### 5/5 — I never reviewed this app whilst it was still alive so here is my opinions in retrospect

*2026-03-29, version 1.15.17*

This was genuinely the best app for Reddit, I may have only used it for about 2 years but it was genuinely a really good experience. I loved how it looked and felt like an app designed by Apple itself with it being swiftUI. The gestures were amazing, the icons… omg the absolute hoard of icons it had was crazy. I had an absolute amazing time on Apollo and it genuinely had a big impact on my life and I how I consumed content. I have been putting up with the official Reddit app for almost 3 years now and I have to say it doesn’t even come close to Apollo and how intuitive it is. The only thing that comes close to Apollo is Hydra which is another Reddit app just like Apollo (not an advert I just like the app). I loved the app so much and it was genuinely a 10/10 experience while it existed. :)

### 5/5 — Miss this app

### 5/5 — Please come back

### 5/5 — If only Reddit wasn’t on boof

*2026-03-09, version 1.15.17*

We all miss Apollo. God save the API

### 5/5 — RIP

*2026-02-28, version 1.15.17*

Miss this app so much

### 5/5 — I keep this for the cat

*2026-02-11, version 1.15.17*

I love this app, hate Reddit for killing it, haven’t really browsed Reddit since then with their ads and promoted posts spamming my feed.

When I used this app, I had a cat that you can keep on your home screen via widget. I named it after a cat that is special to me and I still keep the app installed because the cat still hangs out on my phone.

Seems like Reddit is really dead, filled with bots and people who are obsessed with the social issues that were constructed just to distract them and spread hate in their hearts.

### 5/5 — Gone but not forgotten

*2026-02-08, version 1.15.17*

Everything’s gone to doodoo since they killed Apollo

### 5/5 — Sad but Well handled by the developer

*2026-02-06, version 1.15.17*

Christian handled the shutdown as well as could be expected. Sad that reddit did this but it at least gave me a reason to check out his other apps and try Achoo!

### 5/5 — I miss you.

*2026-01-31, version 1.15.17*

This app was the only thing that made Reddit usable.

### 5/5 — Comeback

*2026-01-17, version 1.15.17*

We need more reddit client options

### 5/5 — Reddit that api change wasn't cool

*2026-01-14, version 1.15.17*

This was an amazing app and bad on you Reddit for not allowing a little competition. Maybe you should have taken the hint and allowed the community who made you choose their client. It's not like they were using another service. Makes no sense why you rich corporations can't foster competition. It's good for all of us.

### 5/5 — Still missed.

*2026-01-13, version 1.15.17*

Reddit cant make a better app, even by buying existing apps.

So instead, they kill this one.

RIP Apollo.

### 5/5 — Still missed

*2026-01-05, version 1.15.17*

This remains the best Reddit app. So many great features, an unmatched experience. So sad it’s gone.

### 5/5 — Best Reddit app

*2025-12-29, version 1.15.17*

Still the best ever.

### 5/5 — Goodnight sweet prince

*2025-12-23, version 1.15.17*

You will be missed

### 5/5 — Thanks Apollo

*2025-12-19, version 1.15.17*

The best app for Reddit period. The greedy people over at Reddit killed ease of use and customization (happy customers) in exchange for money. There’s ads everywhere on the current Reddit app which is exactly why they killed Apollo with their API prices in the first place. It’s okay though, websites come and go, Reddit will soon be along with other things like MySpace and AOL. Apollo truly was the best app for an easy experience on Reddit.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Why is this listed? Dead app!

*2026-02-08, version 1.15.17*

Wow the App Store is garbage now.

### 1/5 — Sound?

*2025-10-12, version 1.15.17*

Wtf should I have to download a whole different app for reddit just to get sound. Rediculous.

### 1/5 — just remove it

*2025-09-18, version 1.15.17*

whats the point of this app now? you either go subscription or remove it entirely instead of begging for money

### 1/5 — why does this exist

*2025-07-22, version 1.15.17*

the app doesn’t work anymore

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2024-11-25, version 1.15.17*

Awful the real Reddit app works

### 1/5 — Come on Apple..!!

*2024-09-28, version 1.15.17*

Why is this still on the App Store if you cannot use it??!

### 1/5 — The app is useless!

*2024-09-27, version 1.15.17*

Let me at least pay for my api usage this is buffoonery to disable the app when I paid for it (and might be convinced for more if I hadn’t seen pals). I wish I could support the developer but his loyalty today is as useful as a floppy drive. The new pal app is bad too. I pray he focuses on ux rather than selling product in the future.

### 1/5 — If its dead, why is it still here?

*2024-03-19*

Title

### 1/5 — Dead App. Apple Remove It!

*2024-01-26, version 1.15.17*

DOA. RIP.

### 1/5 — App still available despite being EOL’d?!

*2023-10-10, version 1.15.15*

App has been end of lifed, what is the point to it still being here available for download?! If an app is no longer online, delete it from the App Store. Waste of time and data.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best

*2026-08-26, version 1.15.17*

It was the best app for surfing Reddit.

### 5/5 — Still the best app

*2026-08-22, version 1.15.17*

It’s been a minute now, and this was sadly the version of “Reddit” that is considered to be good. Hugs all around, Reddit is a ghost town now, incomprehensible levels of botting with terrible moderation.

Btw Ghislaine Maxwell was a head Reddit moderator during the “golden years”. The whole thing was cooked from the start, but Apollo was the best part of it.

What I’m trying to say, is that Reddit doesn’t deserve us, it never has.

### 5/5 — Not forgotten

*2026-07-16, version 1.15.17*

This was so much better then the official app rip

### 5/5 — Best Reddit App (RIP)

*2026-06-08, version 1.15.17*

Ahh, I can still remember the good ol’ days before Reddit built their official app around 10 years ago. I was in high school when I got my first iPhone and can vividly remember finding Alien Blue on the App Store 2013. I thought Alien Blue was perfect; simple, clean, and easy to use, deploying logic that allowed us to use Reddit just how it was intended to be used. Once Reddit released their official app, they decided to remove Alien Blue from the App Store but the app still worked if you had it downloaded on your device. I never knew Alien Blue was removed from the App Store until I got a new iPhone 2016 and was utterly devastated when I couldn’t find it on the App Store anymore.

But then that’s how I found out about Apollo. I felt like we were in the future when I first started using Apollo, the customization was on another level and I quickly got over losing my ability to use Alien Blue. Life was perfect for the next 6 years, until Reddit decided to go public and let greed and profits take over. I was devastated when Apollo was cancelled, I tried using the official Reddit app for a little bit but hated it and just stopped going on Reddit overall. Luckily enough, a jailbreak for my iPhone on iOS 16 dropped on January 2024 and one of the first things I did was try and get access to Apollo again and i was successful! Too a little bit of time researching and getting the proper keys to setup Apollo using my own API, but I’m extremely happy I’m still able to use Apollo to this day! We’re halfway through 2026 already and I just hope Apple or Reddit won’t do something that’ll break my ability to use Apollo. Thank you Christian for everything you’ve done for all of us, I’ve made use to support you for your dedication to preserving one of the best apps to come out in the past 10 years!

### 5/5 — Rip to the goat

*2026-06-06, version 1.15.17*

Still makes me sad

### 5/5 — Still the best Reddit App

*2026-05-30, version 1.15.17*

It’s been 2 years since Apollo stopped development. Yet it is still the best Reddit app ever made. Thankfully there is Apollo Reborn which does require side loading but keeps it Apollo functional. I’m posting this review to say thanks to Christian for the many years he worked on Apollo. I’m sure the community would love it see it open sourced if he was ever so inclined. Either way thank you again Christian!

### 5/5 — Thanks for everything!

*2026-05-21, version 1.15.17*

Reddit is destroying Apollo and all community trust; primarily through the actions and communications of its current CEO. :(

I deleted my accounts and will have a hard time contributing/engaging with Reddit even if they reverse course.

Apollo, the app, has been a joy to use. The stock Reddit app pales in comparison. Thanks for providing an excellent user experience over all these years through Apollo.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

### 5/5 — Please come back

*2026-05-01, version 1.15.17*

This was the best I’ve ever had and I still think about it to this day.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2026-04-19, version 1.15.17*

5/5. Can’t believe it’s not on my home screen anymore.

### 5/5 — You are missed,

*2026-04-12, version 1.15.17*

Christian!
