Happy September! Here is our first update of the month.

What’s new:
1. Improved the WeRead import experience. You can now import individual books from WeRead. Simply enter your WeRead API key under Database Sources, then go to Data Management → Import from WeRead. We have also improved how WeRead highlights and reflections are matched: reflections will no longer be imported as separate highlights, but will be correctly attached to the corresponding highlight as a Personal Reflection.
2. Improved iCloud sync status reporting and data protection, with the addition of safety snapshots. Any iCloud sync issues will now appear under Settings → Data Management. If a sync error occurs, please create a manual backup before deleting the app.
3. Fixed an issue that caused the search controls to disappear on iPad and devices running iOS 18.
4. Fixed an issue that caused the Archive tab to always open to Books. It will now open to whichever section appears first in your custom Archive order.
5. Improved AI API validation and error messages.
6. Various other refinements and improvements.

1. A higher item limit for the free version, along with access to more features—giving everyone more freedom to explore and experience Anthology.

This update brings a large set of improvements to search, imports, and day-to-day recording:
1. Added ISBN barcode scanning for physical books, so you can scan the barcode on the back cover and search for the book directly.
2. Manual entry and item editing now support choosing a cover from Photos and cropping it into the right cover area.
3. Improved the search-and-add flow, including direct archive search, steadier source ordering, and better Douban music result visibility alongside iTunes.
4. Douban imports now use a lighter lazy metadata flow, filling ratings, episode counts, and movie or TV classification when you open item details instead of slowing down bulk import.
5. Screen entries now support total episodes and watched episode tracking, with cleaner detail-page metadata and duration handling.
6. Improved date picking and date clearing, especially when changing year or month before selecting a day.
7. Douban and WeRead import screens no longer close from accidental swipe-down gestures; finish the import or tap Done to exit.
8. Optimize the selection mode of the archive page. You can now enter the selection mode by long pressing. Selecting multiple entries and update the status and type of the them with one click.
9. Refined older-system tab bar materials, and many iOS 18 and iOS 26 interaction details.
