## What is Anila Breath?

Anila is a breathwork app you can make your own — and it's beautiful enough
that you'll want to.

Start in one tap: the Breathe tab offers a practice suited to the time of day,
and a luminous orb paces every breath with optional haptic taps, so you can
close your eyes and simply follow the feeling.

THE LIBRARY
Coherent breathing, box, 4-7-8, the physiological sigh, extended exhale,
alternate-nostril, Ujjayi, a CO₂ tolerance ladder and more — grouped by how you
want to feel: Calm, Sleep, Energize, Focus, Balance.

FIND YOUR PACE
Slide to the breathing rate that feels easy, watch the orb take it up, then
practise at exactly that rhythm — your own resonance, not a textbook's.

BUILD YOUR OWN
Presets and your own creations share one format, so you can assemble any
pattern of inhale, hold, exhale and stillness — mixing breathwork and
meditation into a single savable timeline.

A DAILY ROUTINE
Pin the practices you return to, and see your rhythm in the You tab: mindful
minutes, your week at a glance, and a streak that only counts sessions you
actually breathed.

LEARN
Nine long-form essays on the breath — the first five minutes, why the exhale
calms, resonance, carbon dioxide, a short history of pranayama — with drawn
diagrams, plus an FAQ, a full guide, and a science page with named citations
and honest limitations.

THE KRIYA PATH
An optional, gently gated journey into a contemplative tradition, with its
teachings, a glossary, and original illustrations.

APPLE WATCH
Standalone sessions on your wrist with haptic pacing — practise with the screen
down and just feel each change of breath.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Fully offline. No account, no tracking, no ads, and no servers to send anything
to. Your practice stays on your device, and completed sessions can be saved to
Apple Health as Mindful Minutes — on your device only.

Anila is for personal practice and reflection. It is not medical advice and does
not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Some advanced practices (forceful
breathing, breath holds) ask you to confirm you're set up safely before they begin.
Stop and breathe normally if you ever feel dizzy or unwell.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.1 — 2026-08-19

Anila 1.8.1 — your sequences, safe.

• Back up everything you've built: Settings → Your data → "Export your
sequences" saves a file you keep; "Import sequences" brings it back —
  on this phone or a new one. (Your data lives only on your device;
deleting the app deletes it, so export before you ever reinstall.)
• The You tab's "Your sequences" now opens the Library showing just
  yours — no more hunting.
• Honest help: the FAQ now says plainly that there's no between-device
sync yet, and to use Update (never delete-and-reinstall) when a new
  version arrives.

As always: private by design, fully offline, no account.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-18

Anila 1.7.1 — your copies, truly yours. From a user report, fixed with care:

• Copies now keep the original practice's name, wear a small "Yours" mark,
and appear right in the feeling section you chose — Calm, Energize,
  Sleep — alongside the originals.
• Rename and re-file any of your practices: touch and hold → Rename or
Move to, or use the ⓘ details page.
• Building is easier: start the Builder from any library practice, see the
total length as you edit, drop in a classic shape (box, 4-7-8, coherent)
in one tap, and pin a fresh save as a daily practice right from the
  confirmation.

As always: private by design, fully offline, no account.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-17

Anila 1.7 answers the two questions you actually asked us.

• "How do I do this one?" Every practice with real mechanics — pursed lips,
the humming bee, the tongue-curl of Sheetali, alternate nostrils, the
bellows breaths, the ladders — now teaches itself: step-by-step
instructions before your first session, and always readable from the
  practice's ⓘ page.
• "Can I change the timings?" You always could — now you can find it. Every
technique's details page has "Adjust timings": it opens the Builder with
that practice filled in, as your own copy. Change any count, save, and
your version lives beside the original.
• Create from the Breathe tab. The Builder now has a door right on the home
screen — breath, meditation, or both, at your own timings.
• Gentler, clearer sessions. While Anila is new to you, Pause and End stay on
screen the whole session; a paused breath now says "Paused"; open holds
explain themselves; and the reflection afterward counts exactly what you
  practiced — never more.

As always: private by design, fully offline, no account.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-14

Anila 1.5 makes the whole app breathe.

• A living session. The orb is now drawn by the graphics engine behind the
opening — a nebula of light that moves inside the body of the orb, stills
itself while you hold, and glows at the rim to say "steady, keep holding."
• A new opening. The app is born out of darkness: one spark unfurls into the
full aurora, stars arrive one by one, and the occasional meteor crosses the
sky. Three quotes on the breath settle in, one at a time, written word by
word. One tap begins whenever you're ready.
• Every screen breathes. Backgrounds drift on the same slow rhythm as your
practice, the grain moves like film, and the glass bar holds a pool of light.
• The Breathing Room. Nine long-form essays in Learn — from The First Five
Minutes to A Short History of Pranayama — with drawn diagrams, honest reading
times, and a quiet checkmark when you've read one. After a session, the
afterglow offers you one you haven't read yet.
• On Apple Watch. The wrist orb has real depth now — a hot center, an edge lit
from above — and releases small embers as you breathe out.

Plus a Library search field that's there when you need it, and reference pages
that now share one source of truth with the practice library.

As always: private by design, fully offline, no account.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-11

A small polish to the new look: the glass tab bar now settles into the
bottom of the screen properly — content fades gently into the dark beneath
it instead of showing through around the bar.

As always: private by design, fully offline, no account.
