## What is Anwar?

A complete Mushaf with colored Tajweed, and accurate prayer times with a real athan — offline, with no ads.

And three things you won't find together anywhere else: recite aloud and it shows you the words you forgot, search by how you feel and the right verses come to you, and finish one khatma with your family while everyone's progress updates live.

— THE MUSHAF —
• The complete Quran in clear Uthmani script, 604 pages as in the printed Mushaf.
• Colored Tajweed: madd, ghunnah, qalqalah, ikhfa, idgham and iqlab, each in its own color.
• Tafsir and translation with a tap on any verse.
• Recitations by renowned reciters, downloadable for offline listening.
• Memorization mode: repeat a verse, hide the text, then recite aloud — and see what you missed.

— WITH YOU EVERY DAY —
• Prayer times calculated for your location, with a real athan that works while your phone is locked.
• A countdown to the next prayer on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
• An accurate qibla, with camera view if you like.
• Hisn Al-Muslim with sources: morning, evening, sleep, travel and more, with a counter for each dhikr.
• Kids' adhkar your child learns through play.
• A digital tasbih, and the 99 Names of Allah.

— WHAT MAKES IT LAST —
• Group khatma: split the juz between you, and everyone's progress shows live.
• Your daily wird streak, and a full year's map of your consistency.
• Search by feeling, not by word: type "anxious" or "grief" and its verses and duas come to you.
• Design a verse as a card and share it.
• Seven premium themes and Mushaf fonts.

— OUR PROMISE —
The app works offline, with no ads at all, and never asks you to create an account or sign in.
The core is always free; the optional subscription unlocks extra features.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.4 — 2026-10-16

Al-Anwar, completely redesigned

• A new design across every screen, with dark mode by default
• The Mushaf in its printed page layout, with colour-coded tajweed and a colour key in Reading Settings
• Tafsir opens at the ayah being recited
• Prayer card: the next prayer on the day arc, and each prayer’s adhan toggled straight from its bell
• Optional sunrise alert
• The Names of Allah, each explained from al-Khattabi’s «Sha’n al-Du‘a», with the source shown
• Memorisation mode right on the Mushaf page
• «Continue reading» follows your progress as you read
• Many improvements and fixes

### 2.0.2 — 2026-10-02

Anwar Lens now works
Photograph any page of your printed Mus'haf, tap the verse you want, and the app identifies it and shows its tafsir.

Recitation Mode — rebuilt
• Recite from memory with the text hidden; each word you get right is revealed
• The cursor waits at a word until you say it correctly — no skipping, no jumping
• Forgot a word? It appears in gold after four seconds, then hides again
• A full Mus'haf page view, with auto-scroll that follows your voice
• A report after every session: your fluency score and what to review

Athan no longer cuts off your recitation
It fades the recitation down, plays the athan, then resumes from the same point.

Live Activity, only when it matters
The lock-screen card appears ten minutes before the athan and closes after — not all day.

Consistency tree
See what you've watered it with today. Miss too many days and it wilts; revive it with 100 tasbeeh.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-09-28

Important improvements and fixes:

• Al-Anwar Lens: photograph a full page of your Mus'haf, then tap the exact verse you want — the app identifies it and shows its tafsir. Previously you had to photograph a single verse on its own.

• Fixed: the Lens did not work on some devices even when supported.

• Fixed: pages overlapping when switching between the bottom tabs, and buttons occasionally not responding.

• Fixed: the last line of the page being clipped when enlarging the Mus'haf font.

• Faster, lighter page turning in the Mus'haf.

Thank you for every report you sent — this update came from you.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-27

Al-Anwar 2.0 — our biggest update yet.

• Al-Anwar Lens: point your camera at any verse in your printed Mus'haf and the app identifies it and shows its tafsir instantly. (Requires iOS 16 or later)

• Smart Khatma & Dedication Certificate: track your reading precisely, and dedicate its reward to someone you love with a shareable card.

• Verse in Action: every verse now comes with one clear thing you can do today — not just commentary.

• My Journey: a shareable card of your spiritual progress.

• Widget Studio: design your home screen widgets with 5 themes and 3 styles, with a live preview.

• StandBy Mode & Icon Shortcuts: prayer times and adhkar while your phone charges, plus faster access by long-pressing the app icon.

• Listen From Here: start the recitation from any verse you choose.

• Evidence Button: tap to see the source behind every text in the app.

• Full source review: we reviewed every hadith and dua in the app and kept only what is authentic and well attributed.

• More accurate Athan: multi-day scheduling, so alerts never drift or arrive late.

• A faster, lighter interface and consistent numerals throughout.

### 1.9.9 — 2026-09-24

• Sharing the app now includes the download link — it used to send the message without one.

• Removed a third-party analytics tool we never used: the app no longer collects your approximate location or diagnostic data.

• The App Store page now lists all three languages: Arabic, English and Turkish.

• Performance and stability improvements.
