Because it breaks it down and the videos are short too. That way you don't get bored from it. Magoosh explains everything in an easy to understand voice while writing on the white board as he talks. The lessons are divided in three sections: PreCalculus, Derivatives, and Integrals. Each section is divided into several lesson groups. Each lesson can be watched as many times as necessary. In the PreCalculus lessons he suggests that if a student isn't following along, one should review before studying Calculus. But currently the app in it's present form doesn't have supporting review lessons. The lesson writings on the iPhone white board are small and hard to read. The video and audio can be sent wirelessly to an Apple TV, which is very nice, if one has a wireless modem and Apple TV all setup. Overall, it is very good! These videos have been great to refresh my knowledge of calculus. Best App I've seen for Calculus *2013-07-01* My high schooler was worried about Calculus next year so I looked for a set of lessons online and found this app. I think the material and delivery is presented extremely well and in logical bite-size portions. I think overall this is a wonderful series. My (positive) criticism is that the speaker might better emphasize the importance of some key concepts. After all the buildup lessons, show a little excitement when you get to reveal the first derivative! As a physicist, I am also sensitive to casual talk of "physics applications." Calculus, as an idea, is a pillar of natural law and fundamental to how we understand the world!
