### 2/5 — So difficult to use on airplane

*2026-06-10, version 4.3.5*

This device is a huge hassle to use if you want to use it without radiation strapped to your wrist. I would not buy again until it’s made easier.

### 2/5 — Very annoying

*2026-05-23, version 4.3.4*

I'm reviewing the app, not the device.
- Bad: Extremely annoying upsell notifications that disrupt normal usage. Often I try to select a Vibe and a popup shows up instead.
The "premium" Vibes are the first tile in every category, which uses up most of the screen space. Just hide them!
Very disappointing that after paying for an expensive device I still can't just use it without being constantly bombarded with dark-pattern upsell.
- Bad: no Apple Shortcuts integration.
- Bad: the app sometimes hangs - just showing the spinning icon; restarting the app sometimes helps, but not always.
- Good: it works most of the time?

### 2/5 — New App UI/UX is a bummer

*2026-05-14, version 4.3.4*

I’ve been an Apollo Neuro owner for about 2 yrs. I use it daily. I recently updated my app and my user sat has gone from 5 stars to 2 stars. The app is hard to use—too many taps to get to my vibes—and the vibes screen is a visual design nightmare making it difficult to find what I’m looking for. I think you could do much better by your users. I wish I could get the old app experience back.

### 1/5 — From great to horrible

*2026-04-23, version 4.3.3*

Your app was beautiful and SIMPLE. You made it so complex it’s so hard to find the mode I care about

### 1/5 — smart vibes is a waste of $

*2026-04-23, version 4.3.3*

The device itself is decent and helps with stress and focus. After 5 years of use I decided to give the smart vibes a try. It was a waste of money. There's no way to set a vibration intensity preference so it drains the battery very quickly and kept ending up wide awake at 3 am with a dead apollo after having gone to bed with it at 80% charge. I significantly prefer scheduling my own vibes. When I asked for a refund they refused and were incredibly unhelpful.

### 1/5 — Never remembers last Vibe

*2026-03-30, version 4.3.2*

And every few months they change the layout for no apparent reason

### 2/5 — App is a mess

*2026-03-25, version 4.3.2*

I was an original backer, and the app has gotten worse every time I open it. I paid for the device, but now they try to monetize every app interaction When you open the app, it’s “buy this”, “buy that,” “buy another thing,” “click on here and buy something else.”

### 1/5 — Bugs aren’t fixed

*2026-03-13, version 4.3.1*

I have had this app for years (since 2023) and have given continued feedback about all of the various bugs in the app, but they only get ignored. They keep insisting it’s a user error despite it being charged, supposedly “connected,” and worn. Customer service is a joke as well, as they’re the ones constantly insinuating it’s a user error, rather than acknowledging known issues.

Spend your money elsewhere.

I feel like any benefits others are having are only a placebo effect as my sleep has not improved, have not seen any improvement in my anxiety, and only have bruises due to the size of the device and where it’s supposed to be worn. And it honestly looks like an ankle monitor. I’ve had to explain repeatedly it isn’t (either on wrist or ankle).

Someone else mentioned the paid five star reviews, and that’s the only my thing that makes sense given all the continued issues.

### 4/5 — Anxiety disorder; using it while writing this.

*2026-03-11, version 4.3.1*

Had this about a year and so far I am very happy with it. My use right now is for bouts of anxiety that cause my flight or flight response. I got to work today and things are off, and I feel off, and I feel like my hr is too noticeable to get anything done and I swear I started this up (I prefer using the clip and putting it on my tank strap against my upper chest) and I’m already feeling my hr respond.
I will absolutely rely on this.

Pros: app is easy, device is simple (thank god no screens) and you can adjust the intensity via the app.

Cons: pricy out front and really kind of convinces you that the subscription is necessary (which is pricy in our current market) …. Only like 2 vibes available for free. Have to do more research on what the subscription cost is going towards. Also - a little clunky, but that’ll change with innovation I’m sure. Battery life is rough.

It’s still been a win for me and my anxiety.

### 3/5 — Unsure

*2026-03-10, version 4.3.1*

I love the device but I got it a while ago and just found it after it disappeared during a move. I now see that I have to pay a subscription (shocker, another company trying to get residual money from customers) to use these new “vibes” (again, another company using “vibe” to appeal to the current cool kid vernacular). I am honestly writing this review so I get a free month of these vibes they value so highly.

### 2/5 — Disappointing.

*2026-02-26, version 4.3.1*

Charging a premium subscription on top of the device price for what feel like basic features feels like a cash grab.

I upgraded because I liked the device itself, but the extra $75 unlocks very little. (Online says it’s even more than that so I could be misremembering. If it’s $89 that’s even more ridiculous) it only adds a few additional vibe options and the ability for it to turn on automatically, which did not feel worth the cost. I don’t like the fast paced ones and didn’t like the device turning on automatically. It made me anxious.

After a week or so I realized it was overstimulating and started giving me nightmares. I contacted support within that 2 weeks to ask if they could remove the subscription and issue a refund. They told me to keep wearing it and try it out. Nope. More nightmares. They were slow to respond and ultimately refused to refund after some back and forth.

I still liked a few of the basic settings on the device, but the subscription does not match the value and the customer service experience left a bad taste. I haven’t used it since it last lost a charge (a month or two ago) because the whole experience ruined it for me.

How is there no deactivation of subscriptions? That’s pretty standard app process and the price is astronomical for what it is. Idk. It’s been months and I keep getting pinged to leave this review. The device is ok. Bulky but it can be relaxing - the app? Meh.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-02-16*

I wanted to use the Calm setting, which I have been using for years, and I found out now I have to pay for it

### 1/5 — Support?

*2026-02-15, version 4.3.1*

The device told me to do an update so I complied and now it no longer works.

### 1/5 — Premium

*2026-02-12, version 4.3.1*

I pay good money for the subscription and yet I am always losing access to the premium vibes. Please fix this

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Serious Order Failure, Week‑Long Delay, and No Leadership Accountability

*2026-07-17, version 4.3.6*

Update July 17: even though customer service (Pedro) indicated he would have it expressed to me once available, it was sent out Uber-slow ground courier via DHL/USPS. It is predicted to arrive July 20, after a six day ship/deliver fulfillment. Certainly not as promised.

Update July 9, 2026: from bad to worse. While Pedro has gotten involved to help, and did give me a year subscription to the Apollo Neuro Sessions, he indicated that they have no inventory and have no ETA for having inventory. This is considered an unlawful business practice in the state of Oregon through misrepresentation of availability of goods when selling those goods. Buyer beware!!

Prior to this:

I purchased two Apollo Neuro devices on July 1 using the Dave Asprey discount. After checkout, Shopify’s post‑purchase upsell added an extra device I did not authorize, with no option to remove it. Apollo Neuro has had my money for a week, yet my order has not shipped, has not been processed, and support has not resolved the issue.
On July 2, I was told the matter was “forwarded to leadership.” No names, no timeline, no follow‑up. Today, the support agent apologized for abruptly ending the chat, then told me I must wait another 24–48 hours. After seven days of no progress, that is unacceptable for a company selling a premium medical‑adjacent wellness device.
As a Shopify store owner myself, I know exactly what happened and how simple it is to fix. The upsell item added by Shopify has locked the order in an unfulfillable state. This is a 60‑second correction for anyone with Shopify admin access: remove or refund the upsell line item so the original order can fulfill. Instead, support has stalled, misunderstood the issue, and left my paid order stuck for days.
Potential customers should be aware: if the checkout system glitches, your order may get locked and support may not know how to fix it. A company at this price point should have a competent operations team and accountable leadership. I hope someone at Apollo Neuro sees this review and finally intervenes.

### 1/5 — Sold Out? How?

*2026-07-01, version 4.3.5*

I went to upgrade to the Smart Vibes subscription, which was offered in-app, and it’s Sold Out. To be clear, this wasn’t to purchase a device (I have one), it was for their software subscription.

HOW DO YOU SELL OUT OF SOFTWARE?! 🤷‍♂️

### 1/5 — $90 for app that gives you nothing and no useful customer support

*2026-06-30, version 4.3.5*

I purchased the device and was required to purchase the app upgrade with the device. I received an activation code, which does not work. Customer support keeps telling me that they are resetting the subscription, but it doesn’t work. They asked me to send screenshots of the app telling me that I need to upgrade to access the premium content. I’ve done that twice now and they just stopped responding. So I’ve paid $90 for an app upgrade and received nothing for it and no resolution from customer support.

I want to love it, but when you pay that kind of money for premium content, and then can’t access it at all, and customer support is nonexistent - the device nor the app are worth the hassle! There’s a lot of other options out there besides this one. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend the device or the app. Don’t throw your money away!

### 1/5 — Skam

*2026-06-16*

They promise a 30-days refund, but it reality it’s not possible, they send tons of messages to explain that it’s your fault and not processing Any refund which violates customer rights.

### 1/5 — Nothing but forcing subscriptions and bloated software and it doesn’t run schedules half of the time

*2026-06-12, version 4.3.5*

When I first started using this, the app was decent there were some issues but now it’s nothing but forcing you to buy a stupid yearly subscription. You can’t even set up the app without it, forcing you to go through the set up. Once inside of the app, it’s so full of garbage. It’s hard to even navigate to the simple schedule and vibe. Both of them are locked. Never used to be. I bought the wearable from them. I don’t even think they offer that anymore without a subscription. If something happens to this wearable, I will not be purchasing another. Scamming customers into a subscription is a terrible business model. People use your devices for health reasons and you’re screwing them over. Really nice company. Do not ever buy from them unless they change their ways.

### 1/5 — Deceptive marketing

*2026-05-18, version 4.3.4*

I thought I was buying more vibes for my device but there was no description, it just kept telling me I needed to buy this to get any vibes. And when I did, it gave me no other access. When I contacted support they said - sorry - we can’t refund you, you have to buy another different package for another $80. It’s a complete scam - they don’t give you any info before you purchase and then claim you purchased the wrong thing and try to charge you for something else. I’m sending my device back and reporting all of this.

### 1/5 — Unaffordable

*2026-05-18, version 4.3.4*

Used to live my apollo when they first launched. But it’a very unclear why, on top of an expensive wearable, customers are forced to purchase smart vibes.

Pick one or the other, the development of your product isn’t substantial enough to warrant draining bank accounts.

it’s become the most unaffordable piece of junk i have. the cool thing about Apollo used to be its accessibility, but not anymore.

after all these years, my Apollo finally needs replaced because the battery is at the end of its lifespan, but i will not be buying another.

### 1/5 — New default settings ruined the device

*2026-04-23, version 4.3.3*

I’ve had the apollo neuro for 2 years now and I have used it A LOT and gotten a ton of benefit from it. I loved it and told everyone about how great it was. Recently the developers pushed an update that has changed it to the point where it no longer works for me. I primarily use the Sleep, Recover, and Focus vibes, and until recently the vibe you previously used would be the one that was queued up for you. For instance, if you used the Sleep function and then woke up in the middle of the night, you could just hit the buttons and Sleep would start up again. They recently made Social the default vibe. So every time your vibe session completes, it reverts to Social. After several sleepless nights, I finally figured out that when I hit the buttons after waking in the middle of the night, I was using the Social vibe. Seriously?? I’m in bed, not at a bar!! Why would they do that? So now if I want to restart the Sleep vibe after waking up at 2am, I have to reach for my phone, open the app, scroll down the list and select Sleep to start it again. Exactly the thing sleep experts tell you NOT to do…get on your phone in the middle of the night.

I work in EMS and do a lot of night shifts. When we have a challenging call in the middle of the night, I will put on the Focus vibe. After the session ends, the device defaults to Social. So a couple of hours later, it’s now 4am and I still need to stay focused and alert to do my job, but instead I get Social. Sweet…back at the bar. I can’t always stop what I’m doing, reach in my uniform for my phone, open the app, scroll down the list, and select Focus. Previously, it would just be on Focus if that’s the last vibe I used and a quick press of the buttons would start it up again. This update is so frustrating, and makes it far less functional for my purposes.

I contacted support about this and there is nothing they can do. The user cannot choose their default vibe, it will always revert to Social. So good luck to the folks that are trying to use this for anxiety or to quiet the mind. That’s not happening unless you restart it from your phone every single time. I did a hard reset, deleted and reloaded the app, unpaired and paired the device again, and nothing helps.

I pre-paid for the new version of the apollo a year ago because I loved this thing so much (they are still working on it and who knows when it will be available). But if this doesn’t change I’ll be selling it right away or asking for a refund when I receive it. No point in having this (for my purposes) if this is how it functions going forward. I really hope the developers see this and take my comments into consideration. Customer Service did not indicate they were going to pass my comments on, even though I asked. I think this is a really significant failure and should be remedied right away. Thanks for reading this if you’re one of the hardworking folks who fixes things over there at AN. And if you are a potential customer, I felt it was worth you knowing this before jumping in. It’s a real negative. If they change this back, I’ll definitely update my review to 5 stars but right now I’m so disappointed in the functionality that it’s worth taking the time to post this so you know what you are getting into.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love my Apollo Neuro!

*2026-07-11, version 4.3.6*

I've been using my Apollo Neuro for over a year and half, and have come to rely on it as a helpful tool to enhance bodily regulation. I use it daily, for work, sleep, winding down, and to encourage creativity. The battery works well, and I appreciate the ability to automatically schedule vibes throughout the day.

### 5/5 — Um produto incrível

*2026-06-03*

Super recomendo

### 5/5 — Super product

*2026-05-30, version 4.3.4*

It has really helped me to not have as many panic attacks and definitely improves my sleep. Recommended..but you have to stick with a routine. Makes things bearable

### 5/5 — Get One!

*2026-05-23, version 4.3.4*

I started using Apollo Neuro 16 months ago when I went on stress leave. My doctor recommend I try it. I am not an early adopter, but was desperate.
I have been using it for about a year. I am now back to work full time after being off for 4 months.
I either clip it on my undergarments or wear it around my wrist during the day. At night, I wear it around my ankle. I utilize the schedule feature so I don’t have to think about selecting a vibe, however I do like to run certain vibes and do as needed.
I especially like to use recovery after I work out or travel . I use Calm when I am in situations that feel unsafe and stressful. when I need a burst of energy I use the awake vibe.
Apollo has helped me and I continue to use it day and night. I like the different vibe categories. At 350.00 it is worth it. Just get one and see for yourself.

### 5/5 — Customer Service Came Through for Sessions

*2026-05-05, version 4.3.3*

While the Apollo’s Neuro website doesn’t differentiate well between Sessions (smartphone based) vs. SmartVibes (wearable), customer service persisted and fixed an issue with applying a discount for Sessoons through Apple purchasing. Accessing Help through the app was easy, then we switched to email once it was clear they needed to work on their end. Kudos to them.

### 5/5 — Sleep tight

*2026-02-27, version 4.3.1*

I was having issues sleeping…I’ve had Apollo 3-4 months now and I sleep 10x better
Fall asleep faster and don’t wake up more than 1 time a night for a bathroom break now!

### 5/5 — Wake up calm

*2026-01-31, version 4.3.0*

I love how my Apollo gently wakes me up with a gentle vibration that increases slowly, helping me not to over sleep.

### 5/5 — Creating a Balance

*2026-01-31, version 4.3.0*

The value of the Apollo is that it aligns my physical awareness with my mental commitment to being more balanced.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-01-17, version 4.2.10*

I purchased the device in a bundle that includes the premium Smartvibes Subscription. This is the real deal. I'm a healthcare professional and I've done research so I'm aware of placebo effect. I paired it with my Oura ring and Smartvibes uses the data to send me sessions automatically when I most need them. Plus I get the objective data from the ring to correlate with the Apollo Neuro app.

### 5/5 — Your portable, discrete, warm blanket.

*2025-12-10, version 4.2.7*

Review is for the app + device. I’ve had the neuro wearable for nearly 3 years. I’ll leave home without my wallet but not my wearable.

It’s helped me sleep better, it’s helped me calm down after big stress at work, it helps me relax and unwind on the drive home. The wearable is a 10/10, no notes.

The app inarguably looks better but has dropped some features I used heavily. There’s some truth to “smart” (stay asleep) but that and “AI” are more marketing than utility. The wearable makes up for it. I’ve tried to share feedback directly but seems like that dead ends at the support team.

The support and support team are great. I had to do one warranty over the years but went smooth and in my favor. Outside of warranty, they offered a reasonable replacement when I effectively hit mine with a hammer and broke the casing.

I can’t say enough good things about this device. Give it a go.
