The developer response is telling: defensive and clueless. If they cared about minimalism, they wouldn’t have ugly gradients from 2006, poor item spacing across the entire app, poorly chosen and inconsistent icons, and ugly backgrounds with no option of customizing them. If they knew anything about real design, they wouldn’t say “design is subjective”. It looks like it was designed by a second semester design intern. I don’t have the energy to do a full design crit of the app in an app store review. But this silly developer response was enough for me to stop using the app. They clearly are just coasting at this point and have no desire to make the app better anymore. ### 4/5 — Can’t even sign in to use *2026-06-17, version 5.66.0* I can’t give you a bad review as I have not used the app. BUT I am trying to sign up as a new account subscriber and I downloaded the app and it’s not letting me get in. Wish you could change the background on the app too! Otherwise, this is a great app for students and office workers who just need an app that they can jot down notes and to-do’s! I personally enjoy using the desktop website more than the iOS app (at least on iPad), as it is more streamlined and easier to see, plus it’s more aesthetically pleasing on the website due to the aforementioned background problem. Finally, I wish there was an optional “widget” within the app that functioned like a sticky note on the wall. I.e jot down a reminder that you want to keep on the screen at all times; I do want to reiterate that this feature should be removable and optional to have, as not everyone would want it. No response from the team whatsoever. Also, sometimes I’ll set a reminder for a future time/date and a few minutes later, it’ll revert to the current/day/time. The bug that really pushed me to write this review though was that, likely due to some update, ALL of my subtasks for ALL of my reminders that has subtasks are GONE. Absolutely tons of routines and data are completely gone now. Horrible and disappointing. ### 1/5 — Keeps notifying me—of nothing! *2026-07-27, version 5.66.3* This app is a joke. It pops up a notice, I open the app, and—voila! Nothing to see here, folks. All I want is a reminder of a task that’s due because i-Calendar stopped doing anything but giving a tiny beep at 9am. In the last two years I’ve missed several important dates. If I’m not in the room, too bad. With Any.do, I might as well just make myself check my calendar every day in spite of there being possibly 20 events at most I need to attend to on time annually. Every other calendar app had this feature 10 years ago. Maybe these kids will learn what they’re doing someday. ### 1/5 — Newest update is awful *2026-06-24, version 5.66.0* The latest update destroyed the app. Any time I try to add items to various shopping lists it shows up as a blank checkbox under “other”. I’ve deleted the shopping list, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, and it still won’t show the items I’ve added to my list. Not much I can do with an invisible shopping list… ### 1/5 — Very poor *2026-05-13, version 5.65.0* This planner tricked me into buying a one year subscription. Now it hangs up at every turn. BEWARE ### 1/5 — Any.do Website Claims “PERSONAL” = FREE *2026-03-31, version 5.64.6* I thought this might be a good replacement for M/S ToDo particularly since the webpage www.any.do/pricing states clearly: PERSONAL use if FREE.
