## What is Apnea Comp?

Apnea Comp is a professional competition management app for AIDA freediving events, built by ELfreediving for the people who run them: Organizers, Main Judges, Judges, Safety and Media staff, and Athletes. From athlete registration through judging to official results, it replaces scattered spreadsheets, printouts, and manual data entry with one coordinated system, so every role works from the same live data and the whole operation stays in sync.

Whether you are running a single pool session or a multi-day depth competition, Apnea Comp keeps results accurate, admin minimal, and everyone informed.

• AIDA integration: import athletes and start lists from the AIDA system, then sync judged results back automatically for reliable official standings.

• Event setup: configure Pool, Depth, and Team disciplines (STA, DYN, DYN-BF, DNF, CWT, CWT-BF, FIM, CNF), lanes, Official Tops (OT), intervals, break times, and multi-day schedules.

• Check-in: register athletes with signature capture, handle late check-in and DNS, and apply automatic late handling.

• Judging: enter realized performances (RP), award White, Yellow, and Red cards with penalty reasons, and use built-in distance and STA-average calculators, with unjudged athletes sorted first.

• Live start lists: push start-list updates to athletes and staff in real time, and run Speaker Mode with a large countdown and audio cues for the MC.

• Results and Rewards: rank athletes with configurable tiebreak rules, track WR, CR, and NR records, and export to CSV and XLSX.

• Protests and re-swims: file protests under AIDA rules with athlete signature and jury decision, amend results automatically, and manage re-swim queues and openers.

• Athlete Mode: give athletes their personal info, start list, results, rewards, in-app medical and liability forms with PDF export, and protest filing.

• Built for every venue: English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with light and dark themes, Sign in with Apple and Google, profile photos, and account deletion.

From the first check-in to the final ranking, Apnea Comp gives your competition team one dependable place to run the event. Apnea Comp is an independent application by ELfreediving that integrates with the AIDA system; it is not officially affiliated with or endorsed by AIDA.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.18 — 2026-08-24

• Ties now count as records; a record is only proposed on a white card; national-record attempts are flagged in advance.
• Documents use the athlete's AIDA-registered name. The entry form appears only where required.
• Team events can be pool-only or include depth.
• Athletes joining by code see a clear status before the start list is published, plus pull-to-refresh.
• Apple Watch indicates when a depth reading is near, beyond, or unavailable from the sensor limit.
• The activity log now shows dates.
• Fixed: entries attributed to the wrong event when switching competitions.

### 1.1.17 — 2026-08-22

Team events can now be set as pool-only or as including depth disciplines, and the competition entry form appears only where it is actually required, so athletes are no longer asked for paperwork that does not apply to their event.

Athletes who join with an event code now see a clear status before the start list is published, and can pull down to refresh once the organizer loads it. An athlete profile can now be linked to only one account.

On Apple Watch, depth readings are now explicitly trustworthy: the value is highlighted as the sensor nears its measurement limit, and if the sensor goes out of range or reports an error the number is replaced with a clear unavailable state showing the supported limit, instead of leaving a stale value on screen. Recorded maximum depth is protected from unreliable samples.

Also includes a smoother transition into the Equipment checklist and clearer messages when there is nothing to download.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-08-14

Athletes who join an event with a broadcast code now see a live countdown to competition day — days, hours, minutes, and seconds — on their My Info screen, even before they are matched to the start list.

Organizers can now add an optional AIDA registration link when creating or editing an event. When a link is set, athletes who joined by code get a one-tap button to open AIDA athlete registration. If no link is added, no button is shown.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-08-13

• Added Descend Time display for depth disciplines, synced from AIDA.
• Minor improvements.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-08-11

• Fixed an issue that could sign you out after the app had been in the background — you now stay signed in.
• Stability improvements.
