It actually performs better than most I’ve had in the past. I love making bread comes out perfect every time. Being able to reheat prime rib to its idea temperature and no higher keeps the meat as close to it was to start with is amazing. Anybody on GLP-1 drugs who is eating a lot less needs one of these. I have it only four stars because it is so big and a counter space hog. I rarely use the oven in my range because of the oven’s speed and—well—precision. ### 5/5 — Great experience so far! :) *2025-11-27, version 1.2.8* This is the first time, I have an oven worth reviewing I bought this oven to bake bread, sourdough bread to be more specific, and it excels at that. Today I tried the dehydration function, and it is also great at dehydrating. Not too big, not too small and extremely easy to use. The Anova team has once again provided an update that alters your saved recipes. This time they’ve really outdone themselves as they managed to alter the cook history as well. Attempting to save an old cook fails. Attempting to add a photo to a recipe you’re creating fails. If I could give this update zero stars I would. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst App Ever? *2026-08-02, version 1.2.10* This might, and I emphasize might, not be the worst app I have ever had. Without a doubt though it is the worst app for thousands of dollars of cost for me. I have two APOs in two places, so obviously on two wifi SSIDs. I am the only person cooking in each place. Both of the ovens are in my name. Anova will not permit me to have both ovens associated with the app. Every time I go to the other place (which is several times a month) I am forced to disconnect from one oven and connect to the other oven. Come on Anova! Why will you not permit two connections? Do you not want customers to support you by buying multiple products? Or do you just want to not support the customers who support you? What is worse, connecting the app to the oven each time is hit and miss. Sometimes it connects smoothly. Sometimes, like what prompted this review, it simply refuses to connect the APO. I spent so much time trying to connect yesterday that my wife finally told me to go pick up a pizza because she wanted to eat before bedtime. Anova support has been worse than useless. I say worse than useless because I tell them what I have done (update the app, make sure other oven is disconnected, turn off VPN, reset Bluetooth on my phone, unplug oven, etc.) only for them to tell me to do exactly what I just to,d them I had done. I am happy with the Anova hardware, but Anova ought to get some high school student to rewrite their app as a school assignment. ### 1/5 — Latest update *2026-06-08, version 1.2.10* I now have a black screen after the latest update. ### 1/5 — Oven sucks. App sucks *2026-06-08, version 1.2.10* My oven broke twice now. First time it just wouldn’t turn on anymore and got a warranty. Water reservoir cracks too cuz of the heat. Second oven the front panel stopped working so I can only control on the app. App is annoying too- when you stop the oven to change the settings, it resets to the default settings every time. And right now my app won’t even turn on so my oven is unusable. Customer care won’t do anything for me even though I’m willing to pay for parts ### 1/5 — disconnet *2026-05-08, version 1.2.9* always disconnect ### 1/5 — Manual settings are broken *2026-03-22, version 1.2.8* From the last couple months, entering the manual controls section of the app and attempting to turn off sous vide mode will immediately crash the app. It makes it completely unusable. ### 1/5 — Lost recipes once again! *2026-03-07, version 1.2.8* Bravo to the Anova team! They’ve managed to lose recipes once again with the most recent update. I bake the same 6 stage sourdough recipe every week. This morning I awake to find they’ve simplified the recipe into just 2 stages. Sadly those two stages won’t result in a successful bake. ### 1/5 — Loses Custom Recipes. Burns Food. Subscription for an oven. *2026-03-05, version 1.2.8* The app has overridden my custom recipes several times over the past few years. Replacing all of my carefully created multi-stage cooks with untimed stages at 225 degrees C. It’s a very, very poor bit of engineering. At best you notice and catch it when the oven takes longer or quicker to preheat. At worst you burn your food to a crisp or start a fire. I also don’t know why it insists on starting every stage with sous vide mode on. It’s not that common a cooking method and it’s more annoying to have to undo it each time it deletes your own recipes. They even changed to a subscription to use the app for a four figure kitchen appliance. Can you use it without it? Yes but it clearly was not designed for manual use in mind with its very, very bad physical interface and you cannot do multi stage cooking which is one of the biggest selling points for this product. ### 1/5 — Black screen of death *2026-02-21, version 1.2.8* It’s always something with this app. Now, it won’t open no matter what you do since it’s just a black screen ### 1/5 — Only one user can read recipes? *2026-02-19, version 1.2.8* I have the Precision Cooker which already costs a ton of money. Why can’t users added to my household cooker also look up recipes in the app? Stupid money grab if it requires a subscription for the same household. ### 1/5 — Oven 2.0 constantly disconnects and can’t reconnect via the app *2026-02-13, version 1.2.8* The 2.0 oven’s hardware is nice, and it does a good job cooking. However, it is so difficult to connect it to WiFi (and maintain that connection) that it is easier to cook in manual mode and ignore any subscription-locked features. Most of the times I go to use the oven, I discover that it has disconnected from WiFi again over night. The oven cannot reconnect to WiFi via the touch pad control panel. Instead you can only connect the oven to WiFi via the app. Even though every other device in the house has perfect WiFi signal and speed, the oven frequently hangs trying to connect. The only solution (solution found via forum posts) is to factory reset the oven, sign out of the app, delete the app, redownload the app, sign back in, and try again.
