### 1/5 — Only 6 scheduled events per power strip with 3 smart outlets! Insane!

*2021-02-09, version 1.0.2*

I was very excited by this strip as I automate plant maintenance but it only allows for a total of 6 TOTAL events per day- not per outlet but for THE ENTIRE STRIP! Terrible! Now I have to plug in Kasa outlets into my Bellini smart strip to make it smart enough.

### 1/5 — Can’t Even Validate My Email Address....

*2021-01-10, version 1.0.2*

Ominous...

Foreboding...

Deplorable...

But DEPLORABLE is actually a GOOD WORD, politically speaking, anyway...

### 1/5 — Junk

*2020-08-28, version 1.0.2*

Bought 5 of these to control lamps and set timers. Couldn’t get timers to work first time around deleted them all an added again and the timers work occasionally. App is real buggy and logged me out. It won’t let me log back in or reset my password.

### 2/5 — No Google Home integration

*2020-07-28, version 1.0.2*

Supports Alexa (poorly). Does not support Google Home at all.

### 1/5 — The schedule function doesn’t work for me

*2020-07-17, version 1.0.2*

I was unable to figure out how to make schedule function to work.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money...app is not reliable

*2020-06-24, version 1.0.2*

App does not work reliably which basically makes the unit a high priced power strip. Looking at the overall ratings (0 is not an option) I would think the company would want to improve the functionality through the app which is really the only reason one would purchase a schedule based smart power strip. The unit itself seems fine...but don’t waste tour money expecting the product to perform as advertised...Caveat Emptor!

### 2/5 — No Updates, Bad UI. Some tips

*2020-06-09, version 1.0.2*

At first, connecting to the WiFi was impossible. And the light turned green despite having no connection. I had difficulty figuring out how to reset the surge protector to go back to the solid red light.

Figured it out after a time. Maybe this will help others.

Turn off the surge protector. Press the ‘1’ while turning the surge protector back on for at least a few seconds until the light turns back to red.

Then try again.

I finally got it to work after numerous times.

Make sure you type the password to your WiFi correctly.

Sometimes it helps to swipe the app away, and reopen the app.

Anyways, it looks like the developers are no longer updating this hardware. So I can’t recommend but if you do have it, give these tips a try.

### 1/5 — Barely works

*2020-05-17, version 1.0.2*

Desperately needs a refresh option. You can never tell if something is truly on or off without looking at the power strip because the app isn’t accurate; it shows that an outlet is on when it’s off and vice versa. But this app hasn’t been updated in over a year, so either they gave up or it’s hardware related… and they’re still selling it. I’ve been buying APC surge protectors for quite awhile now, but the lack of support for this is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

### 2/5 — Worked well for a while, not so much now

*2020-05-15, version 1.0.2*

The app shuts down every time I try to open it! I just moved, and now I can’t reconnect my device to the new WiFi because the app has stopped working.

### 1/5 — Look elsewhere!

*2020-03-09, version 1.0.2*

Setup was okay. Worked for a few weeks, then intermittently for a few months. Now...not at all.
Negative reviews are spot on. As smart phones get smarter, this turkey gets dumber, with no help from APC.
Not worth the frustration.

### 1/5 — Very unreliable app

*2020-02-21, version 1.0.2*

While the scheduled program seems to still function, using the app to manually turn on/off the outlets or USB ports is inconsistent. The app would allow me to manually turn on/off one outlet but immediately fails when I try to turn on/off another outlet. Restarting the app will incorrectly show which outlets are on and which are off. This can only be corrected by turning on/off all the outlets using the app and physically going to the surge protector and turning on/off the outlets.
The app used to work flawlessly back in the earlier versions of iOS 13.
Please fix the app!!!

### 1/5 — WiFi connected, device not set up.

*2020-01-01, version 1.0.2*

The WiFi is connected, the WiFi light turned green. However, can’t find the devise in the app. I try to reconnect and rediscover the device. However the app always let me wait for the WiFi light turns red, but it won’t. Piece of junk. Worst ever smart app.
Figured something out:
1. To reset the outlet WiFi : hold on the smart outlet button 1 and 2 together for 6 seconds. Maybe hold any one is good enough. Don’t want to try again.
2. The device name can only be a single word with no space.

### 1/5 — App will not work!

*2019-12-26, version 1.0.2*

Can’t even log on it gives me an error

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App Is Junk

*2022-12-29, version 1.0.2*

Terrible. No longer works-Sad because it’s a great power strip. APC should enter the year 2023.

### 1/5 — Stopped working with Amazon devices & Alexa app

*2022-06-19, version 1.0.2*

Is this app being supported anymore by APC!?!

When I first got two power strips a couple years ago, they integrated fine with Amazon Firecube, Eco & Alexa app. A couple months ago, these devices couldn’t find them any more because “they have stopped communicating with the server”.

I can still control them through the APC app but I would like to control them through the Alexa app just like was doing along with my other smart plugs & light bulbs.

Short of uninstalling all the APC plugs, deleting the app & reinstalling everything, there doesn’t seem to be any easier potential fix.

BTW, the Alexa app doesn’t seem to list the APC Home app &/or plugs anymore. If I uninstall them, will I even be able to reload them!?!

### 1/5 — App not working

*2022-05-21, version 1.0.2*

It has been a year since I’ve been able to sign in

### 1/5 — worked first time and never again

*2022-05-11, version 1.0.2*

It worked the first time I said this app and never again the Wi-Fi signal simply won't come on and the set up process although the phone will detect it it just spins and says device set up cannot be found absolute waste of money

### 1/5 — Horrible app & connectivity

*2022-03-30, version 1.0.2*

I bought 1 of these and everything seemed to be working well, so I ordered 2 more for other rooms in our place. I should have waited a while before doing that. I’m not sure how long it takes, but at some point after relatively painless set ups & connecting to the WiFi, all 3 of these power strips will lose their connection. 1 of them still appears connected in the app, but can’t be controlled in any way other than physically touching it and when I physically turn on/off different slots, the new status does not update in the app. The other 2, at least the app recognizes that they aren’t connected and prompts me to reconnect. However, the reconnect button does nothing. The only thing that works to get them back online is to delete them from the app and redo the initial set up routine, but it’s pointless because they’ll just go offline again at some point. They do look nice though and the green lights on them are pleasant to look at. Hopefully the seemingly basic surge protection function actually works because all the other tech that these supposedly have is totally useless.

### 1/5 — This app is a waste of time

*2022-03-16, version 1.0.2*

This app cannot connect and configure the APC power strip all.. it completely fails. Easy to see why it has one star. It doesn’t even deserve that. Buy a smart power strip that doesn’t use this app….

### 1/5 — Great Product - Pitiful 3rd Rate Software

*2021-10-29, version 1.0.2*

1. I've had an APC account for years but this app won't/can't link to it.

2. Tried to create a new account but app never sent the "validate email" email.

3. Tried saving the FAQ info but app doesn't complete save process.

Awful, useless app. Like the title says, APC is a great product but they must have farmed out the app development to a 12 year old who can't spell APC. (Too harsh?)

### 1/5 — Only syncs sometimes

*2021-07-06, version 1.0.2*

Surge protector schedules don’t always sync when changed, essentially making the surge protector manual operation via WiFi app. Syncing with the app needs to be worked on.

### 1/5 — APP CRASH

*2021-06-15, version 1.0.2*

I bought an APC Home Office Surgearrest (PH6U4X32W)
Smart Surge Protector, White last year, and it works great, so I bought another one past month, and even if 1 year past, the app still crashing no matter what I do (install-deleting-reinstall)

### 1/5 — This app appears to be junk

*2021-02-22, version 1.0.2*

Had this for about a month along with a surge power strip that connects with WiFi and Alexa...worked for a few weeks but then decided to go off WiFi and it seems one needs the app to re establish its connection...try as I might’ve I cannot log into the app for love nor money...even using 3 different emails...it won’t even let you do a lost password... so my surge strip with USB ports that worked great until this morning is now useless because no matter how hard I try I can’t get into the app to reset it! How about this you APC folks??

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2020-10-19, version 1.0.2*

I’m VERY confused about the bad reviews. It was super easy to set up, it works great with Alexa (I’m using the Alexa app, since I haven’t actually set up my Dot), the schedule works great (it did come on 1 minute before the time I selected, but so what?), I’ve had no connectivity issues, and the app is super easy to navigate.

I’m honestly thinking about buying another couple ones for my fish tanks so that I don’t have to worry about them getting too much light.

Personally, I feel like all of the negative reviews just don’t know how to use it? Maybe they didn’t press Save on the scheduler? (I made that mistake)

Overall, the ratings don’t reflect the product and the app in the slightest!

### 5/5 — Simply works.

*2019-08-11, version 1.0.2*

I set this up in two minutes or less. No hassle at all, no idea what others did wrong. I set this up on my eero mesh wifi system but that's irrelevant other than strong wifi.

I tested the scheduling and that also works fine so far.

I am not using voice activation or Alexa because I don't want microphones all over the house, so as far as the app functionality, it does exactly what I'd expect it to do.

### 5/5 — This is ingenious!!!! Thank you APc

*2019-06-21, version 1.0.2*

First. So so so easy to setup. 3 smart switches are seamless in app as well as my alexa skills!!! Just super simple!!! Major props!!! Now i have an extra smart outlet to use around since this took its place!!!! Thanks for the easy setup and use!!!! Of course the protection as well!!!!

### 4/5 — Seems to work

*2022-03-05, version 1.0.2*

Seems to work so far, needs more features like a timer.

### 3/5 — Needs an update to install with newer phones…

*2022-01-18, version 1.0.2*

This app WILL work, but you will be unable to get your surge protector to link up and install unless you use an older phone with an older iOS version. My iPhone 12 Pro Max would not play nice with this at all. I had to use my husband’s old iPhone 6 to get the APC surge protector we bought to link to the app. I had to drag the old phone out of a closet and turn it on to do this. I guess since this app hasn’t had updates in a while, the APIs and certificates are not accepted by the updated iOS on our newer phones. So, my advice is that if you can’t get this to recognize the device and link up to it, try doing it on an older phone if you can, or even try on an Android if you have access to one. You can always use a friend’s phone if they will let you, get everything installed, then log out and delete the app on their phone. Once you have a device installed, using the app on the newer phones works fine. You just log into your APC account, and there your device will be!

### 3/5 — Nice but could be better

*2019-11-11, version 1.0.2*

There are three lights at the back of surge protector, it doesn’t appear as though the App can control them. They bright green, it is really only useful when there is something to say like a red indicator or another color would be best if the green was lighter and more diminished.

As far as Alex is concerned it doesn’t appear as though the device shows up as a singular item to control all the plugs at once all the individual plugs become available his skills. Not to mention the fact that Alexa doesn’t present the search protector as something that can be controlled via routines so that I could perhaps turn all three plugs on at once or off again.

I am discussing this issue with Amazon Alexa but I don’t know whether the problem is strictly in how APC decided to interface with Alexa or not.

### 2/5 — Not so Smart Outlet

*2022-06-21, version 1.0.2*

When it’s connected and working it works great. But mine has lost connection at least 2-4 times a year for the last 4 years I’ve owned it. Which does not sound like a big deal, until you realize I have it connected to my aquarium! Now I have to reset all the outlet schedules, and reconnect it to the wi-fi, and hope it has not been off too long to affect anything vital in the tank. I loved the size of this device and the programmable individual outlets, I’ve gotten some Kasa devices. MUCH more reliable as far as not loosing internet connection. AND I can change any of my device settings from anywhere, the APC is local control only.

### 2/5 — App

*2022-05-16, version 1.0.2*

Update APP :)

What happened with this App ? No update since what ??

### 2/5 — Not working properly with Alexa

*2022-01-27, version 1.0.2*

Outlet plugs work, but the USBs aren't.

### 2/5 — Needs more features to actually be useful.

*2020-12-08, version 1.0.2*

I don’t want to use Alexa. So my only options for remote control are in this app.

It does a fair job, albeit slow. But if Shortcut integration was introduced I could actually use Siri to do some of these tasks.

The app hasn’t be touched in a year so I don’t hold out many expectations anything more will come of this. In the slight chance the app development team are reading this - open up your API and let us control our gear using Homebridge or Shortcuts.
