When you set inputs to „Dual mono”, you expect to get two mono files. Instead, this app gives you a mix of both inputs. Thank you for ruining my recordings. Please fix this!

This app doesn’t seem to get updated much; perhaps it doesn’t need to be, it’s very solid. I’ve used it for mobile field recording and voiceover work and it’s not let me down yet. Appreciate the iPadOS interface making use of the larger screen.

If you are looking for a simple and solid two track BWF/CAF recorder this is a decent and reliable choice.

Loses a star because it doesn’t offer recording in MP3 or AAC (I know I know!), I have to use another app for that which doesn’t have an interface as good as MetaRecorder :(

Grundsätzlich bin ich begeistert von den durchdachten Möglichkeiten und der Qualität der Aufnahmen, umso mehr nerven die kleinen Bugs: die im Intro aufgeführte Funktion zum Pegeln der Aufnahme ist nicht verfügbar. Zudem läuft der Playhead während der Aufnahme innert 2min nach links aus dem Bild, so dass ich die aufgezeichnete Wellenform nicht mehr sehen und verfolgen kann. Da ich eine kurze Weile dachte, die Aufnahme wäre schief gegangen, hätte zwar irgendeinen Input (der im Meter noch angezeigt wird) aber keine Aufzeichnung, habe ich einen Live-Mitschnitt unterbrechen müssen. Das Ganze zwei Mal bis mir eben auffiel, dass es sich nur um einen GUI-Fehler handelte.

Can someone please confirm, that Ambeo Smart Headset will still work properly with the new version 2.2.1 and ios 14+?

I have been using this app for many video shoot and overall has worked pretty well. Currently, I can not get the Watch app to work with the new Apple Watch Series 6. Hopefully there can be an update to support the new watches so I can continue to use it as a remote starter.

Ich habe die App für mein AMBEO Headset von Sennheiser installiert. Leider stürzt die App ab und reißt das ganze iOS mit sich. Nur ein Hardreset des iPhone 11 Pro Max ist dann noch möglich. Das letzte Update ist 1 Jahr alt. Anfänglich funktionierte die App noch. Als ich dann die Samplingfrequenz auf 96 kHz eingestellt habe waren noch 2 Aufnahmen möglich. Danach wurde die App instabil. Auch eine Neuinstallation nützte nichts. Schade. Wird es noch ein Update geben? Ich fürchte wohl nicht.

Bonjour,
J’ai acquis récemment un micro/casque Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset, et je souhaite le faire fonctionner avec mon iPadPro doté d’un connecteur USB-C. Pour cela j’ai acquis un adaptateur audio Anker qui fonctionne en mode écoute casque, mais le modèle Ambeo smart headset n’est pas reconnu au branchement et donc, je ne peux pas l’utiliser correctement pour enregistrer via MetaRecorder (seul le canal gauche est enregistré. Même si l’Ambeo Smart Headset n’est aujourd’hui plus au catalogue Sennheiser, il est toujours vendu, et donc, j’imagine, un suivi produit doit être fait. Apple ayant changé de connecteur, les nouveaux iPhones n’utiliseront plus la norme lightning... Avez-vous prévu une mise à jour pour rendre l’ensemble compatible avec un adaptateur ?

The app leaves a 32ms gap at the beginning of each recording. While this doesn’t seem much, it forces you to edit all your recordings , otherwise you will have an annoying click at the start. 
Furthermore 96kHz recording with the Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset is broken. Although selected and displayed the resulting fil s ate 48kHz only.

I use this App mainly when I don’t want to pack a lot of sound gear. What I really like about it is the integration with the Apple Watch. I also use it for marking takes when using cameras that don’t have this feature. I can then export the .wav file and import it into Adobe Audition. I can see the markers there but what is really useful is that I can export it from Audition and Import it into Premiere Pro with the markers intact. I can then sync the MetaRecorder clip with my video clips on a track and the markers are lined up. So I don’t need a stopwatch for these cameras and I can do it from the Apple Watch with just a touch when recording. Would be nice to be able to view the markers on a take as a list but the synching ability with Premiere Pro is more preferred as I don’t use Final Cut Pro.

I have used this app with so many high school students using the first apogee mic, then the mic 96 kHz and now with four hype mics. So easy to set up and use, my students have never lost a file or had bad audio results over many years of using apogee products. A teacher’s dream app and products. Thank you Apogee for helping my students sound amazing.

also die idee der verlinkung mehrerer ios devices zu einer art netzwerkrecorder ist schonmal preisverdächtig. warum ist da nicht schon früher eine/r drauf gekommen?? habe es noch nicht ausgiebig testen können. aber wenn das halbwegs zuverlässig funkioniert, wäre das ein sehr schönes werkzeug für hörspiel macherInnen.

I use this a bit of live logging during multicam shoots. I record the audio, placing markers in recordings and then sync those makers with my Multicam clip in Final Cut Pro. A fantastic solution.
