one that is rooted in knowledge, love and experience. God bless! 🙏 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Full of AI Slop *2026-08-20* There is a serious lack of traditional Catholic prayers, and everything—from the artwork to “Brother Michael” to even many of the prayers—is clearly AI generated slop. **Developer response:** I'm sorry it landed this way for you. On the artwork you're right, and I won't dress it up: the images are AI-generated, chosen to fit the prayer, passage, or reading plan. That's a deliberate choice on our side, and I understand it's a line some people don't want crossed in a Catholic app. We do have the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours, the Litanies and the classic prayers of the Church in the app. If there are traditional prayers you were expecting and didn't find, please let us know and we'll add them. "Ask Brother Michael" is gone. it's now "Ask AngelGuard," because too many people read the name as clergy. What we're trying to build is a Catholic spiritual-warfare app that's strong enough to matter and simple enough to actually use every day. We're clearly not there for you yet, and feedback like yours is what we use to get closer. ### 1/5 — Fake AI priest. Paid prayers. No thanks. *2026-08-16* I downloaded AngelGuard expecting a Catholic app. Instead, I found an AI character pretending to be a priest and prayer features locked behind payment. That is completely backwards. A chatbot is not a priest. Prayer is not a premium feature. Charging people for access to prayers while dressing AI up as clergy feels cheap, manipulative, and honestly disturbing. For a Catholic app, this misses the mark badly. Delete the fake priest and stop monetizing prayer. **Developer response:** Thank you for saying this plainly. This is the kind of feedback that actually changes something. You're right about the priest. We thought we had made clear that "Ask Brother Michael" was AI, but you're not the only person who read it as clergy... and if it reads that way, we didn't make it clear enough. It's now called "Ask AngelGuard." No persona, no ambiguity about what it is. On prayer: part of the app is paid, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do try to get right is that the free version is a real experience and not a demo.. more than 25 prayers, the reading plan introductions, the Household Vigil, the bible and some of the music are all free. If AngelGuard still isn't the right fit for you, we understand that. That's not a small thing when it's your prayer life. We're not affiliated with any priest, ministry or diocese, and we don't claim to be. Brother Michael is our narrator. What he prays comes from the Church herself, the Rosary, Compline, the prayers of the saints. If something in the app gave you a different impression, I'd really like to know what it was. "Brothers"can'tbe exorcist *2026-05-16* The people behind this app have been impersonating Father Dan Reehil on their YouTube channels, and have some "brother" as their "resident exorcist" which is a blatant lie as brothers cannot be exorcists. All of Father Dan Reehil things are free online, as well as Monsignor Rosetti – his app is wonderful. The voice seemed perfect but my search suggested it is fully AI generated - diminished the experience for me. **Developer response:** Thank you for this. AngelGuard has afforded me the tools I needed to work through these challenges. I’m able to find comfort and am reading the Bible now .
