### 2/5 — Disappointing upgrade

*2021-06-10*

On the whole I truly like AntlerInsanity. I have saved hunting and fishing spots in 5 states. With the recent update I apparently have lost all that information for those spots. I am very disappointed about this. The new update I am sure will be fine, but I can’t recreate all that I lost. I have sent an email to AntlerInsanity requesting their help to recover the lost information. Prior to the update I would have given a 5 star rating. Time will tell what I think about the updated version.

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. If the app was deleted and reinstalled, then the data will not be available as with any app that gets deleted. If you are still experiencing issues with stands, please let us know wo that we can dig into this deeper. All of the features that were previously available on the app will always be available for free, the only thing that will be a charge are all of the features we will be adding before next season, and there will be a TON of them. We will be adding the features that were on the old app that didn’t transfer to the new version soon. As soon as they are all available, we will send a push notification through the app and let everyone know. We are still working on getting the wind fixed, as the direction indicator has been an issue even in the previous app. We are also readjusting so that you can pull up the wind at the stand locations. We are also developing a walkthrough to show where all of the features are, to help with some of the features people are having trouble finding. Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy the new updates coming.

### 2/5 — Wind

*2020-12-21*

Thank you for restoring our saved locations!
With the last version you could check wind of your saved stands from camp or home, New version it only gives wind where you are at the time you check it, The whole point of checking the wind is so you will know what your wind is doing at your saved location. Can we get it back to where it was pick a location that you have saved check wind and it shows you with an arrow what the wind is doing at that location instead of where you are at that time.

### 3/5 — Very disappointing

*2020-12-03, version 4.0.0*

Thanks for the response but I am still unable to pull up my old stands. Any help would be appreciated

As many others have stated, the latest update wiped out years of hunting data. Loved the old app but this new version stinks. If old data can’t be restored Antler Insanity will not be on my phone. Why input this data all over again and risk it being wiped out again.

PS. Had to rate this as a 4 to get my review to upload 😡

### 1/5 — Antler insanity developers: “if it ain’t broke, let’s break it”

*2020-11-29, version 4.0.0*

The only thing right about the app is the name. Antler insanity....the insanity being let’s completely trash one of the better apps on the market for a completely new app. Thanks to the new “revamped” antler insanity I lost all my stand locations. Don’t believe the canned response that they’re hunters and that they’ll be able to restore your data. No Hunter in his right mind would wipe his gps mid season. Since I have to start over I’ve switched to BaseMap and deleted this app.

### 2/5 — Now I see my waypoints restored

*2020-11-25, version 4.0.0*

Today my waypoints showed up, unfortunately the ‘ drive or walk to’ feature doesn’t work. I have no way to navigate to anything. The wind direction feature doesn’t yet work for my waypoints.
I don’t think I can add notes or comments as they relate to my specific waypoints.
Do you plan on restoring those very important features to this new version?
Now I will give another star for restoring my waypoints.
Keep the momentum going and get this ‘new’ version to function like the old one.....you know there’s no shame in admitting you made a mistake. If you are able and willing to revert back to the previous version for all users, I think all would be forgiven..I know I would.
Please consider doing so if at all possible. Thank you

### 1/5 — Unhappy, moving on.

*2020-11-24, version 4.0.0*

After I used this app for the past 5+ years, the recent update took away all the work I had put into using it. Now four weeks later it is still not resolved? Wasted my entire hunting season. Why would you make such an update right before hunting season? Terrible planning on your part! What a shame.
But luckily for us, there are many more options on the market today. Already previewing them and preparing to move on with one of them for next year.

### 1/5 — Please tell me it will come back

*2020-11-23*

The app was by far my go to for hunting. It was far superior to just about anything on the market due to its ease of use. After “they” changed it, it’s now junk. Totally worthless, non user friendly and does not look anything like what the App Store shows. That is what it used to look like before everything was wiped out. No more stand locations, nothing! They claim to be working on a fix but it certainly hasn’t reached my device. Everything is gone and it’s now a useless waste of space. Very disappointed, and the timing couldn’t have been better unless someone was trying to sabotage the app. The middle of hunting season just about everywhere! Good planning! Not happy.

### 1/5 — Lost Everything

*2020-11-23*

With the latest update I lost all my saved stand locations and I no longer see where I can check the wind direction or see the sunrise and sunset times.

-Update
I can see the wind when checking the weather but it only works for my current location. I used to be able to check the wind for a saved stand location before I got in the field. I checked the wind from my stand while hunting yesterday and the direction shown may have been correct but the arrow was backwards. The wind was directly in my face but the arrow in the app was pointing away from me.

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. If the app was deleted and reinstalled, then the data will not be available as with any app that gets deleted. ### 2/5 — Still no update on lost data

*2020-11-21, version 4.0.0*

Didn’t notice all my stands were gone til this weekend. Did see the other review saying they lost data and are attempting to restore it to all users just hasn’t happened yet. I’ve had this app for several years and hope they can get it fixed soon. Really a pain having to go out to hunt and not knowing how the wind is blowing at the stand. 2 stars for now until they can hopefully restore the data and get all of my stands back.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2020-11-20, version 4.0.0*

Going out for the first this season so went to the app to check sunrise time. Can’t find it. Used to be on home page. Trying to figure out new format and all my stored locations are gone. I used this daily thru hunting sEason for the wind, sunrise and sunset. I duck hunt a lot also and sunrise time is crucial for legal shooting. I read your response to another response about restoring data so I am waiting a couple weeks before deleting. I will be looking for something better today. Can’t have an useless app taking up space on my phone.

### 1/5 — Update Update

*2020-11-19, version 4.0.0*

The absolute WORST UPDATE I’ve ever experienced! I had several locations saved and lost them ALL!! It’s harder to use and I’m looking for better choice now. What brainiac decided this was better??

I received an apology statement from App Developement stating all old data would be restored. I thought this was fantastic and they actually listened to the overwhelming negative responses pouring in. To date still haven’t seen my old data and they’ve RUINED MY ENTIRE SEASON. THANKS TO NO ONE!!!

### 1/5 — Utter disappointment

*2020-11-16*

This was a 5 star app before the latest update. My go to hunting app with hundreds of locations saved. I recommended it to everyone I knew, heck my 73 year old father used it to get in and out of his public land spots which made me confident he would be okay. Now all our locations have been wiped, you can’t see the wind direction at your saved locations and the navigation portion seems to have disappeared unless I just can’t find it.
Please roll back the update and give us back the 5 star app of the past! Then if you need free advice on what should be kept and what should be modified look no further than all the negative reviews as I’m sure you will be able to compile a list of errors of this latest update.

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. ### 1/5 — Very unhappy

*2020-11-15, version 4.0.0*

The app was great before the update. I lost all of my stand locations and the new ones that I have currently put back in I can’t even see what the wind is there. I personally think that being able to look at the wind from that stand on the app was the best part of it. And I lost every location I had. I am extremely disappointed by the update. It was much better before the change.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Should be zero stars!

*2022-10-08, version 4.1.6*

Had this app for at least 5 years. Close to 150 waypoints. The latest version of the app is pure garbage! Used to be my go to. Had to move on to a different app. I will not list what I switch to, that way the s.o.b. that ruined this app will not get the satisfaction of how they need to change. Go back to the original version and I’ll be back in a heartbeat! Sad that people still try to reinvent the wheel.

### 1/5 — Why????

*2021-10-29, version 4.1.6*

I was super happy with last years version of Antler Insanity. But why leave a good app alone, right? I hate the latest version and will be looking for another app that simply does it better. I was always able to easily navigate to my stand in the dark using the “walk to” feature but no more. You made a once easy to use app complicated and not user friendly. Don’t waste you money on this app.

### 1/5 — Poor expierence

*2021-09-13, version 4.1.6*

This app has been at the centerpoint of a hunting group I’m a part of for the last several years. Unexpectedly last year there was a lot of changes with no communication. My hunting team stuck it out with the app however with the recent change it to a subscription model and no free features it’s sad but the hunting team will not be using this app anymore. Even though it’s cheaper there’s just no trust in the developers leadership

### 1/5 — You changed everything that was good on this app.

*2021-06-27, version 4.1.4*

When this App. First came out it was great, you could mark your stand accurately, the wind direction portrayed on each stand was perfect, and then you charged for the app. Like $2.99, so I paid, and then the app. just declined, and now charging a subscription on an existing customer is sad. I only paid for the subscription now just to mark my stands on another app. I like some of the additions of the moons phases, aging, and calls However, the important important pieces changed.

### 1/5 — Choose another!

*2021-05-12, version 4.1.4*

Before the November debacle this was a decent app. After losing my stands (during hunting season....good timing) and the change to the even worse than before interface, I stuck with it simply because it was functional. Eventually got the stands back.
Then I fire up the app a few weeks ago to show a buddy a spot, and lo and behold now I have to pay (after the free month🙄) to use a mediocre app.
NOPE. Peace out. I’m sure there’s better for free. And if not for free I’ll certainly pay for something better than this.

### 1/5 — Old data was deleted!

*2021-04-10*

I was promised all the old stand info would be reinstalled. It has not. I can’t check the weather at any of my stands. The only weather I can check is at my current location. Also, when I try to pull up my stands, the app locks up and I have to stop and relaunch the app. This is terrible because the app was working just fine before they screwed it up. And they screwed it up right before hunting season! If I could give this a rating of less than one star then I would because it is not even worthy of one star. Don’t waste your money.

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. ### 1/5 — What happened????

*2021-01-12*

Please restore critical features...I have more than 150 stand sites in 4 states gone!!! I have them in an exported file that I cannot even upload.

I tried to use the new app and quickly added 20 stand sites on a local 155 acre property but key features; stand list, choose stand, plot all stands, mark location, name, categorize, walk to, get wind, and send location all gone....WHAT?????

Please let us know another update is coming quickly...who the heck does something like this at this time of the year? Why would any developer think that recorded sounds, aging and scoring guidelines would be more valuable to hunters than what frankly was the absolute best GPS stand location service available.

Please tell us you will be bringing those features back, as well as, a system to upload our previous stand locations.

Can someone help? I am hearing others have had all of their files restored, I have not? Am I missing something? I have a folder that’s indicates “previous data” but the file is empty?

I don’t k one of the app was deleted and restored, is there a way to check? Storage should be an issue

We are also correcting all of the old features that did not get pushed to the old version and they will be available soon. We are still working on getting the wind fixed, as the direction indicator has been an issue even in the previous app. We are also readjusting so that you can pull up the wind at the stand locations. ### 1/5 — Ruined This App

*2020-12-20*

Updated Review - Well here we are over a month after that hollow reply about what the developers are doing to restore our waypoints. What a crock. This app remains useless. I guess I’m the one user that his waypoints have not been restored - yea right.

This app was working fine until this supposed “upgrade”. I lost over 100 waypoints. I have them backed up but there is not a functioning method to restore them. Many of the intuitive menus and functions are now lost. 4* to no stars in a single release. I think I’m more amazed in the complete failure of this upgrade more than the utter disappointment in now having to move on to another hunting app

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. If the app was deleted and reinstalled, then the data will not be available as with any app that gets deleted. ### 1/5 — Terrible since update

*2020-12-13*

Bring back the “walk to” feature. It was the best thing about the app, now it’s gone. Also since I got all of my marked locations back, they’re no longer grouped according to the area they marked in. Now I have to scroll through hundreds of locations to find what I’m looking for. They’re not even alphabetized, just random. This app has really gone downhill since the update. It was great...now it’s terrible. Might just go download HuntStand or something. Getting tired of waiting for these problems to get fixed. I’ve never seen an app become useless after an update. Fix it please.

### 1/5 — There is no walk to feature with your new app

*2020-12-06, version 4.0.0*

I got all my prior locations back but your new app doesn’t have the option to walk to the location like the old app did. The blue indicator ball use to have an arrow showing you the direction you need to walk when you hit the walk too feature. The current app does not have that or that option! Is this going to be corrected because if not the current app is useless!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Changes

*2023-04-11*

I have had this app for 8 years. I wasn’t happy when it changed owners and lost my stand locations but once I talked to them I understand this app is not stored on the cloud. That’s why the price is cheaper that the others which is important to me personally. I do love the new features they added. Especially the scoring app!! I also use the range finder to set up targets at long distances and love that!

I just got a new phone and everything moved over from old phone perfectly.

**Developer response:** Thank you!! We will be adding many more features in the future!

### 5/5 — A must for every hunter !

*2021-06-23, version 4.1.4*

The new updated version works flawlessly! I’d given anything for this app when I was hunting in the Midwest due to constantly changing conditions. Amazing hunting tool ! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — New app

*2020-11-25, version 4.0.0*

Is there a way to get to the walk to section 3 much. Well ever since I see you changed the app but the old one used to have a walk to icon that you could press and it would take you straight to your stand. Is that still available?

### 5/5 — Lost everything

*2020-11-25*

Lost everything I had saved when this app updated itself would rate this new app less then on star if it was offered, unreal that they would do that DO NOT USE THIS APP there has to be better ones out there.

Update. I have all my stuff back that I lost after the last update, thanks you guys so much, I changed my rating to 5 stars if it stays this way I would recommend this app again, thanks again

**Developer response:** Thank you!! We truly appreciate your patience while we got this fixed! we will be adding TONS of new features before next season, so be sure to check them out!

### 5/5 — Change it back

*2020-11-20, version 4.0.0*

Why change it when it was fine I can’t get wind directions on stands now and lost all locations. Not an improvement! Having to use other apps now! And to do during hunting season was bad.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2018-11-29, version 3.94*

I have hunted a friends farm a couple times and the plotted boundary lines are extremely helpful to make sure I’m staying on the correct property while still hunting. Took about an hour of playing around with the app to really figure out how it worked, but it was well worth it

### 5/5 — Dedicated Hunter

*2016-11-13, version 3.73*

I love this app. I fully depend on it and it works great. My club manages over 60 properties and I am not able to review every location before the season starts. With this app I am able to find a stand in the dark which help me get the jump on the hunt.
Thank you Antler Insanity!

### 4/5 — From a great App to a junk APP

*2020-12-04*

Noticed on some of your responses to people you said the old updates were not done right well you just destroyed this app for all the old users.
Update stand locations have been restored. Now just make this app easier to navigate like the old one things be great. Also be nice to be able to jus text an updated stand location to another hunter. Instead of emailing the hole list. Thanks

**Developer response:** Our developers are telling us that all stand locations have been restored to the new app, except for one user who didn't have enough space on their device. If the app was deleted and reinstalled, then the data will not be available as with any app that gets deleted. ### 4/5 — Great for hunters

*2017-09-19*

This is a great App.... though I hate the new LOGO.
I had the initial release and have used it for multiple years. I delete it in the off season just cause I can't stand seeing the new LOGO. It tends to fly in the face of what I teach my grandchildren. That aside, it's very functional. My only current hang up is in the range finder. It no longer lets you zoom in close enough to range shooting zones. It does however allow you to determine distance to travel to a new area.
I use to use it along with a ballistics app to determine my hold. I especially like the weather/wind and stand list. It has helped me find my stand in the dark more than once.

### 3/5 — Adding Notes

*2022-01-01, version 4.1.6*

I really like the app. Some changes are hard to get use to but no problems learning. My only problem at this time is i can not figure out how to add notes to my locations. I really like being able to add notes is this feature available on the new version?
