This has to be one of the most entertaining and original books out there, I have the print version and now the digital version - for 0.99 are you kidding me? I've never enjoyed a graphic novel as much as I have enjoyed this. I can just imagine what else things like this could bring. I wish part 2 was coming sooner. First, this thing is packed with features besides the core content (the novel/book/comic/movie) like encyclopedias with information about all kinds of things and characters, and much more. The book/comic it is beautifully hand painted with parallax movements making things come to life. And actual good professional voice acting on top of it all really just draws you in even more. You can turn it of tho if you want (even music etc). You can also decide to let the app play the whole thing automatically al'a a movie, or choose between two more viewing modes. Oh and it's quite a long novel so you'll definitely get your money's worth. ### 5/5 — Graphic art storytelling at its best! *2013-02-07, version 1.1* Great entertainment! Three hours well spent! I look forward to re-watching Anomaly with the optional app that enables you to see individual characters "pop off" the page. This work really makes use of the iPad's capabilities. Peerless. *2013-02-02, version 1.1* Nothing else in the app store is quite like this app. Think of it as an interactive, epic visual novel. It has excellent production values, including a well-chosen score and voice acting. If I had to explain the experience, I'd compare it to an epic movie trilogy. Epic movie trilogies are hard to come by (and cost half a billion to make), so experiences like this are few and far between. As a specimen of the graphic novel medium, it is unparalleled. Another way to think if the work is to consider it an animated and voice-acted graphic novel. Many people think of graphic novels as nothing more than the comics they read as children (superhero comics or Saturday morning cartoons). Even if you are of such a persuasion, I strongly urge you to give this work a try: as much as any other graphic novel Anomaly proves that such works can be deep, thoughtful, mature, and *very* entertaining. It's a really long graphic novel, really entertaining, good sci-fi with catchy characters , everyone with well defined personalities. A lot of recalls to other famous sci-fi novels or movies can be found in the novel, which still holds it's novelty . Dark points : it has a few visualisation bugs in some of the interactive description tabs (I.e. cut text or - in case of the "the one symbol" - wrong description ) . The novel looks beautiful but it is not functioning as advertised. If you want to change the industry, then the main selling point should work. Buying the rest of the comic is an in app purchase. I bought but got no confirmation and later when I turn on my iPad the rest of the comic was not working, I will try and contact them to see if I can get it back no charge. If not I think this is last time I do business with these creators and company. ### 2/5 — No way to restore purchuse *2017-09-20, version 1.1* After getting half way through the very captivating story, i had to remove the comic duento storage issues. Just alil while ago I reinstalled it, but it appears I have to pay a 2nd time in order to continue the story. Was hoping for some control in the storyline. It is interactive in that you control the pace of the comic by clicking for the next page. Love the voice overs but there is a lot of text that is not read to you so you still have to do your own reading. Beautiful graphics and movement in text but if you looking for a create your own adventure game this is not it. ### 3/5 — Still needs work *2012-11-26, version 1.1* Good idea, fun story, but there are still lots of rough spots. Some of the backstory pages aren't finished and there are times where it sounds like a mistranslation from another language. You know somebody did something right when you're up at 1am and can't hit the "next page" button fast enough. What it comes down to? Quality. Stunning art, and excellent story, not to mention this new interactive way to experience it. The musical score is excellent, with huge sweeping themes and a great knack for building tension at all the right moments, and the voice actors for the characters are top-shelf.
