Very good educational app that teaches spelling and gives the challenges while playing game with a toddler. ### 4/5 — Sa *2012-04-20, version 1.1* I like ### 4/5 — Grammar and spelling errors *2012-04-09* Overall, my kids love this app. They enjoy moving the puzzle pieces to where they go, and listening to the different animal sounds. Learning wise, however, I have a couple of issues. First of all, there is at least one spelling mistake. The word "pigeon" is spelled incorrectly. There may or may not be more, but I haven't checked. That's the one that just happened to stand out when I was sitting with my daughter. Second, as an elementary teacher, I feel that none of the words should start with a capital letter. They are not at the beginning of a sentence, nor a proper noun, so they should all be lowercase letters. When children write these words, they are generally writing them as a noun, so they should be taught to use the correct capitalization within this app. Overall, this is a pretty good "game." If the errors were fixed then it would be a great learning tool, as well! ### 4/5 — Nice *2012-03-27* Nice interactive app. Need to look at the spelling of pigeon though. Anyone who puts ads in a child's app has some moral conflicts that differ than most common people's. my daughter was constantly in the App Store from the ads so since she liked this app I paid to have no ads. I confirmed it with apple & the verified my purchase but guess what it lasted 3 days & I've had ads ever since! ARE YOU ENJOYING MY $$?? Do what's right & remove the ads you shady dev. You've costed me more $ than I'd like to admit. Don't download this for your kid(s) & get them something different. ### 1/5 — Pretty bad *2012-03-20, version 1.0* This is really pretty bad as educational aps go. I didn't get as far as the typo before I decided to delete it. I'm not sure what age this is aimed at. But he gets so frustrated as to why he NEVER earns 5 stars on any of the games. This is clearly a game for young children. So why not give them 5 stars if they get all of the answers right? I don’t get what he has to do to get them. I have tried myself and no matter how fast we complete a puzzle with zero errors, the most we ever get is 4 stars but that’s rare. It’s usually 1, 2, or 3.. Fix this, and I will let my son play it again because he gets so upset when he can’t get 5 stars he has to stop playing the game so I’ve deleted it. Shelled out for the full version to remove the ads and hopefully get him stars and nothing. Also why are the graphics on the whale and shark so dark? It’s odd. Main issue is the stars thing. Give the darn stars to the toddlers. This app combines his love of animals along with puzzles and the names of the animals. My favorite aspect is that after each animal is named verbally, the individual letters each turn color and bounce in succession until the word is spelled. It is a great teaching tool!
